Fun video here:

Dayam!  That’s the clearest video I’ve seen to date in terms of discernible detail.  So much so that the skeptic in me wants to see expert analysis of the video and witness testimony before it will allow me to get excited.

Probably CGI or some shit but it's a honey of watch, ain't it?

It is that and if it were to prove out it would be historic.

Obvious artifact reflections.

So the person taking the shot might have just been capturing interesting cloud formations when the "object" showed up but he couldn't have seen it with his naked eye?

Yep.  Hard to believe a right seater could take that video with a handheld without getting windscreen/window frame, nose of the a/c, wings, engine(s), etc., in the picture.

We’re looking at a stabilized and edited version. If they were to show the raw file alongside for comparison I would be less skeptical.  Also, statements of two or more disinterested eye witnesses who observed the object with a naked eye would be nice. Absent that, no way for the inexpert to rule out CGI or artifact.

Another that is probably a CGI April Fools but a good one.  From Drudge today:

So you admit that he’s an advanced being then?

Honestly, I prefer "retarded." It maintains humility.

This is real Jackrabbit your a wanderer of the lost!  Our fire power will cover Station 10 off the axial of the Milky-way!  As matter of fact we have so many stations yet I believe that when the Calvary arrives, from here you will witness the Hexagon of the Abyss and Michael the Arc Angel will chain you up soon

Remember these guys? "group reportedly moved to Garland because the name sounded like "God Land.""

After failure to appear and other bad predictions many left the cult but others: "They continued to wear cowboy hats but began stating that a war between China and Taiwan would lead to a nuclear holocaust that would result in much death, but also God's arrival in a "God plane" to save the members"

I just loved the idea of a bunch of cowboy hat wearing Koreans moving into a nice neighborhood en masse and the conversation:

"Hi, we're the Millers, Bill and Pat, from next door. Welcome to the neighborhood. You'll like the cul-de-sac and neighborhood. We're having a potluck picnic down at the club house tomorrow, I hope y'all show up. You play golf? What brings y'all here?"

"Howdy Paltneer -tip oversize cowboy hat- we moved here because our leader says a UFO god is going to appear on a local UHF channel."
And then once disappointed they left Texas for Upstate New York but "continued to wear cowboy hats." That is the kind of detailed reporting we just don't get anymore.

I had a friend who called his family when this aired. To say goodbye etc. Hilarious. Apparently he got home mid-broadcast and thought it was real. Classic.

Remember the one about the terrorists detonating the nuke in Charleston Harbor?  Same format, a news broadcast.

Yeah. I like the genre. Never believed but as a suspension of belief and in times prior to internet or 24hr news I could see how some would bite. Especially if you turn on program mid-run because the low production costs mimicked the poor production of most news, especially local, news. And during Cold War etc you never know when something might go off. I think some of them even used real anchors. I seem to recall Eric Severeid was in one even. Thanks to internet, confirmed, he was in "Countdown to Looking Glass."

The Brits did a similiar movie called "Threads" that was really scary.
