really sucks i missed Quayle. did he have a great conspiracy tale or biblical prophecy about the coronavirus? did it involve the Book of Enoch and the Nephilim?

A famous Doctor once mentioned Enoch in one of his ballads...  I believe it was in the year 3000, Nautical Shore.

The CDC began to hire many quarantine program public health advisors in many states 6 months BEFORE novel corona virus was supposed discovered in China.  Almost as if they KNEW it would be released.  Here is the CDC actual website link from today with its jobs opening:

Pate, you might not want to waste your pearls on me.  I can barely even read your handwriting, let alone follow riddles or allusions.  But if i could understand you in general, I would.  But I just have to skim the top of your posts and hope something makes sense.  I me n sinC, knot sense.

Jojo

Last night's bumper music must have been for his (I guess) very young grandchildren.  Will we have a reading from The Little Train That Could tonight?

I just went out for a coffee and had it on in the background. I appreciated the Bing Crosby. :)

I am so fucking bitter.  Must be nice to be able to go out for coffee.  I do look for FT work and so far no interviews.  Every fucking day I worry about how I will pay rent/transportation each month.  I don't mind PT work while my 19-year old pet ages a couple more years; I don't ask for a lot.  I don't need to be rich.  But I'm going to implode if my resources don't improve.  Basics like rent and transportation must be manageable.  My 19-year old cat doesn't have a euthanasia fund to reduce suffering at life's end and even if she did, I'd spend half of it on bed foam first and the other half on gasoline and food.  And a new phone for one of my jobs.  If I still have that job.   I'm grateful for my EBT home brew, don't get me wrong.  How much did you pay for your drink?  Out here stands are charging over $5 for a simple 12 ounce latte.  I saw a gallon of milk for $7 before Corona virus.  But that doesn't matter.  Espresso out-priced me 8 years ago anyway.  I'm just bitter.  On George's next birthday, I am going to start putting the energy I put into fandom into seeking a mate.  I don't like men very much, but I just can't do this economy alone.  It takes two to survive right now, unless a person's retired, very skilled, really able-bodied, lucky, or has a solid family support system.

Relax! I just went to McDonald’s. I don’t like gay coffee. I take it black with sugar.

This is ideal sister wife material. I'm gonna make some calls. How are you with tying knots? Stay frosty.

Jojo

Ok, I feel bitter better now, thanx.

My dad used to take his coffee that way.  I can do it if the coffee is really good.  Then it tastes like one of those nips candies.  That said, a little fat in coffee is a safety measure so that the coffee emulsifies the fat inside the stomach instead of getting to the bloodstream and emulsifying fat there,  not sure though.  So maybe have a little food with the black coffee.

I moved 2 years ago.  But thanks for the thought.  Sounds cryptic, lol.

JoJo, your EBT/SNAP dollars would be better spent on coffee you make at home.  A two pound bag of decent whole beans (make GALLONS of coffee) is the same price as three or four Coffee-shop coffees.

Fuck espresso, get a French press and a teapot to boil water (technically 190-200F, not boiling), spring for a $10 coffee grinder.

I went this route years ago when I figured out I was probably spending $1000/yr on convenience store coffee I used to buy on my way to work.

Now I have a cup before I walk out the door in the morning, if the weather is nice I just sit on the back step and enjoy my lawn with the coffee.  Incredibly relaxing start to the day, & no traffic related coffee-spillage.

Probably pennies a cup...  (28g coffee per 568ml h2o, think it's a 24oz cup I brew.  But I weigh the water.  1ml=1g)

Happy Brewing!

Yes, that's what I'm saying.  I used to harvest, roast and grind my own dandelion root to add in the coffee basket.  I miss that a lot.  You are crooning to the choir!  Those new little espresso machines aren't bad.  French press is fantastic for ultra smooth cold brew.  Remember that if the power goes out.  All you do is plan ahead 8 hours...  Who is walking who, here!

The funny thing is I fully intended to delete that whole rant.  But someone distracted me and when I sat back down the time had expired, lol.  But y'all have been so nice.

Dave,

One of your fans recently wrote the following:

One of the reasons I despise Snorge is because he strikes me as a big phony.  In addition to being a rather stupid, boorish, lazy, corporate butt kisser, who is an egotistical shameless shill, with minimal talent. Other than that, he’s OK.

This reminded me of a song that I think you should totally put into your Bummer Musak rotation:
