Pastor Kunneman ended with an altar call, like our old pastor always did.  Notably, he did not prophesy a second term  :o Now there is some guy named Wallnau, "like build the wall now" he said.

Stop talking in church  >:(

K_Dubb

Wallnau is claiming credit for what he calls the Cyrus Narrative (God can anoint heathens like the Persian king Cyrus to save His people) which made it possible for evangelicals to vote for Trump even though he wasn't a sanctimonious poopyhead, I don't know if Wallnau is the one but I have certainly heard that narrative repeated in my evangelical family.

It also made coins like this possible after Trump moved the embassy to Jerusalem which will result in Jerusalem being recognized as the capital of Israel which means through some mechanism I am not exactly clear on they can kick the muzzies off the Temple Mount and rebuild the Temple and that will bring about the prophecy where Jesus comes back or something like that.

Lindell is on now, inviting journalists there who have written mocking hit pieces to come up and be prayed for.

Wallnau was very good, I wonder why I've never heard of him before.  He ended with the story of Jael in the Book of Judges who famously slew an enemy commander when he napped in her tent by driving a tent peg through his head.  The message from God is that if It comes in your tent (i. e. your family is infiltrated by globohomo) you can kill it.

He's not that liberal. He supports the oppression of women. If he wasn't gay he'd probably be against that, too.

No, I am pro-choice.  I don't have to like people's choices to support their right to exercise them.  Roe was a bad decision but Alito's opinion overturning it was worse.

LOL Reinhold Niebuhr was absolutely not a communist.

Just look at the havoc they have wrought since getting the vote. Men create a society so free that they eventually allow women to vote and by and large what do they do? Vote for communism to destroy the evil free society. The current situation is the result. The oppression of women is, in general, a good thing for humanity. Now, get on that medium rare steak, would ya? ;)

The Lord works in mysterious way. If you look at even some of the most famous, lauded leaders David, Solomon, Moses, Paul etc they couldn't be even elected to a minor political office today considering some of their past crimes, scandals, etc. And if you look into other religions you can find things that would really shock modern societies or voters, why some of those areas don't want to modernize, maybe?

There is a whole holiday celebrated by some tribes related to deception, seduction, and whole-sale murder.

Some people march around in Orange playing your favorite instrument fifes and drums to celebrate mass killings of the papists while the Catholics throw bricks and Molotov cocktails at them. People are weird and have strange customs, holidays, and celebrations related to violent stories from the past are not new.

Oh yes, that is certainly the case, and evangelicals were the clear winners in Trump's term.  In any event Trump is a believer now, Wallnau said that Trump prayed the Sinner's Prayer at least three times that he knows of for different preachers to say they were the ones who led him to Christ oh have mercy I was cracking up, even he was like dude you only have to do it once

If you want K_Dubb to notice you, you had better do some squats and stuff a few less Cheet-Os into your gob. He's giving you the side-eye at the moment because you're such an obvious chubster, but if you dropped a few I'm sure he'd be willing to engage in a bit of skullbuggery. He's notoriously unfussy.

All this whimsical gay stuff he comes out with is just cover for his deep-seated Fascist sympathies. He was going on about getting railed by someone dressed as Himmler in some seedy nightclub the other day (I am vague on the details, but it was quite disgusting, as you can imagine) and you don't need to read very far between the lines to see what he's really all about. All these Norwegians are closet quisling Nazis anyway, that's why we decided to bomb the crap out of Narvik during the war.

Quisling was a national joke, nobody took him seriously, his party never won a single seat or got more than a handful of votes before the war.  But he was in thrall to the one man he thought could save Europe from Jews, Bolsheviks, and Liberals and ended up against the wall in Akershus back when men were men and knew how to deal with that kind of silliness.

I was surprised that there is an apartment complex called "Quisling" nearby UW in Madison. I inquired most just said yeah, it is right over there and didn't get my point. One old guy said 'most people don't ask' but that it was a dental clinic and the family's name was Quisling before the war. It is now converted into apartments under new ownership. But I'm still surprised that they didn't change the name, I guess now nobody knows history. But there is lots of Norwegians up there and near a major university with ties to Norway and immigrants, so weird.
Look up: Quisling Terrace Madison, WI

How odd! It must be named for him or for a relative, that is by no means a common name.  Or a native one; Norwegian doesn't use Q.  Some sympathizer driven into exile, probably, hoping to escape notice like all the Finnish communists in their Finn Halls back in the woods up there.

In twenty years there will be Trumptown somewhere in the Bolivian Amazon where pale gray blobs of fat in faded red hats labor at reloads while reruns of Hammity blare from an old tv, and trundle down to the jungle gunrange in their Hoverounds to put a few holes in printed Hitleries and Oblablas.

Neat old building, looks like it belongs on Miami Beach or something.

Well they were on the right side, at least; I am sorry for the nasty things I said about them.

QuoteGunnar, who served in Europe during World War II, was awarded a Legion of Merit citation by General Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was honored for his work in developing a device used to locate pieces of shrapnel in wounded servicemen during the war. The citation was presented in Madison. Dagny recollects the bandstand that was set up on Wisconsin Avenue for the ceremony.

An eye, ear, nose, and throat specialist, Gunnar also perfected the basic design for gas masks used by soldiers who were required to wear glasses. He did specialized work on poisonous gases at Camp Stewart, Georgia. "Gunnar died when he was only 41 from lung cancer he probably contracted from experimenting on himself," Dagny says. The doctor belonged to numerous service organizations, veterans' groups, and the Sons of Norway.

Oh, I do believe I pinked him a bit with that one. He's obviously sensitive about his Nazi heritage. I've been mining a barren furrow all this years with my rampant homophobia. All it took was a little reference to Norsky Nazis and he's having conniptions and dropping his knitting!

You can! It is not limited to those of Norwegian blood-lines* And is also not fraternal, though you would qualify, I think. And they could sell you insurance  :)

His name is apparently quite distinquished and learned. Several stuck with the family business and are ENTs. One runs a clinic in Illinois, I think? It actually was more of a common name than I would've thought. A quick search shows several people with that name, and all but a certain one, seem legit, good people. Quisling apparently was a Latinization of a name generations ago before Vidkun. Which was popular in some circles for centuries. Especially if rich, academic, religious, royal, etc. Made one 'look smart' or 'seem powerful,' I guess.

I am sure we can all regret the former but, as to the latter, it's mostly a way to get drunk cheap with your fellow Norwegians, which sounds great in principle but in practice half of us get really quiet while the other half get really loud and none of us really like each other all that much.

It would be a terrible thing if it were true, but it isn't.  My grandfather was down by Antarctica on a whaler when war broke out, he was one of the few who never bowed as the Merchant Marine never surrendered.

I do have a distant cousin born during the occupation whose father was a German soldier, everyone in town knows who she is.  She lives a terrible life, her mother was shorn and paraded through town on a dung-cart and didn't last long the poor creature, and the child was for years called kaalraate ("cabbage rot") and pelted with buttons every time she went to town to shop and, when she went to the konditorei for a piece of marzipan-kake the baker would cut a ragged piece out of the middle squash it with a spatula and put his great greasy thumb in the frosting.  She's in her eighties now and still flinches thinking it's a button whizzing past her ear.

Yes of course there is a business scheme at the heart of it, that is why my grandfather called us the Jews of the North.
