Quote from: AZZERAE on July 25, 2022, 02:52:26 AMI hear what you're saying, but at the same time radio is very limiting when it comes to the subject matter one covers, and language one is able to use. And in my opinion, radio is on its way out altogether.

Podcasting is the future. And while the financial payoff can be miniscule by and large, I really think it comes down to it serving as an effective outlet for ones creative expression.

There are some podcasts that hit it big, and in turn make the creators good money. With paid sponsors, etc. But many fizzle out after a few episodes, because the realisation that the whole endeavour is fundamentally more trouble that its worth deters the impatient and expectant would-be creator.

I would love to, for instance, have my show streamed live somewhere that has decent numbers. It just seems like the true freedom to speak, without profanity being so severely censored and other risqué content frowned upon has hamstrung the efforts of those who have great content to offer.

I think things need to change. Just to make a larger point, I'm going to use a TV show as an example of similar gatekeepers that were overcome in the past. Look at a show like South Park, for instance. No one would have dreamed a show like that could be broadcast on TV at the time. But Comedy Central allowed them to push the boundaries of what was acceptable.

Radio and/or the live streaming of audio needs to catch up. We need a fearless figurehead who can pioneer a new age in the world of audio broadcasting. Someone to take a chance and push the envelope. Keith Rowland was a fine example of how not to be.

I mean, MV's 'walk into Verizon and suicide bomb them' bit getting him thrown "off air" was one of the stupidest reactions I've ever witnessed to a clearly sarcastic, flippant comment.

I guess we just need to wait it out to all these boomer dinosaurs* die off to live freely.

* No offense.

Consider a broader scope, Just as TV has evolved for 70 years now, its still pictures on a screen. So has terrestrial radio AM/FM evolved into other sources to deliver the same shows but its still  words we hear.

We can watch the same TV show or movie from many sources now,  Same with radio shows. Its tapping into the most lucrative revenue streams, the delivery source isn't important. Makes no difference if its ABC radio or Clear Channel or Roswell"s smelly Farts basement podcast digtal network or combination of different delivery sources..

Who ever has the most listeners receives the most advertising revenue.  That's the goal,  get the most listeners by offering a superior product to the sources that have the most ad revenue.  Noory Suks , Bellgab's has a collection of great paranormal podcasters that can offer late night fun and compiling late night paranormal content.

So the opportunity is for a leader/manager,  to pick out the best paranormal podcasters and contact the late night networks with the most revenue and deliver a product that has compelling late night fun and paranormal content.  Everyone that participates gets rich and lives happily ever after. Doing what they now do for free or as hobby.

Above is like,  called a ...business plan.

Chiefist had,a business plan for printer cartridges.
This is a business plan that is that simple.
Business plans aren't Rocket Science.

If someone makes it big doing this for themselves as a manager and for other podcasters by using this simple business plan .  Send out some nice Hoodies.. Play it forward.

Norry really suks.. everyone agrees!

One of you can return late night radio into something better than even Art's shows.

One life , live it, go for it!

The talent we have on Bellgab is fantastic! Just take one leader to focus and manage these Kats.

Yo my mans!
My remote viewing results indicate that Onan is enjoying retirement by taking in lots of reading (he just finished Gulag Archipelago's third volume.) Jaz is apparently studying english as a second language and has started a pilates studio. The only thing I'm picking up from B_Dubb is something something taxidermy but I'm not sure if he's doing that or being that.

Does... that mean this is the Bad Place? 🔥🔥🔥

Good to see you, too, Cheffy, great expectations for Thursday!  Your studio must have reached Dave's Hawaiian dimensions by now, green room, teak desk with built-in bucket, post-show lounge with upholstered bar in Naugahyde, hostesses with coasters

Actually was supposed to be there in a few days for the annual monsoon mysticism and divine toad rite shenanigans. But alas, the lords of time and space have insisted I attend their firefly infested reindeer games in the Catskills instead. Fucking magic is so much work. Especially when you're on a budget. But Tucson is home boi! Been back twice since April so I knows I'll be soon back again, and again, and again...

Let's meet up the next time, brother. Monsoons moving in now...it was 78 here this afternoon. Save travels!

I bet he could have sold a few with the MITD posters as the artwork, during the show anticipation days.  I have some of his stickers,  and I still have Gravity Patches in my BellGab shrine.

Well, big boy, let's think about this. Zeebo was one of nicest posters here, in the old days. Is he here in this place? Heck no, he's busy enjoying the Good Place.

Man, I love Tucson. I wish I was there now.

Years ago when I'd be out there, I'd set outside after a late afternoon monsoon thunderstorm, crack open a cold one, look to the west, and enjoy one of those spectacular desert sunsets.
