I tuned in recently....I'll take your word.  His pic on Art's site reminded me of douchey people.  Plus I'm intimidated by his forehead.  Nonetheless I've heard him several times.  I dig him.

It's been good. Hoag should be good too, Asimov discussion.

Been a good night. Auerbach has been interesting.

The cult of the Vaguely Lovable Voluptuous Virgins is being formed also  [spoiler]. That's an Art Bell cult though.

Something tells me that there's some damaged goods walking around in that crowd . . .

It appears that I need to stop limiting myself to these live threads and venture out on the board more often.  It seems that since Art returned most of my time is spent on these threads and I miss the birth of whole new religions.

Art started one too in the thread. It's turned out a bit prudish though. In Hoagslam we know how to party.

Hey I'm in Florida!, well, I'm in Key West, we dont even consider being part if the USA.

Nice, I love the keys. I lived in Satellite Beach for a while in the space coast. But Florida must be destroyed, it's part of the Hoagland cult that formed up in the Art Bell thread. Some "extremist" suggested that because the state of Florida wouldn't let Hoagland accutron the Miami Circle that the whole state needs to be nuked in revenge. Unfortunately Albrecht the heretic thinks we're going too far.

I think there needs to be some nuance with regard to shooting things. If one is shooting them in some frustration or rant, there might be an issues. For fun? There is, usually, also a location issue. Shoot it in your house? Or taking it out to a field and shooting it for fun and target practice?

Unless you're shooting Florida. All Hail Hoagland!

Two guests tonight it appears. Amy Morton of Dark Matter News and *whoa* Tim Underwood. That man is truly a titan in the science fiction publishing world. If you like Jack Vance, that's going to be a hell of an interview.

I'm really enjoying the show tonight (to all you people who whine about my negativity  :P).

You're being too positive! The world ain't all rainbows and koalas.

j/k, yeah, it's good listening tonight.

Its trendin on Facebook and other sites, its her but i assume she must have gotten heavy into drugs after she got booted from voyager.

Something bad happened, she just dropped off the face of the earth after she got fired. Rarely appeared at conventions, which is like throwing money away to an ex-Trek actor. That shit's a gold mine for them.

Please tell me Falkie isn't one of the BellGab Dirty Dozen.  How do we end up on this island?  A Hoagland Crusader Cruise with Skipper Jazmunda and an Inuit navigator?  "Hold, hold on Capt. Jazz, I know the Sun is out there somewhere..."

Falkie will be contained on his own island, where spends his time cleaning it but never seems to make any progress. I'm thinking a small plane. That way we can open the show with Art standing around on the island in an immaculate white suit with Hoagland jumping up and down yelling "Ze plane! Ze plane!"

Also working on Bellgab:Apprentice where 12 Bellgabbers compete to become radio hosts. Sort of like Trump, but the contestants get random electrical shocks when they suck.

he said, and I quote, "If you haven't already done so, get on it! And it will be apparent why."  hmmmmm

Maybe they will combine the subscription of MITD and RCH in the future with a little higher price?

I'm guessing they're adjusting the rates but adding content to the service somehow. Perhaps a 24 hour Hoagcam or something about the weekends. Personally, I'd recommend pay-per-view events such as "Hoagland wrestles a greased baboon" and "Bellgab Survivor: 12 Bellgabbers on an island with only one  bottle of booze, four cigarettes and a sandwich".

Braaps, off to put on a twilight zone episode and crash with the GF. To all a good braaps and a good braaps to all.

I glanced through most of it.  Can't be real can it?

It's a good question, I don't know. My publisher mentioned something close to it to me so I went googling, but I don't know if it's really true or not. But at least it's funny as fuck.

not sure but i did find this weird ass website

http://www.vipfaq.com/Richard%20C.%20Hoagland.html

That website burnt out my retinas! How about this one!

Go down about a third of the way to the Faces of Mars.

"Hoagland actually wrote much of Monuments in LA County jail."

Right On.
Elon has to be very careful what he says in interviews. 90% of the news and info about him constantly rips on him. I'd be damn shy myself if I was in his shoes. You ought to see some of the derisive posts about him on LinkedIn. Of course most of those posters and news agencies are from the idiot pool anyway. Elon should fit right in here. At least he'll be dealing with people that have some intelligence.

That's what I'm thinking. The poor guy is "deer in the headlights" in the mainstream. Here, he'd fit.

Man, Van Flandern, talk about a blast from the past. We don't really have people like that anymore. Credible pseudoscientists.

I think so, yes.

I could see that working out.  I think Musk has that weird streak.  They may hit it off.

I suspect this as well. Musk is not a great interview for most mainstream interviewers, he's shy and sometimes bizarre. But with Hoags he might loosen up and get comfortable.

I'm digging the DIY undergound science approach.

Yeah, I'm good with it too.

At least Distler comes across as authentic.
#7492
Victoria Keating. Weird, I saw her open up for Jethro Tull once. Pretty decent folk musician.
#7493
I kinda like Distler. His idea may or may not work, but the basics are there. EM drives do seem to be possible.

I will say this every nite if I must.  The music for Hoagie's show should be all instrumental.  Ambient, moody stuff e.g. electronic jazz fusion mysterious strangeness.  It's after midnight, vocals just don't work.  Atmospheric soundscapes are required.  Along with random skype sounds.

Needs to be death metal with random Skype sounds.
#7495
I think the music is great. A bit low in the voice, but nice rhythm and lyrics.

i never took it away, ever think whomever was calling has stopped???

You stole Hoagland's phone! I hate you!
#7497
I like it. Hoagland's keeping up on his guest's work and having them back as warranted. It's very organic.

Woah, Hoagland just got attacked by a trash can or something.
#7498
It won't last long. Hoagland's political statements tend to be short.
