Not all of his fans or whatever one might call us, are so blinded that we can't see straight, either.  I wish people would get that. There are people who, I dunno.. "love"? admire? someone so much that they do stupid things- stalking, inserting themselves into that person's life w/out permission,  thinking there's a personal connection when there isn't, following them to every stop on a book tour or whatever to have conversations with them.. I mean REALLY wrapped up with that person.  There may be people on BellGab who feel that way about Art.  (I don't have time for any of that. I have a life. Sorry, no offense to those who enjoy their fandom in a different way).

Why is it so difficult to separate those types of fans, from fans like me- someone who enjoys Art and his talent for providing radio entertainment, who may be disappointed in him being off the air but who also does not have so much emotion put into it that I'm running of the rails like a crazy train, demanding info and all of this other nonsense I keep seeing on here?

+1 The force is strong in this one.

Noory has been consistent all these years. He may not be up to everyone's expectations and has been criticised, spoofed, mocked, and parodied in unflattering ways- BUT- he still shows up every night. I think he deserves at least that level of recognition. So, once every 13 years he has to take time off for a molten pizza roll accident, and I'm sure we'll still hear about it for another 13 years, and there's no reason to think that there won't be another 13 years. Therein lies a critical difference that I see- not everyone may agree. After all, it has been said that just showing up is 80% of success.

Actually GN might not be so bad if he didn't have 23 minutes of commercials per hour to sit through. It must be hard for the guy to stay awake, let alone keep bis train of thought going having to wait through all of those commercials.

Actually, he would still be bad, but maybe not AS bad.

Wasn't DP banned before? Vaguely remember Art saying he wanted to punch or fight him last quitting episode. You could be on to something, lol. :)

Actually I believe that is something the DankPenguin brought up. Something about some email exchanges he had with Art back when Art quit Sirius. When Art prints out his posts, he will find them. Art may already have his contact information without realizing it.

So what's Art's status as of today?

He retired forever a couple weeks ago.

Tthen about a week later he came on here and insisted he had done no such thing and indicated he would be back behind the mic soon, and regularly, on at least a part-time basis.

Then a couple nights ago he said he had said no such thing, and people shouldn't think he's coming back to the show ever, but they should keep paying $4.99 a month for Heather and Keith's sake.

Now he's going to sue Dark Penguin, but at this point it's all so confusing it's hard to tell if that will interefere with him going back to the show, or if it will keep him from quitting.

We need a color chart for Art's status, kinda like the old terrorism thing.

We could post it at the top of the thread, thereby saving people a lot of time.

I totally get why you/anyone would use it for the gifs. I have to ask, how can you be certain that there is nothing meaningful to be said if you don't read it?...even though they never have before IYO....just asking....

Sure, why not, I guess.

Guess for me I like to see what's going on, whether I find it useful, meaningful, interesting, stupid or not....or if I "like" the poster or not. Different strokes I guess.

I've been on many forums where people have freaked out because of posters who they found "offensive"...never could quite get my head around how quickly some people get way bent out of shape by words from a stranger hiding behind a fictitious name. <dunno>

What I have experienced is that there are a select few people on my ignore list that actually come up with something meaningful from time to time. When that happens, someone usually quotes them, so I get to see the "gem" then.

By keeping them on ignore, I only have to see their posts when they are quoted.

Hiding behind a ficticous name is what gives idiots the power to post things they would never utter in a real life conversation. The ignore feature lets me filter those things out to some degree.

MV toyed with the idea of removing the feature. Now I am glad he didn't.

I don't get it. Why is any silly ignore feature necessary?

What are reading words on the internet that someone doesn't like or agree with going to do to anyone? It's the INTERNET!! Don't go on the net if you are afraid that something may offend your sensibilities!

Remember sticks and stones....etc?   :-*

Its not necessary. Its a feature you can use if you want. I originally only used it for users that tended to post animated gifs which totally made my browser come to a halt, especially if several people quoted those animated gifs. Now I choose to use it for a select few that have nothing meaningful to say. As far as I know I have only made it onto 1 persons ignore list (So far).

I have a lot of channels on my television. Some of those channels I don't like. So I "ignore" them.  When I read a magazine, if there is an article that I do not wish to see I "ignore" it.  If there is an author I do not like, i "ignore" them by not opening their books. Why should I not be able to use technology to ignore things I don't want to read on this forum?

Haven't posted I awhile. Had a  day before X-mas Eve  trip to the hospital for emergency surgery.
Been on Vicodin the last few days due to pain. Couldn't sit at my computer, but had my little Android tablet to pass the time
and follow the forum. I hope Art comes back, but right now I'm not a Time Traveler. I was for Art and Richard.
It's nice him trying to promote Heather, but I was paying cover charge for the main entertainers.
It's like you go into the club expecting to see Annie Cruz and Sasha Grey on stage ;D, and now it's  Amish girls in ankle length
dresses dancing to Mozart! :P

Glad your back. Here's to a speedy recovery. Be careful. Others will say "pictures or it didn't happen". 😎

I am guessing it was around November 12th during an open lines show. I was in the live thread chat that night but I never got a PM. It was right after my subscription ran out, so I think I am close on the date.

And I have asked countless people about Rollye and Art and none of them know who either are. My friends know I am crazy so they just nod along.  ::)

Both of them had a large following of long haul truckers. For a long time, the station I listened to Rollye James on was the same station that would switch to C2C at midnight central. That was the best of times.

No, certain people were getting PMs that night to call in and make trouble. It was an organised thing, not spontaneous. I'm sure every program is going to get prank calls, but that night they were trying to dump on him from a great height. The PM also mentioned that they were acting on orders, or some crap like that, so they weren't just doing it for the hell of it.

I'm seriously butthurt. I never get the cool PMs. MV hasn't approved my request for turbo mode.

The whole problem with that little kerfuffle was that nobody was willing to come out and say anything about it, so it was all hearsay of one kind or another. However, there was an awful lot of smoke where Art was concerned, and the rumours were pretty strong (from those in the know) that they had received their orders from the top. We know Art and RCH fell out. We also know that Art is the sort of guy who will get you back one way or the other, if he can. Maybe those idiots got together and organised it all themselves, but they strike me as the sort of people who would need supervision to tie their own shoelaces.

May well be.  I just take issue with someone stating something as fact when it is conjecture.

Hopefully all that flooding I keep reading about is not affecting you.

There is some sort of cosmic justice going on where Art gets off on putting BellGab up to harassing Richard's show, yet he's the one driven off the air. When Team Noory threaten legal action about what's been said on this forum, Art claims "public person, deal with it sucka" yet bring up anything uncomfortable for him and he flips out. The man has too much time on his hands.

You have no proof Art put anyone up to anything concerning RCH's show other than getting the timeslot for him and recommending SaucyRossy as the producer. Everything else is rumor and hearsay.

Art's a great broadcaster (at least he used to be), but his books are terrible.  It's like there was no co-operation between him and his ghostwriter, and no editor involved anywhere along the line.  Seriously.  They are close to being unreadable.  Right up there with Worker in the Light.
