It's pretty damn odd.

I think it's a failed attempt at creativity...lol.

It's like listening to a schizo.

What do my fellow bell gabbers think of true crime stories as a topic for Art's show?  I like true crime stuff, but I'm not sure if it fits with Art's style.  I don't remember Art doing that type of show before.

Basically I'd trust Art's instincts on a topic--he's proven.  If he likes something, go for it.  We can throw things out but I'd trust Art to pick out what he likes and disregard the rest.  And even then as Art says--not everything works but Art has a good batting average.

uhhh.  ok.  Thanks 'Art."

I think it is to your advantage to allow cussing on your new show.  I think not be able to cuss is a, what's with this unconditional/uncomfortable annoying, "oh shit, I've got to make sure I DON'T cuss when I'm on MITD," rule.  Just crappy ordering that.  I mean I think some guests have cussed but I can't remember specifics but I'm sure they felt unconfortable after doing it.  Im listening to Graham Hancock cussing right now.  He happens to enjoy saying, shit.

He's right--Art said on Dark Matter that one of his few rules in no cussing.   Art was firm on it--I think Art can handle how he wants to run his show...he doesn't really need much advice, he's great at what he does.  As a bunch of others have said--if you need cursing on your shows then there are plenty of alternatives.

Maybe its time to spill the beans if "the masses" are getting upset.  The inside
scoop isn't that important/funny anymore, is it?

I think you are probably spot on about this, actually.  No need to create hard feelings over a minor thing.  All Art Bell fans should be on the same page and united for Art and his new show...instead of making some feel to be on the outside...even though it's not true.  Perception becomes reality.

I know it is like a tease but it is good news though I can not talk about it so I was faced with saying nothing or simply reporting good news. I chose to report. I don't keep secrets well.

Just glad things are positive and looking good, Art.

MV, that's exactly what I'm referring to:D On youtube there is this 4-part saga from Ventura interviews by O&A, it lasts about 15 hours in total. I actually cannot decide which part of it is the best - the steaming and boiling Jim Norton flying around Ventura like a mosquito or the ridicule by Anthony in the following days after the incident

Ventura is just a dumb meathead with some silly paranoia--he was good on wrestling and b action movies...but he is ridiculous politically with his extremism.

I hope we can make the July date but it could slip because we are waiting for the final paperwork and I do not want to order all this stuff and start building till we have it signed. I have a Wife who wants a trip to the Philippines before I go on air so time is a issue. Phone lines, T1 and a lot more. I guess we have no hard deadline but I am not a patient person.

It's all good Art--taking time to get it right and to be ready to take off smoothly.

one thing i'd recommend is that you go with your instincts, art.  i think most people really have no idea what they want or like until it's done.

I TOTALLY agree--nice to get feedback Art but I trust your instincts on what to pick most of all.

What I hate is Alex Jones type paranoia that the government is out  to kill and imprison us.  I've always been proudest of you Art for not allowing that nonsense on your show...as opposed to Dave.

I did not flash part 2 last night because Dave was on here. Perhaps tonight, shortly after 10PM P.T.

On another subject: Please list your favorite show. That will be very interesting and will help in knowing what direction to go.

Art

Well Art--I always liked when you had Linda Moulton Howe on you guys explored the strange subjects in a reportorial way.  Also like subjects that went into the meaning of life issues and areas.

Well will be gone most of the day:

Can Art, MV or ANYONE send me a PM with Art's message?  Please, please--would be greatly appreciated!  I missed all the action.

Art--about 9 to 12...it's the perfect time!  It fits in with MiTD and as you always said the show always needs to be originally broadcast at night--gives us the mood and magic.  With the added bonus of going against Dave--like shooting fish in a barrel!

I've never heard the guys on here with their podcasts but they certainly have fans here.  I'll have to give a listen.

Personally I'd love Ian Punnett to come out of health related retirement to back up Art every rare once in a while.

Beyond Coast, God, that is sooo tempting but I won't do it. Midnight in the Desert is most likely the winner. As for Crystal Gayle's song I will use it as a close forever but for a open I need energy and See Saw really does it for me. If I am not going to use the chase then I sure don't want to just use something that sounds like it. I don't copy.

Thought of few more ideas:

Show title--Eternal Midnight

Intro Music--if go for instrumental, something by Tangerine Dream.  OR some of the electronic soundtrack music by John Carpenter of the 70's or 80's...Halloween, Assault on Precinct 13, Escape from New York, The Fog, The Thing.  The music is cool, sparse, downbeat and very moody.

Ok I have a idea, how about a poll at the top:

Best name for the show

Dark Matter

Midnight in the Desert

The Art Bell show

Cool Art, a poll...I like Midnight in the desert BUT I still like Dark Matter better.  Love that you're interacting and bouncing ideas off fans BUT don't listen to us too much!

Go with your gut and not group think or democracy...I feel the show ultimately is in the safest hands with Art at the Wheel--sure you may get some good feedback at times but I trust your inner compass more than what may be popular in this corner or that corner.

That said off the top of my mind--I do like Ride My Seesaw as an intro.  Also think Question(aka  Looking for a Miracle) also by the Moody Blues would be an outstanding intro song.  Outstanding.

Art--since Dark Matter is free and clear...would you possibly go back to that title?  I'm one of those who thought it a really good title for your show...succinct and apt.

Ok, let's clear something up, I just checked with somebody who knows and "they" do own all my old shows including the ones done before the sale. However they do NOT own Dark Matter shows, so I have no idea where they came up with that. Plus I would like to stress as strongly as possible that since my dear Mother passed I own all my own baby pictures and you can damn well keep your over reaching hand off them.
