I think I am going to play Rebellion for old thymes shits and giggles.  I don't think I can even run Wasteland 3 on this system, although it apparently will work on Linux.

I guess I can try it on the laptop...

For anyone unfamiliar with M.U.L.E. it was an awesome multi-player game back in the 80s:


I think the same guys made a game called "Mail Order Monsters" which was also multi-player, although it was only head-to-head instead of a 4 player.

Good lord.  I forgot how much thyme can be wasted playing these dang vidya games!

I pretty much wasted my weekend on Rebellion (and apparently my back/shoulder/mouse-hand? -ouch):  for anyone unfamiliar with this one it was widely panned at the time of its release by game "critics."



It's a turn-based strategy type, I happen to have enjoyed the hell out of it back in the day.

I even managed to play a few games against live human opponents online (I crushed the hell out of them:  they were probably among the "critics" of the game;  "WAH TOO HAERD, WHERE"S TEH X_BOX KONTRULLER, MOMMEEEE! REEEE!").

If nothing else, it felt like a poorly-adapted board game (akin to Milton Bradley's "Axis & Allies" that was turned into a rather klunky computer game around the same time) which it apparently was!

Still, it worked and if you had the appropriate amount of functional brane-cells to understand and play:  it was well worth the thirty bucks;  HOURS AND HOURS of gameplay!

I am actually surprised that I am unable to find many fan-mods for it, perhaps I should "learn to code" and write one?

It occurred to me while working in the yard that this one might be fun to record a vidya of and do some fun non-cannon FanFic in the Star Wars universe (complete with shitty character voice impersonations) while playing it;  which might fill the time in-between "game turns" and such...

ProTip:  If you do not want to spend a year and a half trying to win this game play "HQ-victory" on a small map.  Otherwise you have to go all full dictator (read: Conquer EVERY PLANET IN THE GALAXY) chasing down Vader/Palpatine or Skywalker/Mothma and capture them.

Personally, I would have gone with two fours and pozzed (NEGATIVE-)PS3, but, I couldn't find the correct left for dead plug and play and spray adapter. I stopped looking a little quite a while though.
