Some guy called in to Heather last Friday(?) and tried to criticize her. It was basically "You suck...errr...you suck...umm you suck..."
It was so bad, I felt bad for the caller and not Heather.
I'm not saying I agree with him or disagree with him, but if that's what they are bringing to the table, Heather is going to win.

Yeah, he sucked ass. Couldn't muster anything after she called him on it.

Why would it 'take balls" to call into the show and tell Art you dont believe him? to question his version of events and where they dont make much logical sense? What would that accomplish?

Had I called in and questioned Art, how long do you think I would have been given and what authority would I have to actually get answers from Art? Art wasnt there for an interrogation and no matter what his feet werent going to be held to the fire.

What we got was a damn good interview which was far better than it would have been with assholes like myself and others calling in to ask the same questions and hear the same stock response and then argue about it.

It doesnt 'take balls' to troll someone, question someone or tell someone you think they're lying over the phone. I doubt anyones reasons for not doing  so had to do with cowardice.

You're a silly and angry man sci-fi... even by your own admission the only real detractor who did call in didnt get very far and was a waste of valuable time . like i said in another thread, there is a time and a place for everything and that interview wasnt the time or the place.

Well, you had the chance to call in and talk to the guy and address the shit you've been spewing. You didn't. Why? Simple answer please, don't fucking text wall it.

Let's dispel this fiction once and for all that Art Bell doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing; he's undergoing a systematic effort to change this website and make BellGab more like the rest of the internet. If ignored we'll embrace what makes BellGab the greatest website in the world.

No balls.

So let's dispel this fiction once and for all that Art Bell doesn't know what he's doing. Art Bell knows what he is doing at all times. he knows this because he knows what he isn't doing. By subtracting what he is doing from what he isn't, or what he is not doing from what he is doing (whichever is greater), he obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive Art Bell from what he is doing to what he hasn't done yet, and arriving at a position where he wasn't doing, he now is. Consequently, what he is doing, is now what he wasn't doing, and he follows that the doing that he was, is now the doing that he isn't.

In the event that the position that he is in is not the position that he wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between what Art Bell is doing and what he wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, he too may be corrected by the GEA. However, Art Bell must also know exactly what he was doing before.

Art Bell's systematic effort to change this website works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information Art Bell has obtained, he is not sure just what he is doing. However, he is sure what he is not doing, within reason, and he knows what he was doing. He now subtracts where he should be from where he wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of what he shouldn't be doing, and what he is, he is able to obtain the deviation and its variation error, which is called making BellGab more like the rest of the internet.

Fuck Art Bell, this is about you. I want to see if you can verbally and credibly make that argument with your voice.

Okay, volunteer to host when MV announces the next gabcast and present that idea to him. I'll be waiting to see if you do that.

I see the thread has almost hit bottom after nobody had the balls to call into the gabcast and take Art on directly other than Hoagland's stalker . . . four times. Some people here need to man up and grow a set. I guess the real bottom will be Art Bell related fart and turd humor.

I really enjoyed this guest, he was right up my alley so to speak but there are two problems. The first is that if you try to tell people what the mid-term to long-term future will be you either get utter disbelief to the point that you might as well be talking about bigfoot, or you get the "futurists are always wrong, we never got the flying car" crowd which are guilty of not paying attention to tech development. Most of the things the guest mentioned are already in development, but comparatively few know about it. I don't know how to change that, but it's an uphill battle to be sure.

The second problem is that he was waaaaaaaaay too optimistic about the social effects of the beginning of the transhumanist age. It will be a complete nightmare as every human social construct gets crushed. Religion will be irrelevant overnight, no form of economy can exist when the means of production moves to the individual, the political system is short-term and reactionary, it is not good at long-term forward thinking, and so on. Futurism sounds nice, until it collapses your society.

Great guest nonetheless. Kudos to Bateman for the foresight to take the transhumanism subject on.

Much like how I love that you have not commented on the "accounting" you so vehemently sought me to bring forward. :)

No, I just asked a simple question so that you could establish some kind of credibility for your position. That was step one for allowing your story to make sense to other people, because otherwise you just appear to have conned a bunch of people out of money from the outset.

This is like saying that you're glad that crap floats. Why? Why not hope that it sinks sooner rather than later and helps to replenish the Earth's nitrogen and methane supplies?

Have you ever had anyone say to you in life "I hope you fail"? What benefit to you or anyone else is there in the network folding? It's just negativity for negativity's sake. Seems stupid.

I can't believe people are still bitching about Art. The guy came on Gabcast did a great show with MV apologized to his fans admitted he made a mistake in the way he left. What more could you possibly want from him? If you really think he is a lying about everything and that he is a shitty person why do you even bother to come here? It's not as if that opinion hasn't been stated 1000 times already.

+1. I just hope the guy is able to live in safety and come back on the air at some point.

Huh? It was an outdated uranium reactor in a dangerous place. It has nothing to do with the documentary.

What part had any bearing on Fukushima?

I hope you’re right.  It’s always a race between the rapidly ballooning crises that we face from the dearth of responsible long-term planning, and the ingenuity of human innovation.  I lose a lot of sleep over which side will win, as the alarming web of impending catastrophes converge on our rapidly arriving future.  I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but radical advancements in nearly every area besides communications and computing have been eerily quiescent in recent decades.  We may yet prevail, but a lot of hair is coming out in clenched fists at three in the morning, and every day that passes, the bell tolls a little bit louder…

I envy the assurance you find in your optimism, I truly do.

You just don't know about the coming advances. For some reason they don't get much attention like they once did. I recommend a documentary, watch "Cool It". It's on Netflix I think.
