Speaking of great paranormal returns--first we get the Great Art Bell AND now the return of The X-FILES:

coming back probably next Summer(or maybe a little earlier) for 6 episodes with Scully and Mulder.  The stars are aligning folks, the stars are aligning.

How about agree to disagree on Ian and move it to the Ian Punnett thread since this is the Art Bell thread--lol.

Now Art--there is one fine, damn broadcaster!

Could not stand him on Coast for all the reasons described above. One of the most cringe-inducing things he did was asking callers "where are you taking us next?" It was like he was hosting a children's fantasy program.

I was fine with the "where you going to take us next."  To each their own.

Well there are a lot of pro and con for Ian here--unlike the almost all positive for Art and all negative for Noory.  Ian seems in the middle...not too bad.

Well, to each his own. I thought he was an ego maniac, extremely proud of pretending to know more arcana than his guest. Just set me off, cause he almost never shut the hell up and listened. Always wanted to oversteer the boat. Noory is less aggravating to me than Ian. I hope this doesnt get me banned for life

I agree with Laserjock--Ian was fine and not at all egotistical when interviewing.  Art's the best but Ian was very good as was George Knapp.

Would be an interesting guest--though I think he is largely full of shit.

No I am not a guy who sees conspiracy around every corner, I was kind of joking when I said I thought I had seen thrown games. It just feels that way sometimes when you favorite team loses at the last second, lol

Art

Which is why you can see past the Alex Jones type nonsense--kudos to you.  Open to high strangeness but with feet firmly planted on the ground.

They keep saying that and they keep failing to get a team.

It could still take a couple of years but according to Chris Mortenson and others they are finally getting close with the stadium and deals in LA.  We shall see.

If l.a. Doesnt have one Las vegas isn't getting one. I think san antonio or Austin gets the next relocation. It is freaking exploding around here. 300 people move in to Austin PER DAY.

Well the latest is LA will end up with 2--probably the Rams and Chargers.  That leaves the Raiders stuck and maybe Jacksonville.

Why not NFL in Las Vegas? We had XFL and there were no problems with betting. We are a big city now, it's not fair.

Art

I agree!  But when listening to the NFL insiders(on radio+TV) they always discount Vegas because they say the NFL doesn't want the gambling association.  Even though they are being phonies about it.

Vegas would be great to have an NFL franchise BUT supposedly the league doesn't want the gambling association.  Even though they know they benefit from gambling!  LA though looks like it WILL get 2 NFL teams.

I always try to believe the best of people but I guess I should be more careful, some people seem to be just full of poison, I wonder what happens to somebody that turns them into such negative nasty people? I don't expect most of you to even understand what I mean by this. Most of the people here are good folks but I guess like any group some rotten fruit is on the tree.

Anyway today should be a interesting day as we get closer to some kind of resolution with our partner. I will be spending time later today listening to all the music you all have posted and again, thank you.

Art

Yep--unfortunately Art, there are always dicks around and the net certainly attracts them.  You see them in any group in the net--and anonymity just makes them worse.

Just so you know, the vast majority here are big time pushing for and supporting you.  Can't wait to hear your announcement!  Mega good luck!

He isn't to everyone's taste, but I enjoyed the time when he put Steve Quayle in his place a bit. Quayle was rambling on his usual way (giants, end of the world, what people don't understand is...zzzz) and Punnett told him he didn't believe a word of it and he was just frightening people. You've got to respect someone who does that.

Absolutely.  Some complaining that Ian made himself the show over his guests missed the point imo--he just didn't let nonsense go unquestioned.  Much like Art himself.

I want to thank you all for the ideas but we are just about all set, it is a very exciting feeling. I think the future looks bright indeed, nothing comes easily but if you persist it gets done.

Art

Great, Art!  Do your own thing--I'm sure you don't need our advice to run a great show.  BY THE WAY--so it's a new week and as Art said, the big announcement may be here very soon!

No it's not a deal breaker at all. Plenty we can use and we will add new stuff as well, no big deal. A few heartbreakers for sure but we can ask the record labels one at a time for those.

Art

Cool.  Whenever you want to go after some classics--i'll vote for SOME VELVET MORNING then.  That's one that's really associated with you.  I discovered that one from you.  Other than that one can't of one that is that obvious off the top of my head.

After a fast look it seemed to me that about 85% are ok, there will be a few problems but it's doable.
The music industry is just a mess.

Art

Hell 85% ain't bad...ain't bad at all.  Even without Lee Hazelwood.

Ha, well in fact I am like MOST of you. I have a pretty sharp sense of humor, a bit twisted, sure we share a lot of traits. I am not bothered by people who come at me on or off the air, I kind of enjoy it, that's a bit twisted for sure.

Again today I can report good news without saying what it is and very soon now, like I think next Week I will be able to tell you of a signed contract which will include:

A FREE stream from 9PM- 12AM Mon-Fri
Worldwide coverage
All my music post 1972 (thanks Turtle's)

We have a email into Moody Blues.

If you do a bit of reading you will figure out what I am talking about.

Art

It's all looking good.  So music post 1972?  Well we will survive easily if we don't get everyone of your classic favorites...a great majority of them will certainly do.  But I would miss 1967's SOME VELVET MORNING.

Art

Just my take Art--but were it me I'd keep my home base and home free of fans and supporters.  I'm sure the vast majority are just cool and fine--but we don't need any MISERY situations!

Hey they are getting ready to put a Woman on the $20 Dollar bill, no doubt if will have to be a dead Woman but why not put a babe on, who do you think would hit the spot, so to speak?

Art

I'll give a totally un-pc answer--20's are often the currency of strippers(they say!), so put Gypsy Rose Lee on the $20!  Dead and historical.

On this I was always with you--being a huge music lover.  It adds magic to the show.  Always thought that you, the music and your man Ross Mitchell added the certain special flavor that your show had.  Crossing my fingers you are able to get Ross also.
