Lots of people are concerned about Amazon, and with some of the other giant tech companies.  FaceBook, Twitter, Google, Apple, Microsoft and others certainly stand out as perhaps becoming too large, too powerful, with practices - including tax avoidance - that are not healthy to our economy and our society.

We are still early on in the digital / internet / information age.  Capitalism needs restraints when certain aspects become malignant, and we may have reached that point with Amazon and others.  There has been an ongoing conversation about these issues, and what to do about them, if anything.  So what if Trump makes a comment?

They didn’t change their policy until after Trump was president.

It turns out that their collection of sales tax for the states that did not file law suits is recent. Implemented last 4/1/2017.  Just under a year.  They must have gotten tired of paying the legal fees to fight all of the law suits.
