Never said I hated them. I said they are pompous, arrogant, and annoying. Just look at Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, etc. And I speak from personal experience. I've had the displeasure of working with lots of Rush fans, and they've invariably been insufferable assholes.

Hrmm...I thought you were with the "us" who allege that Art's stalker story is fraudulent.  No?   :o

No. I'm with ME. And call stupid out sometimes, when I'm bored. The burden of proof is always on the person making the claims. I make no claims. Art has made some claims however. Shifting the burden of proof and/or demanding proof of a negative is always a fools errand, in a debate. Such tactics prove that your opponent has a weak argument, or no argument at all.

Why would I waste my time second guessing and speculating about Arts story? I don't need to prove anything. Arts actions speak volumes. His actions are the proof.

Uhm, no.  Your making an allegation of fraud - that's a positive not a negative.  Your side of this debate has nothing but innuendo and subjective interpretations of circumstantial evidence to substantiate that charge, which is worthless.  If there was a reasonable case to be made for fraud, it went out the window when the Sheriff's Office posted the reports online.  That's actual evidence, and it trumps the "rumor mill."  Thanks for playing.

^ See previous comments.  All of the actual evidence confirms the story.  No actual evidence contradicts it.  Unsubstantiated suspicions do not constitute evidence.  Simple.

Damn - your post just rendered mine redundant.  Good to see you again Stardust Ancestor, and your dead horse too ;

Prove he lied bitch. Or shutthefuckup. And keep trying with your insults toward me if that makes you feel better about yourself. Nice try -- but try again. But thanks for trying.

What do I have to prove? A negative? I don't do fools errands, thanks. Nice try on your part. Keep trying though, even a broken clock is right twice a day. If you don't want insulted, try not to insult others.

I don't have to prove anything, one way or the other. As I've never really said I don't believe Arts story. In fact, I'm smart enough to skip all the second guessing. It's not worth my time whatsoever picking Arts story apart. Thats time I can spend on LULZing at your ilk, and fapping to moar important things.

I simply take his story at face value, conclude it's 100% true. Then measure his own words and actions against his narrative. He felt it was Sirius enough to quit his radio show immediately, okay I don't blame him. Blowing up everything related to the show in his wake. However, he didn't think it Sirius enough to provide a safety buffer of distance, giving extra protection to him and his family. Letting his girls tough it out with him on the homestead, scrutinizing every sound and car passing by. Getting the females and/or offspring away from a danger zone is basic instinctual behavior in most higher mammals. That tells me all I need to know about how Sirius Art takes the threat to him and his family.

He wants to shift the burden of proof on us, by asking us to prove a negative.
In his mind hes playing a bloody brilliant game of chess.

I imagine Catsmile to have a dossier on everyone on Bell gab with everything they've ever said on the site or the various podcasts ready to use against them. No wonder he's constantly pimping the phone numbers in the live threads.

Yes you imagine quite a lot. If you read what I typed as mean spirited, that says more about you than it does me. I was simply speaking from experience as a failed business owner. Shit like Art Bell, getting laid, sleeping never hit my radar while I was working for myself. I was simply 2 busy.

Reflecting on my previous experience, if I were ever so successful to have a company with 70 plus employees, Art Bell, or a thread about Art Bell wouldn't amount to a hill of beans in my life. Even less so if my company was having problems due to current international economic conditions. But thats just me, hence why I said "if I had a company". Chefist may feel differently and hes more than welcome to tell me so, or tell me to fuck off if he feels the need. No ill will was intended, I was trying to be succinct and honest. If that came off as brutal in text. I apologize for my lack of diplomacy.

I like chefist even though hes a "Noobie" that missed the Art Bell Quits Dark Matter days. This thread, website, went to "shit" back then also. Give it time, it gets better. A forum is only as good as what the community gives it's power to. Be it good or bad. It's not Daddy MV, or Art Bells job to make this forum good or bad. Only forum members have that power.

A dossier on everyone here? Yes, It's between my ears. Sorry if me retaining what I read in a medium thats open to the public disturbs others. Seems you are expanding your dossier beyond Falkie, and trying to slam new member of the forum nao. Pot calling the kettle black? It's always fun watching baby take it's first steps, and expanding their horizons.

It probably is best suited to politics- but this thread is already a train wreck...

I suppose I ask what "makes a right a right" because I actually did head through the museum of human rights when I was in Winnipeg.  Interestingly, even they never dare to actually answer that question.

I guess that my point was simply that words on paper make a nice starting point- give a nice idea of what a society does (or at least wants to) believe at a given point in time.  However, the idea of an actual right should go beyond simply saying that because the constitution says I have a certain right, I do...

It also raises the question of Basic human right vs. constitutionally guaranteed right.  Perhaps that paper and laws are all that you can hold onto when considering your constitutionally guaranteed rights- but the basic rights should run much deeper...And I suppose that I would at least like to believe that the right to free speech falls into the "basic" human rights category where it should be extended to all world citizens regardless of what their governments decree or what paper a dictator or king happens to sign in some little banana republic.

That's it.  Enough thinking and time for slumber.  G'night.

All of that sounds good to me.

Vote WOTR 2016!

Listen friend, you didn't comprehend my original post, but you chose to respond to me anyway. You didn't comprehend my explanation, or the exchange I had with slippingaway, if you read that, but you insist on more nonsensical, snappy comebacks. If you don't understand the point in question, don't try to debate it. And don't resort to insults. Just back away and go about your business. This topic is not for you.

You don't comprehend Rights, Privileges, and the Law. So... you got nothing. I see. Feel free to post often.

The major problem with your evidence is that it is just written words.  I will not disagree that these are "rights", but it makes you start to question what a right is, and when something becomes a right and how fragile that may be.

If a couple of hundred fat, rich men (and women) in Washington get together tomorrow and put their pen to paper taking away the right of free speech, does it cease to exist?

I somewhat worry when I see somebody use written laws and the constitution to justify their position that something is a right because of how easily it can (apparently) be taken away.  (For fun, look at the Japanese experience during WWII).  Before the 13th amendment, were African Americans really only 3/5 of a person because that was what was written on paper?

Anyhow, I do not fundamentally disagree with your position that free speech is a right... But I do disagree on the reasons that it is such.

It's not my evidence it's what the USA was founded upon. And they are just words, and they have been broken. However that is a very different topic, bet suited for the Pollyticks board. If the people disagree with those words they need to add an amendment.

I may not agree with what some members have posted on BellGab. At the same time I have not seen anything posted against the TOS, or breaking any speech laws in the USA. If Art feels differently he has the means to deal with it legally. Which will be an uphill battle all the way, most likely.

Art wanting/seeking members to dox another member here so things can be "taken care of one way or another" was poor form at best, verging on a real life threat of harm, at worst. That had me clutching my pearls more than anything posted on this thread in weeks. If Art deals with people the same way in real life... Well, I could see why many people would be possible "stalkers and terrorist" around his home town/ neighborhood.

I may not agree with an idea or message, but it is every persons right to express ideas freely without fear of being unduly prosecuted.

Virtually all rights in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution are limited rights, not absolute rights. The courts and the USSC are constantly interpreting those rights and their limits, especially where they appear to conflict with each other. Go to school, learn something, then come back and talk to me. School's out for tonight.

Where did I say they were absolute? Thatz your knee jerk straw man concoction, attempting to squelch some on this forum, who apparently have you grabbing your pearls in faux indignation. You don't need school to see through your transparent motives.

Oh, and by the way, I'm in a fairly pissy mood so I'll just take advantage of it to make the following point.

To all of you tireless defenders of the First Amendment and the right of free speech, let it be known that the biggest threat to that right continues to be people who abuse it. And if you don't understand how free speech can be abused and why it's a problem, you are part of the problem. And now, I need food. I'm cranky but the point stands.

The point of you wanting to silence those that you don't agree with?

Kinda fucked up to begrudge Art for taking his daughter out to see what might have been her first snowfall.  I don't care if it's the middle of the night or not. If Asia was really so traumatized then an impromptu midnight snowball fight at the Bell compound might be a good first step in regaining some sense of normalcy.  It's no Disneyland, but that little memory is powerful and I'm sure it won't be forgotten.
