Whoa! The KFI pre-show chat was about Art. IIRC Conway asked Jorch if he was friends with Art, which sounded like it caught him off guard. He said "Well...we're different." He went on to say Art gave him "one word" of advice when he took over - "Don't copy me." One word, huh Jorch?  ::) Conway then asked if he ever visited Art's place in Pahrump and he said no. Then Jorch said Art's version of the show had a more limited scope, which is why he's taken it in the direction he has, adding "You can't just talk about the paranormal every night." Huh??

Then Conway and another guy chatted in awe about Jorch always showing up at 2pm everyday. The ol' 8 hours of prep line came out again and he said Jorch was his favorite C2C host. But in a great Freudian slip moment, Conway accidentally called him Art as the segment ended.  ;D

Wow, we have to find that on youtube or online somewhere, it is not posted yet.

George Noory to rank above Rush Limbaugh? I just herd on Alex Jones show from 2/3/11 that George Noory and Coast to Coast am is very close to being Number 1 world wide topping even Rush Limbaugh.  He has surpassed the number or synicates that Art Bell had.

George Noory & Alex Jones: Egypt Conflict Could be "Shot Heard Around The World" to Start WW3 - 1/3

Radio ratings are pretty awful.  There is no way to really know how many listen.  That said, Art, George, and Howard all have pretty crappy internet pull which could indicate they are grossly over-rated from a listener and power standpoint: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/howardstern.com http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/coasttocoastam.com http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/rushlimbaugh.com

Stern is the worst of the three.  If they were really driving huge radio ratings, wouldn't you expect bigger internet presence?

Here is Drudge and HuffPo as a comparison, which crushes these guys: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/drudgereport.com http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/huffingtonpost.com

New here but been lurking for a while.  I gave up on C2C some time ago with noodle brain.  The real kicker here in the Denver area is they took it off the station it use to be on for years and years, put it on the sports station so now it gets preempted by any game that runs late and then the post-game talk.

The power house in Colorado Springs also lost it to some low power AM station.  Both the old Denver and Springs station have Red Eye Radio on and quite honestly, they are more entertaining than noodle brain.  Even if not, at least Ross use to have the tag line of "I've made the switch, how about you" which one could understand was a direct hit at noodle brain.

Should Art come back it would make sense to have a weekend show and he could use KNYE as the flagship station to feed the network.  I doubt he will come back as he is in his late 60's and with a young family retirement is most likely where he will stay.

Still, would be nice to hear something more than what is on now all night.

Two overnight Art Bell replay streams are out there, both beat anything in overnight today: http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Talk

I prefer the Fine Art stream, but...

Maybe C2C SHOULD address the freak show pro football has become and I include college football, since it's a farm system for the so-called pros.  For me it's become nothing but a modern day version of gladiators and the coliseum mob.  A tatted-up freak show, with crazed loonies in the stand, guzzling "liquid bread."  For the Super Bore, we have "tatoo guy" vs."con man," coached by the bros.  And if non-stop pre-Super Bore coverage is not enough, we have the golden domer who can't tell a real girlfriend from an imaginary one.  All we need is for Noory to step-in and provide his in-depth assessment and how turmeric could turn everything around.  ::)

Ratings were still stellar, but down by millions from last year.

Any league that does not test for HGH or seriously test for testosterone is about anything BUT protecting it's players.  I will not watch.

I was listening to that too. Definitely a classic. I haven't listened the whole way through but you can definitely tell a difference between early JC and later JC. It's almost like it's two different people.

By the end, I think he is in on his own joke.  I do not think he was serious at any point - just my opnion.

I have a nagging feeling that if he was that hot to do something, he would have had it already lined lined up and ready to go when the non-compete was up.

True, but it is possible there was ambiguity as to when the non-compete ended.  He had the show purchase, the work for them, and the Somewhere in Time - all of which may have complicated interplay as to when the non-compete ended.  Art is also a pretty black and white guy and may have read the non-compete broadly (or maybe it was overbroad) and stopped discussions with others about a new show.

You don't like something, so you arbitrarily decide it must be 'Conservative' - this is another trait of the Left.

I am actually pretty conservative on taxation and spending, and liberal on legal control by the police state.  That makes me a CONSISTENT small government person.  You are all for big government, as long as they spend it on defense and control via the police state (eg modern conservationism has betrayed it's founders).

The desire for Big powerful Government and intrusion are what the Left is all about.  That is what 'Left-wing' is.   The role of government is to solve all problems, more government spending is always the answer, and we are all too stupid to take make our own decisions.

You don't like something, so you arbitrarily decide it must be 'Conservative' - this is another trait of the Left.

Sorry Paper Boy, read the paper.

The Right is all about more government power for defense and internal control of "terror", the left is all about internal control through social programs.  The right takes Consitutional rights via the Patriot Act and the Supreme Court, the left via social programs.  When either take power they take more control.  Wake up, they are the same, they just use different tactics.

This is getting way off topic, but you actually have the temerity to cite Nate Silver (New York Times), Justin Ewers (San Fransisco reporter US News & World Report) , and Dave Gilson (worked at Mother Jones since 2003; previously worked for the San Francisco Bay Guardian, the Center for Investigative Reporting, and the Northern California bureau of the New York Times) ??  They are all left-leaning (I read their bios - have you?).

And I'm supposed to take you seriously on this (off) topic? I gave you more credit...  :'(

Yes, because I am not citing their spin, I am citing the FACTS int heir report.  It works like this, facts do not change, spin does.  If you watch Fox or MSNBC should not matter as you should control the facts and ignore the spin, unfortunately most can't do it or handle it.  They simply watch for reinforcement of their belief, even if the facts are worng, which is really too bad.

Note the fact I cited is 100% correct, but you ignore it and attack the messenger.  That says something.

The Supreme Court has ruled time after time for increased search and seizure, that is the change.  The cops can now search for weapons AFTER the suspect has left the area.  How does that protect them, the suspect left? Get a search warrant.  The seizure discussed above is similar.

This is the most conservative and government intrusion friendly Supreme Court in history: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/29/supreme-court-may-be-most-conservative-in-modern-history/

Not sure what you're asking Hyper, or if you're saying you found no rudeness in George's behavior.  A good quick review of this thread starting on page 650 should be a good shortcut to what others heard and commented on.   ???

We found it, we were looking for the part in the tape where he used the "voice."  It happens at about 2 hours and three minutes.

Thanks for your help.

There is no way George is going anywhere if these ratings are indicative of his real rating.  He is top ten in streaming, and he is overnight not in the day.

"Talk Stream Live has released their Q4 listener data for Talk Radio. The survey period covers October 1 â€" December 31, 2012 and uses 851,212 streaming sessions as its sample size. Rush is #1, followed by Savage, Beck, Laura and Mark Levin moves up to fifth place. TSL listenership increased in the Fourth Quarter which is most likely due to the magnitude of the quarter's news topics: The Presidential Election, Hurricane Sandy, the Mayan end of the world, fiscal cliff and the tragedy of Newtown, CT. Also impacting the talk radio landscape was Michael Savage and Laura Ingraham, two top talk shows that were on hiatus while changing networks.

Hear are the TSL Top 25 Talk Shows by Rank/Share:

    1 Rush Limbaugh 12.5
    2 Michael Savage 8.8
    3 Glenn Beck 8.7
    4 Laura Ingraham 6.4
    5 Mark Levin 5.3
    6 Tammy Bruce 4.9
    7 Sean Hannity 4.8
    8 Dennis Miller 3.5
    9 George Noory 2.3

Good catch mombird3.

Looks like Romney actually did alot more than just spend personal money on his endeavor to be president, he got Bain to buy the top conservative talkers.  Interesting, and even more interestingthis did not come out in the campaign.  Would folks have found it relevant that Bain owned Rush?

Oh boy. I ask myself, "Who can get lines like this off without breaking down in gut-busting laughter?" Of course, I should have known when I saw Mother Jones quoted as authority for anything other than when the "Internationale" singalong was scheduled. Then I see law review articles quoted as authority for the proposition that the law is somehow unsettled on the question of whether the Second Amendment is an individual right. And then there's that oh-so-tiresome "lie" and "lying" flung around with little apparent reluctance. Finally there's the presumption that, completely to the contrary of the plain text and reading of the Tenth Amendment, we little citizens derive our rights from whatever is left over after our government takes what it wants, not the other way around. But the biggest tell is the straight-faced argument that there's nothing at all objectionable to the idea of Emperor Neo ruling by executive decree - because anyone with an intellectually honest bone in his body knows the ones who say Obama is on firm ground would be bleeding from the eyes as they shrieked for the gazillion person march to overthrow the evil Bushitler had he even danced around what Obama has openly said he will do by executive decree.

Oh my.

I should no better than to bring facts to a forum where paranoia reigns supreme.

Did you actually read any of the articles?  Clearly not or you would know that the rating of this court as most conservative was not Mother Jones, it was the pre-eminent group that does these ratings and was very well documented.  Te links and proof are there.

What is the sign of a true idiot?   It is one who chooses ignorance as it is easier to think.  You sir are a true idiot, a factless idiot.
