Maybe that was the inspiration for Baretta's catch phrase, "That's the name of that tune."
no, it was during the Blakely murder trial when Robert Blake was making a statement he said, "what do  they want now, maybe they want me to wear my testicles for earrings!" Mark"

Thank you, Rudolph. I must admit I was immediately curious when you said you were interested in a new cosmological model but the idea of a lot of complicated math makes my eyes glaze over. If you like you could start a thread just like this one so you could tell us about your model Or, if you're not familiar with thread creation let me know and I can create it. Just tell me the thread name you'd like.

Aren't you the clever one? :-)

It does both.  It depends upon your location while observing the orbit.

I think rather than relocate the testicle from the ear when the time comes they should relocate the other testicle to the other Ear. What a fashion statement.
And  why Does this remind me of Robert Blake?

The first time I listened to (fill in the blank: hannity, rush, Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, O'Reilly, or Sharpton) I found them so repulsive and repugnant I never watched them again. I'm always puzzled by people who hate so-and-so and then watch them daily. I don't know if that much self induced aggravation is good for one. It almost seems to suggest some form of self loathing.;-)

There are news sources that have little or no bias.

Some of those zeros are fattter than others. Like an Orson Welles zero or  a Marlon Brando zero… as for PRISM,  I like prism, it makes the Internet more colorful.

Yup. I don't find any of this stuff in this thread the least bit intuitive. Every time I think I'm starting to get some issue or concept I find out from agent orange quite the contrary.   I still have no idea why galaxies and solar systems form in a spiral even though both you and Agent Orange took a crack at  telling me why. All I could understand (just based on my own reasoning) is that objectss going through  space at the right speed either get trapped into an orbit or they are going too fast and escape the gravitational pull. Or are going too slow and fall into the gravity source. But this doesn't explain why they are all going (ultimately) in the same direction around the gravity source. For example, why can't the object if captured in orbit go counterclockwise instead of clockwise (be it earth, the sun, or a blackhole in the center Of a galaxy). (Now thatI think about it I guess there are Warkendi planets revolving the opposite way as the rest as long as they are in a safe noncollision orbit.) And yes, I just realized that the issue of all objects revolving in the same direction probably isn't the same issue as  my question about the spiral pattern  of certain galaxies.)

But, we don't have to get into it again right now. I'm just saying not only do I generally not understand agent oranges answers I usually don't understand peoples' questions exactly. Because there are often assumptions in the questions that are undefined or ambiguous. Same with the answers for that matter, I can easily infer something that isn't meant due to my unclarified  or unwarranted assumptions. :-)

Wonderful stories!
Love Carmel! One time on a trip with two friends we went to a restaurant there called "the hogs breath", owned by Klint Eastwood. I love the atmosphere. But one of my friends asked the waitress if Clint was in tonight. She asked nicely why he wanted to know. He said, "it's my birthday!" I was embarrassed because he then got quite disappointed when she told him Clint wasn't in. But we did have a wonderful meal.

I quite often stay overnight in Carmel. Surprisingly cheap rooms. If you scout around.

(Okay, I'm going to partially resend an earlier edict of mine: I had declared a ban on the use of the words "actually" and"basically". People may now use those two words once per conversation. Twice if you feel it's an emergency.

However, there is still a ban on "it is what it is".

Two phrases I am adding  to the ban are "go ahead and" and "proceed to". So rather than say, "I'm going to go ahead and fix the flat," just say, "I'm going to fix the flat."similarly, rather than say, quote she then proceeded to go into the kitchen to get her crack pipe," just say, "she went into the kitchen to get her crack pipe."))

Well, yes. That was my understanding, that time and space are inextricable parts of the same thing. Like, for example, a tapestry has a front and a back. That's why at a certain point they started calling it space-time. Related are the components of gravity and mass.(Mess in it's two states of matter/energy)

I think what makes "time" so confusing is that to our consciousness we know it's relative. A moment for one person may seem like several minutes well to another person 2 feet away it may seem like a millisecond. So, a long time ago they started asking is there any absolute rate of time.

I can understand what a51d is saying above but I agree with zeebo, The rate of time may be variable but I don't think you can reverse it.

Oh shit. This is sad. Love the Rockford files. I grew to love to hate Angel Martin, the little weasel. And Joe Santos, Jim's contact in the police department.

Garner had been plagued with me and joint agony most of his life. RIP, Jim.

I still remember the day when I learned that it is the leaves (on trees) violently wiggling that causes the wind. It's all about causality, gentlemen. Causality.

I think we've had this earlier, they have no idea what is outside the space-time bubble. Could be an infinite ocean of lime Jell-O. Just like they have no idea what is inside a black hole.

Yes, dPS, but as your fuel supply approached infinite mass at least you would have an infinite supply of fuel.

I'm trying to remember if the speed of light constant limits the universes rate of expansion. No matter how good our new giant telescope is we would never see the front wave of the big bang because the universe is expanding as fast or faster than the speed of light so the light rays would never get here. Unless we could cheat by folding space. Which reminds me, I meant to ask Steller about that. He or she has a thread about it. But I could see AO telling me know the speed of light limitation does not relate to the rate of universe expansion because it is inside the bubble and does not pertain to physics outside the bubble. Or he may say it does. It's like the Schrodinger's cat enigma. I can't predict what AO is going to say.

They took a simple concept like EVP and needlessly complicated it with the spiritbox mumbo-jumbo. I'm not surprised they hear voices when scanning the AM/FM bands. That's generally what radio is for.

And, seeing that they mentioned that they can get false positives from radio stations like male voices spontaneously changing to female voices, can we hear a couple examples of what that sounds like compared with a "legitimate" EVP?

For those of us (like me) who felt like this was bunk from the beginning adding all these extra wrinkles isn't any more convincing.
I agree.

The little girls in my class wear these to gym. They really are cute, and so are the girls when I dim the lights and let them cut loose in their light ups. Truth is, I'm jealous. I want a pair to light my way to the bathroom at night.  ;)
bring in your nighttime slippers and I will tape  flashlights to them with masking tape. Old-school. In ancient days when they wanted their  slippers to light up they would just light there bearskin slippers on fire.

HR: yes, love Monterey. Usually I stay overnight in Monterey, poke around and explore the area north and south.

Wanted to add: I think it's Bryce Canyon national Park where you drive through a long long Tunnel that goes through a mountain and come out to the park on the other side below in the canyon. And there is a shuttle bus that takes you down the canyon as far as you want to go and stop wherever you want to get off to see beautiful scenery. 7 miles as I recall. Free shuttle.

I mentioned Key West before. Just wanted to add that I love Key West, it's the opposite of trendy/hot places like Miami. Key West is just so laid-back. There is a street called Duval  that runs north and south and it's full of restaurants and bars. The further north you go the more expensive the Barsket. What people do is a thing called "theDuval  crawl" which is to spend the whole evening going from one bar to the next. at the far south end      of Duval is what's called Mallory Square. And from here is the world famous Southern Sunset view.  around dusk KeyWest makes the cruise ships leave the bay area and go elsewhere so they don't block the beautiful sunset view.

Of course, the Grand Canyon is an excellent vacation destination. As  is Sedona, Arizona. Over the last decade or so Sedona had developed one "vortex" spot where visitors allegedly experienced various paranormal events. But now there are six or seven so called Vortexes. I didn't feel anything. More levelheaded people say if you do experience something paranormal it's more likely  the  dry  desert air. The Canyon Drive between Sedona and Flagstaff is beautiful. But you must remember, as with all these places, you have to get off the main freeway and get on the side roads.

Oh, I wanted to and about Bryce and Zion, when I left those parks the first time I just could not believe how come I had never heard of them before. I thought so magnificent, so relatively unknown.

I plan to get to Zion/Bryce in the near future. I've been wanting to go for awhile. I'm born and raised Alaskan, so I love Alaska, but only in the summer. I also love taking a few days and driving old Route 66 through the panhandle of Texas into New Mexico. My dream vacation is doing a photo shoot in the region around Chernobyl and other Russian/Ukraine abandoned sites, but with all that's gone on recently, I think I'll put that on hold for a bit.
as beautiful as Zion and Bryce are I'm not sure how they will hold up to the natural wild beauty of Alaska. Probably pretty well because the beauty of Bryce and Zion are concentrated and unique. Absolutely photogenic. Which is why I didn't suggest Yosemite, for example. It's huge with lots of great trails but it's beauty is more diffused.

I like route 66 two and I love the desert. But even more I like the West Coast Hwy. up the coast from California to Vancouver! I spend a whole day in Muir Woods and commune with nature. I used to do that trip once a year back when I still had my vision and I would stop in San Francisco for a few days and party. On my last solo trip I took my '78 Transam, the one with the big Firebird on the hood and the shaker scoop.:-)

Bar Tell: yeah, I know what you mean, same sun. But I clearly noticed the golden sunsets were more magnificent in Ixtapa  than they were in key west. I thought maybe either the particles in the atmosphere are different or the fact that one is closer to the equator is somehow relevant.   I haven't a scientific explanation nonetheless the sunsets are spectacular, unlike anywhere else it seems to me. And I wasn't the only one to notice that. It's common knowledge for those who have been there. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it. They have this phenomenon called "the green flash" where very rarely when one is watching the final minutes of the sunset one will see a flash of green just above the horizon.

I've been all over the USA, Mexico, Canada and Europe and for this thread my vote is either Zion national Park or Bryce Canyon national Park. Just beautiful! For a week or two. Utah.

I'll add that the sunsets inIxtapa are among the most beautiful I can remember anywhere. But you would have to get a passport for that.
