Updated erasure list. Got a map. I'm warming up the rusty truck and checking the tool kit.
warm-up the rusty truck? Is that a metaphor for, as Paladin says, rubbing one out?

Do they still have Church's fried chicken? I used to eat that back in the day, too. I think they had a standing deal of 8 pieces of thighs and legsfor $3.99 or something.
no, no more Church's Fried Chicken around here. They left years ago. And if they were here it would be much more than three dollars for eight pieces, it would be more like $14-$16.

The fact that it happened isn't enough?

Does it mean anything that reports say the guy was fired for endorsing the stoning of women, and that he had been trying to convert some women to Islam - then bam out of the blue he is beheading a woman that just went to work that day after, coincidentally, he got fired?

No connecting the dots?

Is it even irrational on any level that any religion on this planet in 2014 PROMOTES BEHEADINGS? Is that not insane?
I agree with you. I was just saying that you called for a stop to it and in order to put a stop to it we have to know all the relevant factors. And it may well turn out to be just as paperboy says, isolate the bad players and clean it up.

LOVE Popeyes fried chicken! But I don't get there anymore, it's way on the other side of town.

How anyone can not be completely horrified by the event leading to the thread title, and turn the conversation into anything other than agreeing, as a society, to put and end to the bullshit that allows this Neanderthal shit to happen, is beyond my comprehension.

Precisely why I post most of the posts I do.
yes. Your threats begin as perfectly good independent topics. But what do you mean "put an end  to it"? Have there been a series of beheadings?  Frankly, I'm not surprised by anything that happens in Oklahoma. I've been there quite often. Beastly state. But we will have to wait until the facts come out to see what kind of environment would allow such a thing. Will you post further details here in this thread as they are revealed?
#216
Yes. I'd like to add that my remarks above should not be taken as criticisms of people's general ability for eloquent and articulate posts. Only that thread after thread becomes a platform for repetitive political  viewpoints.
#217
And thus another thread begins with a somewhat fresh topic concept and quickly collapses into the Standard litany of stale polarized position-rhetoric and hyperbole here at the BellGab politics arena. (Applause and foot stomping)

No matter what the thread titles the posts are all very much the same.

Under The Dome is supposed to be a comedy right?
Steve Gibson, Computer security pundit and famed programmer of SPINRITE, said the book by Stephen King "under the Dome"was great but the TV adaptation was downright horrible. And I affirm the latter. It's like an ongoing soap opera for teenagers.

;D well… Turns out it was a trick question. Siri says it doesn't matter which type of watch it was.
then she said, "there's no time like the present. You are living in an expanded now. "i  have no idea what she's talking about.
#222
A star could collapse into a black hole within seconds. At least that's what Siri just told me. But she was asking me questions about that clock, was it a windup clock or was it running on a battery?

Yes, DK was one of the mysterious deaths of those involved in, or looking into, the murder of JFK.

For your consideration:

Holy shit! Riveting! Just read the whole thing.

I have never been a big fan of DK. I watched these   "What's my line " shows years ago. and  rewatching them now. But I will say one thing, she was really sharp on that panel. a regular Sherlock Holmes, just gifted.

iOS8 is a pile of crap
Have you happened to notice how many people here at BellGab use an iPad? I see vague references to iPads here and there but nothing too definite. The other day I toyed with the idea of creating and iPad thread for iPad users. I'm still on iOS 7.1.2. I don't do upgrades anymore until a week or two has gone by.

For the last two weeks I've been binge listening to "what's my line" from 1950 to, last night,  1956 March. Suddenly yesterday, one of the regular panelist died. Fred Allen. Heart attack. Not on the air but since last weeks episode. The show was moderated by John Daly. Permanent panelists included Bennett surf,  Arlene Francis, Dorothy Kilgallen (A newspaper columnist who apparently died mysteriously in 1965). But I'm only up to March, 1956. I haven't investigated but I believe I read something about accusations that she was connected to the Kennedy assassination somehow and that's why she was killed.

I've been trying to figure out why I find the show so fascinating and compelling. I realized it's because it gives such insight into the way people think and reason, the flaws they make with hasty or  unwarranted assumptions, and conclusions and the way they accuse the moderator of trapping or misleading them when all he was doing was answering their   yes/no questions.

Other celebs who showed up from time to time include Steve Allen, Victor Borge, Hal Bloch, etc. watching these on YouTube.

I spent four years in the military, traveled all over the world, and frankly I found the custom of saluting childish and asinine. I saw all kinds of salutes ranging from snappy crisps and formal to casual and sloppy. No one kind impressed me any more then another one. It's calculated to induce feelings of respect but I noticed it doesn't necessarily achieve the desired effect.

But wait!  In your post just before this one, you insisted that I...

So which is it?
The sense I got from b_dubb was a call for more civility. I can get behind that.

But on this issue of proof that b_dubb alludes to and FTF openly Confidently refutes, I find that disheartening. Because the actual facts of the issue are unambiguous and available to anyone who does the research. All religions have predecessors and Christianity is certainly no exception. The tenets and dogma are borrowed from many many previous religions. Going back into antiquity. So, while I genuinely respect and admire FTF's spirit I'm afraid his or her "facts" are just wrong. Drawn from Finnair from a place inside a belief system. And any scholars cited are also firm believers of that belief system and distort whatever historical or academic writing they analyze or fabricate and exclude external texts. Perhaps a plunge into comparative religions would be helpful for everyone. The eye-opener for me wasn't anyone's teaching or instruction but rather when I saw for myself the beliefs of ancient religions. Another good source for study would be Joseph Campbell's work.
Yes, we are not going to prove anything ear or convert anyone, but it is not the job of DPS or me to convert our educate anyone. You (generic you) are responsible for your own education. Don't just claim a truth that you really don't have. Go out into the world, outside your own belief system, and look for truth with the utmost intellectual honesty you can muster.

At the end of the process you will  have a better Birdseye view: you will see your comforting fantasy cartoon religion that society taught you, and you will also have access to a truer more empirical universe. At that point you can still decide whether you want to enjoy the comfort of a false belief system or can live better with a worldview not based on magic.  For me truth wins out. And by that I mean oh the cartoon imagery of organized religion is basically rubbish and we have to deal with THAT Truth. And emerge into the light of adulthood.

Well, for one thing, it's not a question of people with low IQs getting thrown into ovens. The issue is more of science judiciously and wisely pruning mankind's DNA mechanism, as we stumble on into the future, scrabbling and Clawing, (That scary word) eugenics. Of course there are myriad Issues that must be worked out but the general idea of gently eradicating stumbling blocks in mankind's progress is, I think, a good idea. Beginning with genetic pathologies.

I don't know if you guys have spoke about this but it irritates the hell out of me when we so kindly amounts in the news media weeks ahead of time when and where we're going to strike. Do some of you armchair generals (and I mean this in the nicest way) no why we do this campaign after campaign, war after war? I know back in World War II you could get shot for doing it. There must be some clever reason behind this that eludes me. I mean, the fucking idiots announce it on the nightly news for chrissakes.
Surely they must realize that the smarter and higher ranking terrorist simply spread out and immerse themselves in locals safe surroundings before the bombing starts. I know it was reported that a building got hit last night and over 100 and some "terrorist" died but we don't really know if those were terrorists. They might have been innocent dupes, planted there by the terrorists.

ha! you beat my lifetime time on Facebook by 20 minutes.

Thanks for the link ... I'm still confused though.  This bums me out since I like TC alot.  I still don't know if it's secure or not.  And I don't know if the new iteration, CipherShed, will be something we can really trust or not.

Maybe this can be a future Spec Sheet topic?  I need to know the status, as I simply cannot afford to let my encrypted Super-Fidget blueprints to be comprimised.
I have no facts to base this on but I have a strong hunch that Trucrypt is absolutely safe for everyone except from the MSA.

I see that "The Keep" is now on netflix. I recall strangely liking it but that was long time ago and actually dont recall much of movie but memories of watching. Got it queued but, considering viewer ratings, might not watch. Sometimes movies you see a long time ago arent as "good" as one remembers. Tho recently rewatched "Lets Scare Jessica To Death" and found it even more weird/scary and good. So?
I liked "The keep"! And I remember it very well. Not a profound movie. But highly entertaining and memorable. Not everyone's cup of tea though. For some reason it has faded into obscurity. I suppose because it is in the hokey horror genre. But I thought it was fascinating and riveting.
