And BAH, I can't help but be a soft-hearted girl over here (SORRY) and say I hope George doesn't read this forum and feel sad and crappy about himself.  :(

It's not personal, George! It's just business!  ::)

His sister is dying though, right? Or fighting very late-stage cancer? He got pretty emotional on the air about it recently â€" I do feel for him there. Maybe that, plus his new TV pursuits, plus the show are all getting to be too much and he needs some balance. Or maybe after 10 years he's getting burned out. I remember when he first started hosting after Art, I felt halfway hopeful, like, "OK, there'll never be another Art, but maybe this guy can at least pull it off." It's only been during the past few years that his out-of-left-field ridiculous questions and spacey way of conducting interviews have started irritating me.

I remember sometime in late 2012 he was interviewing this lady who claimed to communicate with animals and â€" ok, that seems a little wacko but it's one of the reasons why I love C2C â€" she was in the middle of telling this halfway interesting story and he suddenly interrupted it with a goofy, trying-to-be-funny question that had NOTHING to do with the story she was telling â€" I wish I could remember what the question was, it was so EPICALLY stupid â€" and it completely derailed her (she even sounded confused, like WTF is up with this question) and she never finished her story. I wanted to scream and throw something at my radio. I honestly thought he was drunk, it was so bizarre. Or that he had wandered away from the mic for a while and wandered back.

It's that kind of thing that seems to be happening all the time. So yeah, I think George could use a break. I feel like I'm the token JB Wells fan on this site, but I do hope he takes over Fridays â€" I know there are mixed opinions about it over here, but I actually like his Naked Lines â€" he gets some wackos that make me laugh and he's always so cool about it, which makes me like him that much more.

For once I was asleep through coast so I missed the topic.  I now have to hunt down an archive somewhere to look at the show that I actually wanted to catch (it has been so long since I actually wanted to hear a show that I do not know where to find it anymore.)  I am interested in this type of thing and it has to be one of the few things that Well cannot ruin (unless he forms a theory regarding the government destroying mushrooms and causing a housing shortage for the Smurfs...)

WOTR I downloaded the show with my spiffy C2C Insider account. I think I can share the MP3s with you through Google Docs if you have a gmail account. PM me and let me know and I'll try it.

(and LOL at the Smurf conspiracy theory)

I think he totally reads it! (Hey JBW, CALL ME!  ;D ;D ;D)

I kind of got the feeling he checks this forum when he started Saturday's mushroom show with the "I know what you guys are thinking - what the hell? mushrooms?" intro - the mushroom thing was mentioned in the "are topics going downhill" thread (or whatever it's called - sorry - trying to dash this off at work).

If so, he should give the CoastGab people a shout-out next time.

(Mushroom show wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, BTW.)

the dude is always clanking and banging shit while he's on the air, it's fucking annoying. is he cooking a 4 course meal while doing the show?

This made me LOL so hard. In fact I'm still laughing.

Awww, damn I like the guy.

I thought David Paulides was fascinating. At least on the vanished people topic. The Big Foot stuff, not for me.

Whatever happened to Brendan Cook and Barbara McBeath? Art used to have them on all the damn time. I'm surprised they're never on the show anymore.

And Evelyn Paglini. She was another regular.

I guess I have a love/hate relationship with those guests. They make me feel nostalgic. I don't know if they should be on the worst guest or awesome guest list.

This list is AWESOME.

And HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - no Evelyn Paglini! Aw, I kind of miss her.

How long has C2C been on? I can't seem to find that info anywhere. I've been listening since the '90s, at least. I'll always love C2C and I'll probably always bear with the hosts, whoever they are. The show has gotten me through so many crappy times and long sleepless nights in my life. And sometimes when I'm fed up with life â€" which is often â€" I'll be listening to this show and its guests and callers and all their crazy passions and theories and pursuits and it kind of makes me fall in love with people again, if that makes sense.

When I first heard John B. Wells, I thought it was Art for a second and did a double-take. Of all the hosts, he's my favorite, mainly because he (usually) seems genuinely interested and engaged in what most of his guests are talking about â€" or at least more so than Noory, who frustrates the hell out of me. (I'm not a diehard Noory hater, but don't get me started on how he cuts people off right when they're starting to talk about something interesting.) He also sounds like he at least makes an effort to do his homework before his shows.

I think he's refreshingly laid-back and he handles some of his crazy callers really well. I will say, though, that the Jan. 8 show with the guy Cobra was the biggest train wreck of a show I've ever heard. I cringed all the way through it.

And C'MON, you guys laughed at my phone sex comment, but you've gotta admit his voice is sexy as hell.  ;)

(Oh and hi, I'm new here! I was so damn happy to find this forum. I'm such a geek, I could blab about this show for hours, as evident by this tl;dr comment. :D)

Whenever I hear Richard Hoagland and/or Linda Moulton Howe, I want to start wailing.

Tonight's topic is mushrooms. THREE HOURS OF MUSHROOMS. Oh, and during the first hour, gold (of course).

It makes me want to weep.  :'(

John B. Wells is pretty much at the top of my 'People I'd Like to Have Phone Sex With' list.  ;) ;)

Plus he has awesome taste in music.
