Yeah.  No shit there.  I'm hoping that Herr Albrecht is well and sucking down Marg's on the front porch of his Waco condo.

Yes, he was in the Austin area, unless he moved.  I haven't seen him on EG. :( He is missed.

I agree, he was always a great contributor. Hopefully he isn't at Guantanamo or FEMA Zone-6 detention/re-education center.

pate

I heard that he and Foodlion had moved to either Montana or Idaho to set up shop, this could just be one of those vile intar-tube rumors though...

No, neither covid, nor the Dread Baxxine (triple-shotted!), nor monkeypox, nor galloping aids and syphilis can keep me under hah

Yes I think we were talking about some Swedish log hut they have there in a park somewhere, for some reason that escapes me.

Thank you, that is the one!

You can tell it is a Swede because there is only one chair, any visitors end up suspended from those metal racks hanging from the ceiling.

The dust and the clutter would drive me nuts, I would have to remodel and maybe put up sound proofing foam. I wouldn't add any chinese Ikea furniture though. I would make it open concept, one minimal but comfortable chair and a small table. I would sleep while hanging from the rafters to maintain space efficiency. The fireplace would be retrofitted for a small 13,000 BTU air conditioner unit. It would need new ceramic volcanic ash floors, and the mantle would be replaced with a horizontal monolith made of ebony. A tempered sky light would also do a lot of good.

It is awfully cluttered.  I suppose when they announced it as a museum display every Swede within a 200-mile radius went banging around in their shed for relics, and they had to display everything.

The musical cabinet is interesting, maybe a harmonium (he said hopefully)?

We will always have Bellgab! Amazing. The band is back together!  I'm well and fine. Too hot here and won't login in a while because going off-grid on some roadtrips. Packing up for an epic trifecta of Midwestern Norskie and hitting Decorah, Stoughton, and Mount Horeb. K_Dubb you'd love those places! Then up to sample the fine sausage delicacies of the Polish and German butcheries up north in Wisconsin where Hamm's is sold at gas stations at $2 for two (tallboys even.) And they have the odd phenomena of "supper clubs" where you enjoy lake vistas, sip Manhattans (they use brandy up there,) and fine dining, sometimes with entertainment. I could see Norry getting a summer gig in one of those places doing his awful crooning and slapstick comedy shows to drunken Midwesterners sun-burnt from sailing and getting some too much rays on their winter-bleached guts.

Great to hear from you, Albrecht!  We were getting a little worried.

Sounds like a great road-trip ahead, especially to escape from the heat.

Ha! Don't forget the sardines! 😄

Haha. Next time. Actually talked with some kin up there who were here. Both WSU grads (odd, sorta, but went West Coast on some island near Bellingham. I think? Idk geography there. I gave the two-finger off-steeringwheel wave to two -count em- TWO Amish-types (really likely Amana folks) on horse-drawn buggy. Actually two on each buggy: a total of four for idiots. But but both horse handlers gave me the equivalent 'howdy' as we passed. Corn tall n green here. Crazy compared to Texas etc!

Millennials actually work much harder than Boomers ever have. And yes, you did ruin the economy.

AZZERAE

You Boomers have multiple bank accounts, properties, cars and other possessions-- Yet all you do is plead poverty.

You wouldn't know hardship if it hit you in the face!

You're an entitled group who made yourselves comfortable by looting the financial future of us Millennials.

You really do believe that you work hard and we don't. But, actually, you're in major denial.

Moving money around and renting out property is not a job. Its fundamentally predatory-- Yet you fail to see it that way.

Keep maintaing your pools of wealth, so that you have more time to sit around and troll people on BellGab.

Oh, Paladin, you're sooo funny. I bet I'll get a PM from you in under 24 hours crying 'TRUCE! TRUCE!'
