Not just bad but an "insurrection"...

I have noticed of late that this current "ErectionInsurrection" term is quite the Popular word.  I suspect it has become so heavily engorged through the rigorous application of Blue-Pills, lending it an air of Gravitas.

She is certainly not an attention whore.

"$2,000 means $2,000," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) told The Washington Post "$2,000 does not mean $1,400."

My Uncle fought in Burma during the war. He talked about heat, mud, rain, malaria, snakes and finding guys nailed to trees with their balls shoved in their mouths after the Japanese got them.
He left out the cute dancing girls.  Seems like that might have been the best part!

Weird warning/disclaimer/popup I got when looking up some stuff on the Hell Ships and Burmese campaign:

"Indigenous content warning

The Department of Veterans' Affairs recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nation Peoples of Australia and acknowledges their continuing spiritual, cultural, social and economic connection to Australia's lands and waters.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website contains images, names and voices of deceased persons."

Interesting, some sort of cultural prohibition against images like certain tribes with photographs here.  How traditional can that be?  The belief can't predate the camera or the wax cylinder.  Probably just because they are grotesquely obese and camera-shy.

It is because they are Oracles and Seers. They were trying to stop this from being filmed but they failed.................

This is why we can't have nice Wendigo. (I'm happy to report--I don't know what the plural of that is... I've never been so careless as to have to deal with more than one at a time.) Stay frosty, Troopers!

Apparently it is related to the taboo of saying a deceased person's name during a period of mourning. I'm guessing the taboo about names (found elsewhere to varying degrees or circumstance 'name of god(s)' etc was syncretised to be taboos on photographs and written word of the dead or sacred ceremonies?

Now interesting if the person is famous the tribe, or family, might allow a news agency to report the death and use the name, instead of circuitous route "man who painted," but other media agencies CANNOT reprint it it. Those these Abos are clever enough to recognize exclusivity arrangements and contracts!  And also enforce prohibitions from photographing, reporting, even on public figures or ceremonies. Some of our politicians and Hollywood Stars should be listening to these people.

ps: Texas is one of the few US States, I think, that a dead person's family/estate can sue for defamation. "Blackening the memory of the deceased."

Ah that makes sense!  The dead person is still a powerful force and the old "naming calls" taboo is in effect, so use a euphemism.

You may know, we still practice this with bears.  The word "bear" is related to brown (bruin, Björn, etc.) and represents dropping the original PIE word (retained in Latin "ursus" and French "ours" with a cognate in Sanskrit -- it's a very old word) in favor of an indirect reference.  We are effectively saying "the brown one" because we are too scared to call him by his name.  Slavic languages do this, too, but their word "medved" is related to honey (mead, etc) and means "the honey-eater".

According to Russian Propaganda site:  ;)
"the bear also engenders fear, and it’s a fear deep in the Russian soul. The name says it all. All Russians call the bear “Medved”, meaning something akin to “the one who likes honey”, from the Russian for honey, “Med”. However, an interesting test you can do, ask a Russian where a bear lives, what’s the Russian for a bear’s house. They will tell you correctly it’s called a ‘Bearlogga’. In this name we find, hidden away in the language the true name of the Bear in Russian. It’s…..Bear! But a long time ago the superstitious Russians decided that saying the name of something terrible would make it appear. Clearly it wasn’t very convenient to have a huge bear pop up in your kitchen just because your kid said its name, so they changed it, to protect them. Actually similar things have been done to scary animals or phenomena the world over."

One notes that even in recent times things like cancers (the Big C,) various diseases, a girl who 'got in trouble,'  and so on. Everyone knew what that meant but didn't want to 'say' it, for politeness, superstition, luck, or whatever. Like how now in modern times the local news will just refer to "youths" or "teens" after some "urban" mayhem, rape, or attack.

The news is covering the funeral for Capitol Police Officer Sicknick. RIP, of course, but what hypocrisy. Speeches about value of peace officers, police, family etc, from a head of the 'defund the police' and disparage traditional families Party Senator Schumer- now he quoting from the Gospel of Matthew! So cynical, dare I say pernicious, these people.

I love it. Xiden's new "Climate Czar" Kerry flew on a private jet to receive an environmental award in Iceland. Actual environmentalists criticized him but he said "it was the only choice for people like me."

"Only for thee, not for me" should be the Democrat's official Party slogan.

Oh, this is rich. Voltaire never had it this good. I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!

True.

Then the logical conclusion would be that all of all y'all are not worthy of Me. Let's not go there.

Instead, Joe Biden, slouching towards Bethlehem. This is exciting, isn't it? I almost wish I'd voted for him, but without the vat-grown spook, Biden is dead to me. (METAPHORICALLY DEAD, DUH)

Literal spook, though. I don't mean race. I mean Company Casper. This isn't verboten yet, is it? I don't have a bulleted list that has been updated lately. No one tells me anything. Sigh.

That is nothing new, I think Obama pioneered this technique in the 'stan.  To do so on American soil (CONUS or OCONUS) would be quite the innovation, might require LegislationExecutive Orders to make it extra-Legal though.
