This one goes out to Art:

https://youtu.be/6YuOCM2V-Uk

I'm learning to live without you now
But I miss you sometimes
The more I know, the less I understand,
All the things I thought I knew, I'm learning again
I've been tryin' to get down
To the heart of the matter
But my will gets weak
And my thoughts seem to scatter
But I think it's about forgiveness
Forgiveness
Even if, even if you don't love me anymore

the end of the innocence

Most people deserve the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

The problem when they start lying and acting flakey is everything they've done before and in the future becomes suspect.

Uncle Duke

I'd still like to know the real story behind that idiot "Chunga" replacing Barbara the night GIS guested on Dark Matter.

Total War Kunst Glocke dunkle Materie !

Someone has to show me how to do that on the Mac.

Hmm, Panzerlied Art Bell style ?

I know it's not politcally correct but those songs are how I first learned the little German I know along with the story of Max undt Moritz.

My uncles Willy, Heinz, and Siegfried were in the Luftwaffe, Wehrmacht and the Kriegsmarine.
My Father was in the US Army.
An uncle on his side was in the Imperial Japanese Navy and bombed Pearl Harbor.

Everytime I hear that song I want to go out and attack something.

German lyrics   Best English Translation
First stanza Foist Senda
Ob's stürmt oder schneit, ob die Sonne uns lacht,

Ogre-Lee, google>?

C'est droll!

"War'oom Eggs Dare Oil" as warning to Eggo Sanctions  Mnnnmmm'Aoli!

Which brew>?

Who cares? Is art still living?

Last we heard, he was adding security measures to the compound.

Not sure when that will be finished, and he's not going to discuss them.

It's in full force, I believe. Art's not competing with anyone.  ;D

Art has a 100 year non-complete when he did midnight in the desert. It said that he will not complete against himself with somewhere in time with Art Bell on Coast to coast am.

No doubt, eh?

I have a hard time comprehending the events of the last few years.  I remember just how long those 2 years of non-compete loomed over me. At the time I thought it would take so long.  Then the anticipation began to build just before July of 2015.  Then the events of late 2015 happened.  What an utter and complete fiasco that was.  What a way to end your career, by making your audience listen to a failed interview of a supposed timetraveller, then calling in to your show, then disappearing during the commercial break.  I wouldn't believe it except that I lived it.

I know how ya feel Hog.  The whole thing was so surreal, and still is if I think about it, which is barely at all these days.

It amazed me how out of the wreckage of the events detailed on this very thread, a veritable avalanche of good will kept the comeback dream alive and later helped it actually come to fruition - only to have it all bizarrely scuttled on the rocks just when it was really gaining momentum.  Such a total waste of an endeavor that so many supported passionately and against all odds was actually working.

I wish Art and his family the best, and will always be a fan for all the great years of radio he gave us, but the puzzling drama of these last couple chapters I choose not to dwell on anymore.

I will always be a fan too, Zeeb.  It's kind of funny but I think that those last couple of chapters started when Art ate the light bulb.  Wasn't it not too long after that things started to spiral downward?  I could peruse the old threads to find out, but I just can't bring myself to read them anymore.  I went back once, but I got too depressed and quickly returned to the present.  http://bellgab.com/index.php/topic,9055.msg602563.html#msg602563

Art will not be down for breakfast

CrazyMax46

I've rarely posted here, I came around the time of the Sirius show (I still subscribe btw) and wanted to post something about the news.

I've never dwelled endlessly about people who die. I've never been super sad upfront, it'll probably hit me months down the line when I realize we don't get more wacky updates about Art out in Nevada. The only time I've ever been crushed by a death was my younger sister who died at 23. I feel there's a lot of competitive grieving that happens when someone dies. And I've just never been that type of person.

I grew up listening to Art as a kid. I was a dumb kid who believed in anything. To be fair in the 90's we were all seemingly X Files crazy. So it made sense Art became popular during that time. As I got older I realized a lot of the stuff talked about wasn't real. There's no such thing as ghosts, spirits, aliens demons, heaven, hell or anything else. There is only what is. And Art was that person who was a little different in a increasingly greedy and awful world. Ghost stories are fun around a campfire. And there's not enough fun in this world.

73's ya'll.

I am still seeking an explanation for Art's passing. :'( Sure, he had COPD, he kept us informed of his hospitalisations, but none-the-less, it is still difficult to accept the master is gone. :-\ I miss, and forever will, his calm and intelligent and unique spin on late-night, overnight radio. No one can or will take his place. He was the king.

Thank you to the operators of BellGab for a quality forum and providing this space for us to communicate our feelings and our thoughts. :D It is needed now more than ever.

I'm guessing his heart just gave out. My grandpa had emphysema, and somehow lived into his 80's. We knew the only thing keeping him alive was sheer will and his strong heart.

Ok, I agree, I am a washed up has been who has lost what little talent I might have had, my memory is fading
fast and my skills as a Interviewer no longer exist. Like a Prize fighter who took one to many punches I am off
in zombieville. I can take a hint, I am done. So I will now leave and abandon my idea of free streaming along
with a life that has now lost all it's meaning. I am sorry to have crushed so many dreams and now understand
full well that the real King has taken his rightful place on the throne of Bell Gab. I understand I am dead to you
all.

                                                                                                                                Art

Hail To The King.
