When they were in fashion in the UK, a few small shops sprung up and sold all the equipment. It wasn't illegal to sell, buy or install, but they were illegal to use without a license. Naturally most disregarded this little technical detail and there was considerable anger from truckers who had bought a license. But like all fads, it died down after a few years and the only ones using it once again were truckers..then mobile phones that looked like house bricks took over..

I could be cruising anywhere in upstate new york and find someone to chat with on channel 23. That was our club’s default channel.

Go on, admit it, who bought a CB set in the 80's and wasn't a trucker? (I didn't, but knew a few who did)..That film has a lot to answer for. ;D

I used them alot in the 70’s. I was in the Adirondack Show-Van-Ists and the Omaha Truckin Company. They were mandatory equipment for vans back then. Still remember my call letters too. Actually one of the few people that got a license.

I have a couple of handhelds in my go bag along with the gmrs and frs talkies.

She was really hung up on getting the locals to lynch the sheriff. So ya, I guess in the end, it was a lot of the same.

By the way, a certain hoodie arrived on my doorstep today, WhiteCrow. Thank you! My husband loves it! I told him to open it across the room though, just in case there was a bomb in there.  :P
And damn, it's quite a nice hoodie. Embroidered and everything.  :)

You might want to put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. The one he sent me had a camera and transmitter in that locket looking thingy.

so, let me get this straight...
a nice lady (feeling pity for the FAT FUCKTARD) was in touch or knew Keith Rowland
and was attempting to help him in his quest to take over MITD, by making some suggestions
and invited (I guess from the chat) Keith Rowland to the TRAIN WRECK
and also offered to follow up with Keith Rowland ?

yea, I thought so...

So which one of you is Richard?  ;D

Richard the Bellgabber Caller: Where does Heather stand in all of this?

Karen: Uh, Heather was going to do this show with me. She's appalled. She's appalled.

Richard the Bellgabber Caller: I can imagine.

Karen: She's uh, she's about where I'm at.

Wouldn’t that violate Heather’s noncompete?

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Art Bell

Someone should call in and act surprised they are discussing this because they just talked to Art on the Ham radio this morning.

Why not?  Seems to me that piece is ideal at any funeral.  It says, don't be afraid of dying, which is what funerals are for: getting people used to the idea.

Because the pope doesn’t shit in the woods

Ya, Karen hasn't addressed that as far as I have heard. No indication of what a proper amount of time would have been. I guess they should have just waited indefinitely. She said the sheriff's response was that it is public record and they can't withhold it.

...but my husband keeps talking to me and interrupting so I am probably missing some of the conversation.  :P

Tell him we said STFU

Was Art really a Mason? Where did they have the meetings out there? Aren't Masons "joiners"? He seemed like such a loner. Complicated man.

Recall how she posted that she no longer believes in magic.  Coz her last spell, to keep Art alive, didn't work?

Exactly

Can we consider: "The Art of Cuck"

You’ll have to okay it with Nancy.

Doesn't the Catholic church have a thing about suicide or was it revoked?

I don’t know. I am one of those recovering Catholics. I choose not to be catholic one day at atime.

Ask albrecht. He knows everything.

Holy shit that wasn't just a joke? Does it take a week to design? I thought you tell the memorial company what you want included and they come back with designs for you to approve. Maybe she's using the Secret Order of the Stonecutters to do the work and she has to get through the many games of ping pong first. Good to see she got the memo about mentioning the family, tho.

Who’s?

Was Art Bell religious?

Not on the air. He wanted to believe. Probably became catholic to marry Airyn.

That too. No doubt it'll come out when his widow is ready to let the details be known. Or maybe she won't?

Not like it’s going to change his tombstone

Art did mention, at least a couple of times, that someone whom he wouldn't name, had given him a time machine, but that he was too, afraid to use it.  However, he did speculate that perhaps someday, he might manage to find the courage.

If Art didn't use that machine to disappear, then maybe we ought to use it to go and bring him back.  Probably, though, he'd just end up quitting again, anyway.

He mentioned the guy’s name a lot. Even interviewed him on air. Check the archives.

Maybe because it isn't the public's business..Yeah, that's a good reason.

I just figured it was because there was no real hurry.

I live near Art Bell and I am a fan. It is painful hearing the chatter in town claiming Mr. Bell's death was an intentional overdose. I have heard 2 credible sources say there was a note. Where is the autopsy result? Why is this information being kept from the public? The sherriff knows. If you are reading this, you will also soon know. God bless that poor family.
