The memo quoted Steele as telling a Justice Department official he was "desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president." Reuters

Just face it! You're him. :D

The 'memo' said it....So it must be true eh?  ;D

And even if he did say it, what is the context?

Might it be similar to: "This man is a danger to the USA and a stooge of Putin, and you need to know this"

Yeah, but 99% of them haven't yet had a wash their mother didn't give them, so they can hardly be expected to know who Chris Steele and the FBI is can they? Well? Can they?

Go on then babs...explain to the class how a very selective memo drafted by Trump, issued by Nunes has revealed anything other than that Trump is desperate to make sure everyone looks at the shiny thing over there?

Thanks for making my point numbnuts. Page was farther down the pecking order than Edward and guess what?  The communications of every American citizen is confidential.

Hmmm but what if that American citizen happened to be in the telephone conversation of (For example) a Russian spy that the FBI or CIA were monitoring? You remember the report in Steele's dossier? 'Male 1'...That was later confirmed BY CARTER PAGE to the press as being him.. Steele didn't know who it was, and didn't know the FBI did when he gave them his information..

Read the transcript of Simpson's testimony if you're interested, I know you're not, because it isn't something cleared by Trump and Nunes. Go on, force yourself.

Anything Flynn did wrong, he did under Obama’s watch and it had nothing to do with collusion to undermine the election.

He was sacked by Obama in 2014.. How do you know what he did or didn't do? So far he's pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, which is incredible considering his background in military intelligence. He should know better than that.

Quote
If Flynn was a criminal, Obama should have had him arrested.

Why? Obama isn't a police officer, perhaps for all his faults, Obama respected the separation of powers. I know Trump said he'd put Clinton in jail, but you and I know he can't and interestingly Jeff Sessions (Appointed by Trump) has said there is no case to answer..

Quote
If they found out Flynn was a criminal be ause of illegal prosecution methods by withholding information from the FISA court when fiing for extensions, then his charges should be dropped as “fruit from the poisoned” tree. And I loathe Flynn. Have from the start. Said he never should have been trusted. Remember that?

Whether he should have been trusted or not, Trump wasn't troubled by it. Even when warned against him and the risk he had to blackmail. What is interesting is that every single person who has left the Trump admin since taking office hasn't had so much as a wave from Trump; Except Flynn. Whose resignation was requested and accepted but prompted the sacking of Comey because Comey wouldn't drop the case he was pursuing against Flynn. Why was that? Sentimental?

Quote
Once again, thanks for trying to obfuscate and deflect, but once again proving my point.

You haven't proved anything. I can't be held responsible for you not seeing the obvious.

The entire case is based on a fraudulant dossier created by someone with a clear animus toward him. Case dismissed.

You really are stupid.. The entire case isn't based on any one thing. And even if Steele's dossier didn't exist, Carter Page was still under investigation for being a foreign agent. The FBI have already said that the dossier only corroborated a lot (not all) of what they already had discovered.

You'd better tell Mueller the case is dismissed; Get back will ya to tell us what he told you.  ;D

Nothing to do with collusion. Let’s take 30-40 solicitors from the Labour party and grant them free access to every document and every electronic correspondence (written or spoken)concerning the crown since 2010, have them interview Edward and then see if he is 100% accurate in describing every meeting he was in last year and what day it happened on.

I'm not sure that there are 30-40 solicitors in the Labour party (there is the former head of the CPS) and the correspondence to the Crown is completely confidential. To anyone, whether the incumbent government of any of the opposition parties. Do you mean Prince Edward? I'm not sure why you chose him, he's way down the pecking order.

Is the implication that being a paid agent of a foreign government and in the Flynn case being a blackmail risk is an easily overlooked event that happens to every prospective employee of an incoming administration and they can be forgiven for forgetting?; Together with the explicit warning from the previous POTUS that employing said employee would be a bad thing.

The extensions don’t stand and without those you don’t have Flynn, Manafort or Gates. And Page didn’t do anything except once again the “lied to a federal agent” trap. You don’t have shit about collusion. Of course, you still don’t

And you wouldn’t have Page either - because he contradicted the Steele account of events.

The problem with that, is two have been indicted and one has pleaded guilty. You and I don't know what Mueller knows. End of. So you certainly have no idea whatsoever what future charges may be brought on anyone. I 'haven't got Page'? I'm not a prosecutor, and contradicting something doesn't mean shit...Or is it a variation of 'denial' and so that is enough to be left alone?

I believe it implicates Comey in a coverup. Remember that he told Trump about the dossier right before Buzzfeed published it. And then he warned Trump against investigation of the dossier “because it might look like they were investigating Trump, which they weren’t “. This memo establishes he knew that the DNC paid for it each time he went for an extension. He did not want Trump finding out the DNC had paid for it.

Then he testified to Congress that it was his duty to report to them quarterly about sensitive investigations. When asked by C. Stefanick, why he hadn’t reported on this investigation and it had been over 8 months, he said it was a sensitive investigation. Duh. He did not want to have to explain where the dossier came from or the bullshit it contained.

The 'memo' proves nothing at all. It is a WH inspired, Nunes signed off few pages of not a lot. Take the Steele dossier out (originally financed by a republican group) and the FISA warrant on Carter Page still stands. As does everything else. Even the GOP are a bit shy (with the exception of Jordan-no surprise there) about crowing about it.

It looks like the markets smell inflation and more Fed rate hikes than previously projected.  Two things must be troubling Trump.  First, his borrowing costs from the Russians are going up and second, there's nothing he can do about it.  He probably hasn't been told yet that he can't fire a Chairman of the Federal Reserve or any members of the FOMC (the body that actually establishes short term rates).  As intended, rising interest rates will cool the economy which means Trump's fantasy growth rate projections are even more of a joke.  Higher interest rates will also stifle employment growth.  Janet Yellen is no doubt happy to be riding off into the sunset after a great four year term as Chair and years as a Fed Governor and President of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

I can confirm interest rate rises.. >:(... The DOW only dropped 600 today, and although it's only the biggest weekly fall since about 2016 it isn't Trump's fault..He only claims things that make him look good. Do you think the Russian banks will really milk the interest hike for him and Jared?  :-\

Oh come now.  You had to be a bit let down by what is on the memo.  It only confirms that the FBI and Justice department is engaging in some questionable practices.  We knew that before the memo was released. I was hoping for more that is for sure.  Like evidence of the Democrats and FBI colluding to make sure Trump was not elected.  It is a huge disappointment for the buildup it got.

It doesn't even do that. The obsession by the 'memo' is a raw informational dossier that by itself had no influence in a FISA warrant being issued (by four separate judges) about a guy who last year Trump's minions dismissed as incidental, but had been investigated by the FBI as a foreign agent for many years before Trump even put himself forward as a candidate.

That was what was feared by the director of the FBI and the DAG. But it seems now that what was promised by Nunes isn't what has been released after all. A little like the Nunes midnight shuffle last year, he basically had his staffer take a Trump inspired 'memo' and took it away and filled it out. Fed it to the intelligence committee (REPS only) and they hyped it up to be a yuge thing. It maybe insofar as the FBI now know that the intelligence committee can't be trusted because they selectively use their information. As long as you accept (and I can't see how you can't) that this memo is only intended to try and protect Trump and for no other reason, because as far as the GOP is concerned, Trump is the supreme leader and there is no separation of powers.
