A little fuge for thought:

FUGUE: In  psychiatry a dreamlike altered state of consciousness, lasting from a few hours to several days, during which a person loses his or her memory for his or her previous life and often wanders away from home.

Besides Bach, more better and sublime, also Mardi Gras and NOLA, in general.

A little fuge for thought:

How the media controls the narrative that controls the world

" ... the only real power in this world is the power to control the public narrative about what is going on. The only reason governments operate the way they operate, the only reason money works the way it works, the only reason power exists where it exists, is that we’ve all agreed to play along with some made-up mental stories about those things and pretend that they are true and real. The only thing stopping the populace from collectively deciding to change the way money works ... is the fact that those ideas have not become the dominant narrative. If you can control the stories that the masses tell themselves about what is in their best interests, you control everything."
One notes that the TERMS they use express things. "Narrative." "Programming." I would say "rubbing your face in it" - almost, almost posted R before f in face. Haha.

Glad you’re finally awakening.  Everything is either rigged, or they’re in the process of rigging it.

The best part is that even the really average person is starting to wake up. There is no way for the reporters to spin this where it is not obvious who is being protected and who is benefiting.

lol Dr. MD MD your propaganda disinformation cannot stop me I'm sending this letter to all the congressmen and women I'm buying stamps now.  Soon there will be laws that will kick you off the net, because your rhetoric is flat out dangerous not true and stands against society and a healthy culture.

We shall have healthy discourse with out you soon Dr. MD MD

You would have been thrilled with the recommendation made by a government panel yesterday in Canada. They want the government to step in to help to regulate hate speech and anything that could be threatening to individuals. I applauded their brave stance and wrote my MP to ask them to adopt this proposal. Perhaps you should request citizenship (or better yet, walk across the boarder like tens of thousands of "irregular" immigrants each year.)

Hell, they were patting themselves on the back because they were protecting the oppressed by NOT demanding that everybody on the internet NOT be allowed to be anonymous. Apparently, that was an actual suggesting that they thought might be going to far (at least at first.)

Here is a story link. Apparently, we Canadians are just begging our government to protect us from the big, bad internet. "The results were released Monday by the CRRF, a Crown corporation, as the Liberal government is preparing to introduce measures to regulate social media content." https://globalnews.ca/news/7593885/canadians-support-government-crackdown-social-media/

Fucking hell. I have not heard anything so fucking scary in a long time. Giving the government the power to regulate the internet. What could possibly go wrong. Good thing my VPN thinks I'm surfing the net from the last bastion of free speech. Russia.  ???

Number 1 I'm an American I believe in freedom and I was just trying to figure out a way to stop disinformation.  I love the 1st Amendment.  Maybe you are right its impossible I just tried ok.  Maybe we should stop being mean to one another and try and get along ok.

Mmm...nah! You not only threatened me personally but also the future existence of this board because you’re a megalomaniac who thinks you know what’s best for everyone, what we can discuss and what we can’t. I truly hope you’re flushed like the piece of human excrement you are. Have a nice day.

So, I have a question. When did this dangerous misinformation start spreading? Because when I read history books, it seems like it has always been there. In every debate- and from every source. Did you know that in the 1800's black Americans were happy to be slaves according to the most authoritative researchers and newspaper publishers in half of America (as just one very small example.) More recently, we needed to go to war in Iraq because there were weapons of mass destruction (and if you dared to argue, you were spreading misinformation.)

The problem is that it has been around for far longer than the internet. But it was concentrated in the hands of a few elites. They could give information or suppress the truth as they saw fit or were told (think the propaganda of WWII that was openly used.)

Now, that is political. For others, we have the late, great Art Bell (and now punctual, abysmal Dave Noory) to tell us the truth. How do I fight cancer, Dr. Noorie? Well, vitamin D, plenty of sunshine and, of course, toomeric. And I don't begrudge them. If people want to try that instead of chemo- it is their choice. But it is still "disinformation" that could easily be considered dangerous.

You appear to be concerned that too many people can now spread disinformation and want it put back into the hands of the elite few once again to tell us what is and is not allowed (like the new governmental office that they are proposing in Canada.) Thanks, but no thanks. Abe Lincoln didn't shut down the printing presses that claimed that he was a warmonger and his actions hurting the slaves. He didn't tell the papers what to print and demand that they stop what he deemed " disinformation." And that was during an actual revolution.

Here you and others are wanting to tell me (and the entire world) what ideas they can and cannot be exposed to because it may lead to "wrongthink."

TL;DR- I think your conclusion that it may be impossible is correct. Where we differ is that I don't find it to be desirable...

I always shake my head and chuckle when I see all the talking heads offer up their supposed “fact checking.”   â€œYes, just trust us.”

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

The problem, of course, is not that people say stupid things but that people believe them.  But as long as doc confines his insurrection to the grocery store I am perfectly willing to countenance it.

I agree. And usually it is the MSM who gives us the "facts" that get to factcheck the other sources.Convenient.

I never said people shouldn't be free to be stupid; that is your God-given prerogative and I fully support your right to exercise it here.
