Ya, Karen hasn't addressed that as far as I have heard. No indication of what a proper amount of time would have been. I guess they should have just waited indefinitely. She said the sheriff's response was that it is public record and they can't withhold it.

...but my husband keeps talking to me and interrupting so I am probably missing some of the conversation.

Most of what you're missing is that Karen claims Airyn said that the police had her phone number because of "papers she signed" and reports and whatnot. And that they were told not to release the death info but did anyway despite agreeing not to (and told the media that they never spoke to Airyn). Karen is pissed at the sheriff's office and won't be voting for the current sheriff in the next election.

Also the sheriff snubbed everyone at the chili cookoff.

That's pretty much the focus right now.

Current caller says that thousands of people could have heard what was going on because they monitor the radio. Karen claims that she knows the radio wasn't used and that the detective who showed up only used his cell phone.

My question is: how would she know that for sure? How would she know he didn't at some point use it? I thought first responders kinda did what they had to do (like, they didn't usually ask the people at the residence if it would be ok to use the radio or not?). But this isn't an area of expertise for me so maybe I'm way off base.

Also, why wouldn't they use the radio? Is that normal?

I haven't actually listened to Coast to Coast AM in a long time, so I missed the segment where George announces Art's death. I was listening to the Art Bell tribute episode of Sasquatch Chronicles (a good listen if you're into that sort of thing) and Wes started the show airing that segment. I have to say, George sounds genuinely upset.

One thing I was curious about, though. In the short bit of C2C audio that was played, George briefly talks to Tommy. Tommy mentions that a press release was sent "to all the media" announcing that Art Bell had died (according to George Knapp). I'm kinda curious where that press release originated from considering the outrage that was thrown at Noory by HW and her followers for announcing it on the show. Would the Nye County Sheriff's Office have sent it? Someone else? And if so, again, why get so angry about George (or anyone else, for that matter) discussing it or doing a tribute or anything. I'd say once it is sent to the media as a press release, it's officially out there and fair game.

Wondering the same thing. I listened to the recent GabCasts but don't recall anyone giving any direct evidence as to why she wouldn't go (or that she definitely didn't - only that Whitley didn't mention her when discussing it but maybe she wasn't significant enough to mention lol). Days before she was talking about getting music together for it like she was part of the planning process. Now there's rumors she didn't attend at all (and I assume they didn't use her funeral planning services?). Maybe I'm missing something though. Wouldn't be the first time.

Although, as someone else said, I can't see that initial broadcast going well (and possibly subsequent broadcasts). She's gonna have to field some nasty phone calls and the whole tone will be awkward after her temper tantrums. At this point, this seems like the best option. The brand is "tainted" after all this bullshit. And who in their right mind would want to take over after the damage Heather has done and continues to do, at least until Monday. KR probably should have just cut her off and done damage control by looking for a guest host while he finds a permanent replacement.

How minimally MITD was mentioned in Art Bell tributes made by other people/shows is a testament to how insignificant it is as a competitor.

That being said, if it is offered to MV or Bateman, you guys should totally take it.  It would definitely work for one of you (and would probably push HW off the deep end).

Really makes you wonder if it was a passive aggressive way of saying he's pissed at the forum or if he was just that technologically challenged when it came to forums and private message responses.

So it looks like the rabid fans are rejoicing with news of HW's return in a week and reruns the next 5 days (with no guest host show tonight).
