Thank you for keeping this going as long as you have, linden2k. I'm most grateful for having been able to enjoy it.

Entitled jogger a-holes that insist on running in the middle of the road...especially at 5 AM. Sheesh pal, you were one inch away from a nice little park you could exercize in until you fall over from exhaustion. Thanks for making me swerve into the other lane to avoid hitting you. Do you have absolutely no sense of self-preservation?

I try to be hopeful, but I keep seeing more and more of this stupidity as time goes by...

Seeing that shot of MV's cute kid made me smile. Thanks for posting it.

Love the "Blap" P*B! You do great sound effects too.

Seems like an "art imitates life" moment you captured.

Which makes this talk about increased "terror chatter" even more ominous.

A 9/11 type event could seriously affect Art's new program. "Real world" topics taking precedence over Ufology etc. That would blow.

Concur Mr Coyle. I'm hoping Art's new show follows the old one as much as possible.

I'm going to echo the comments of a few others:

I'm thrilled Art's back! The "ride" to the announcement was a blast!

However, there's no way I can listen live with my schedule and the high cost if Sirius is not in my budget. Hopefully there'll also be a more reasonable web presence somewhere that I can use to listen to/download his shows after they're broadcast uplinked.

Even if I end out catching none of it except for comments made here, I'm happy at the unexpected good news and wish Art the very best of luck.

For the longest time I thought he was hocking something called "PSOX" written in edgy, hard-to-read graphics that might be a treatment for varicose veins.

A question to the group...clicking on the "I" on "Incoming Message" leads us to "the Chase" - which is the opening music for Noory's Coast to Coast AM.

Why do you think Art would select this, if it is only associated with C2C?  He would not be able to use "the Chase" for a new program that was separate from C2C.  I know this is conjecture, but do think this implies a C2C connection to his "Incoming Message?"  Or, is this just his connection to the past when he was at the helm?  Thoughts?

I think it's a nod to the old days, given how he feels about the current state of C2C.

Driton and Williedee:
I can upload things to Youtube and I know a bit of html for blogging but I'm incurably lame on understanding all these file types and streams, however, while fairly quickly looking through your list of shows, you seem to be missing the Malachi Martin interviews. I do have all seven of his appearances in mp3 format and the dates seem to be fairly close to what is titled "Exorcism" in your lists. Though I don't have the discs in front of me, the dates don't seem to quite fit with what I have. Maybe off the top of your heads, you'll know if you have all the Martin interviews, and if not I would be glad to pass them on to you (although I can't imagine they all aren't on Youtube somewhere). But if you're interested, there you go!  :)

There were seven shows with Father Martin? I think I've only got two of them, 4/4/97 and 5/4/98. The combination of Art and Father Martin made for incredibly radio. Is there any way I can find the five I'm missing or does anyone know dates for them?

My local, early morning news-weather-and-traffic station keeps running these loud "Viagra only $3 a pill! Buy now!!!" ads. These would be annoying anytime but they seem moreso with coffee at 0-dark-30.

Sheesh. Are there really that many limp dicks out there?
#132
I think Art could bleed of half, maybe two thirds of C2C's audience. I imagine many listen because they remember the old days with Art, and even though it sucks now, if one can't access the old shows, the new ones might be good for a bit of nostalgia.

C2C will be left with only the old ladies, crackpots and mentally-challenged who love Jorch.

One World Government/Big Brother conspiracy theories never fail to entertain and amuse me.

Sheesh they can't even enforce the speed limit on the Parkway, so how can they possibly control everyone?

JB & his ilk, always good for a laugh.

This annoys me.
People who go to someones house to pick them up, sit on their fat-asses in the driveway and honk the car horn till they come out.
You can't get up and walk to the door so we are not all subjected to the noise? That really annoys me.

This +1,000. Happens at least five times a day here. I live in an a-hole infested neighborhood.

Given what we know of Jorch's tastes, Night Train is probably his beverage of choice.

Coaster made two videos that almost proves it:

George Noory's Rambling on Coast to Coast Am

George Noory's Rambling on Coast To Coast Am Part 2

Some of the slurring in these videos leave no doubt. Glug. Glug.

Oh my lord! I've got to give Jorch credit. I never laughed as hard at Art.

Or anyone else.

I think it all adds up to Jorch has some form of dementia and a very good agent.

I like the idea of tossing some of his dumb questions back at him. I think he'd just laugh if you asked about Art or go with the stock "Gee the guy never writes (not that Jorch can read)." Art's currently not working and turning into more of a footnote in radio history with each passing day. If I were Jorch, I'd just smile all the way to the bank.

Hard to argue with that, Ruteger.

Politics / Re: Zimmerman Riots?
July 21, 2013, 08:34:18 AM
The playing up of this Zimmerman thing is really starting to get to me. Not only is it still being splashed all over CNN but now Yahoo News and the AP wire have jumped on the bandwagon. No one that knows me would call me right-wing, (Progressive with limited Libertarian sentiments is more like it) so if this media hype hasn't convinced me, then whatever the Trayvon Martin "cause" is has lost a good chunk of the left. I've spoken with many friends about this who cover a lot of the racial and political spectrum and we all agree that the jury has spoken, now everyone else needs to accept that and shut up.

From 1997 on. I was dating this girl who was a big fan of Art and radio in general.

The Brewster Buffalo is indeed a much maligned aircraft. Interestingly, Pappy Boyington said he thought earlier versions of the Buffalo were better than the early P-40s. He thought the Buffalo was more maneuverable, at least until they started adding more armor, etc. to it which made it heavier.

I've got a C-Crane Freeplay Plus I bought in the late '90s that's still going strong. The hand-crank charger is very useful when the lights go out. Maybe I paid too much, but at the time I could afford it and I hadn't heard of any other AM/FM/SW radios with a light, solar charger and hand charger.

Now that I've posted this, it'll probably die on me.

I believe B-17s and B-24s carried the same .50s that were in P-47 & P-51 fighters. As to the cannon armed Hurricanes, they were relegated to night fighter and fighter/bomber duties partly because the cannons degraded their performance and newer, faster aircraft were becoming available to take over as pure fighters.

I'm not in the least jealous. I just think Boory's made C2C unlistenable.

The guy hosting the local bowling for dollars show back in the 70's was better.
#147
Obviously nobody at Premiere gives a crap.

I'm glad I bagged on C2C a while ago.

...not realizing that most of the people who buy and use Kingsford are of an age that they instead knew the original music from the 80's, and instead would associate their product with massively gay Euro-sexual New Wave trash like this, in which nobody ate anything, ever, and certainly no grilled meats...
<snip>

This made me smile. I came of age in the 80s and I was known for throwing parties. One  January, I had a party where I grilled roasts outside while it was snowing. A ton of people showed up and for years afterwards, often when I'd meet someone they'd ask "Your the guy that had that party with the BBQ and the band playing in your bedroom, right?"

I was more punk than New Wave though...
