actually, i'm still in morocco, but with my ass fountain and whatnot, i've been sort of limited to the house here.
i think i'll be able to venture out and breathe the fresh fiat exhaust tomorrow. anyone who thinks the usa is a disproportionately polluting country has never traveled. we're among the most environmentally conscious people in the world. the thought enters my mind every time i come here.

Ok, so I've grabbed winamp pro and xiialive pro. No stream for dark matter(s) is showing for either at this time, 0734hrs. Is this a function of the stream being live when the show is on and only then or I messing something up again?
Quote from: Morgus on September 15, 2013, 08:38:22 PM
dark matter (no 's' at the end)

WillieDee I use an iphone app called Internet radio Box, it lets me search shoutcast, how can I find your stream on there?
Quote from: Morgus on September 15, 2013, 08:28:44 PM
actually Art didn't post "tonight" on facebook, here is his exact post:
"Sirius/XM Entertainment section, then Indy Channel. Be there at 7PT 10ET for "The rest of the story"
some folks just assumed tonight, but i figured he meant for Monday Sep 16, his premiere broadcast.

I'm hearing a baseball player that's a recovering addict. That correct?

I just checked this on my Kindle and got nothing. I'm assuming it's no longer streaming 104, or else I just can't get it on my Kindle. I'll check on my PC in a bit, too.

On the talk channels yeah.....do you really expect the hosts to talk for three hours straight?!?
besides it helps with revenue directly for the show.
Quote from: Morgus on September 15, 2013, 07:51:29 PM
I let the Sirius PC app player (running in Firefox browser with flash) play channel 104 for over 3 hours this afternoon and didn't find it timing out or popping up an alert in all that time. Perhaps they removed the timeout in the newer version of the PC app or it only applies to apps on other devices like Ipads or android?

The stream is working fine for me using Winamp on my desktop PC, thanks!

I saw that after I posted haha. Yes, I'm listening right now Via Winamp and your stream sounds great! I'm assuming you'll be running this tomorrow night?
My stream would be using one of those free shoutcast servers which can be unreliable at times. I think you said in an earlier post that you are running your own server. You're more professional than I am. I have no idea how to run my own server, let alone have any real bandwidth to do so.
Quote from: awguy on September 15, 2013, 07:21:58 PM
I've played around with shoutcast a bit in the past. I am seriously considering setting up a stream for the show this Monday night ONLY, because it's such a big night.
But it sounds like others may already be doing this. I'll be waiting for those links to be posted but if nothing transpires, I'll try firing up my shoutcast stream and post the link right here about a half hour before show time.

I clicked on the LISTEN link at the top, winamp popped up and I'm hearing commercials for SiriusXM.

I'm new to forum, so hello!
I'm in the process of going through my Art Bell collection, which is spread across many discs, and comparing them to the big torrent recently uploaded as well as widespread's new archive, and I think have spotted a couple that don't seem to be otherwise available. eg.:
06-12-97 5 Art Bell Doug Ruby Interview - Doug Ruby - Crop Circles
I've listened to this one and it is decent quality and complete. Others I have found, but not yet verified are:
1997-11-04 - Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell - Edgar Mitchell
2001-02-06 - Michu Kaku
2001-08-29-Crop Circles
2000-02-15 Larry Dossey
1996-04-16 Open Lines
2002-02-15 Ingo Swann
Would love to share these if I can, since I have been enjoying everyone else's contributions. So if someone can please PM me some upload credentials I will do so.
many thanks

T-Mobile unlimited text, talk, data $79.00/month.
Hard to beat. I just signed up for 30 day FREE xm/sirius trial. We shall see.

I can only put it on my copy site unless Willedee gives me some permissions to upload to a folder on the site.

Thanks again. This will definitely save my on the fly mobile data consumption.

Im exited about Arts new show, however, I have just realized that I CANT LISTEN TO IT!
I'm in the UK - How the heck can I listen? Will there be a podcast?
Where can I sign up to Sirius?
I don't want to rely on torrents as they wont exist for months or years.
Help!

It's Stan Deyo.
I don't mind funky audio. As long as you can hear a lost classic then that's fine.
Once again thank you so much for this service.
This is like Christmas every day.
Thank Mrs Widespread for allowing you to do this.

So I put the list together of the tapes I have been able to find so far (I know some of the missing tapes in the official recordings I have must be in my house somewhere), and mikealden was kind enough to cross-reference them with a list of currently circulating shows. Here is my list of previously unavailable shows that I will work to transfer
Official Art Bell Coast to Coast AM Network Tapes:
050595 (Scallion) Tapes 1, 3, 4 - Still trying to locate tape 2
031997 (Hoagland) Tapes 1, 2, 4, 5 - Still trying to locate tape 3
072498 (North) All 4 Tapes
122198 (Dames) All 4 Tapes
093099 (Paglini) Tapes 1, 2, 4 - Still trying to locate tape
051601 (Smith/Targ) Tapes 1 & 2 - Still trying to locate tape 3
Art Bell Coast to Coast AM - Personally recorded live from WLS-AM 890 unless otherwise noted
033100 (Hoagland) Joined in progress 60 minutes, includes Art's retirement announcement
041800 (Jim Berkland) Hour 1
042000 (Reed/Raith) Hour 1(This should be a significant sound quality upgrade over what is out there now)
042600 (Art Bell's "Final Broadcast) Hours 1-4 WLS, Hour 5 WTAM fair quality (some static in this hour but still istenable)
042700 (Mike Siegel 1st show) Hour 1
020601 (Open Lines) Hour 1
DATE UNKNOWN (Open Lines) 45 minute Art Opens a line for people who have tried to lick their elbow (seriously)
I also have 2 hours of an interview with John Lear that I never marked and have no idea when it is from. I will upload it, feel free to try to figure out when it is from.
It will be a bit of slog for me to transfer these, but I'll work on it. These are old, relatively cheap cassettes in some cases so I have to be very careful with them. Apparently there is a lot of interest in the 4.26.00 show so I am going to work on that first. I am going to save the 050595, 031997, 093099, and 051601 for last, as I really want to find the missing tapes to complete those shows before uploading them.
I am going to create a YouTube page for these shows and will upload them there. I enjoy hearing the commercials (and I don't want to spend too much time editing), so I am keeping them in. For anyone who cares, the official tapes were purchased off ebay in two separate ebay lots years ago (there are a couple Punnett Coast shows from 01 and one Hilly Rose show as well), and the WLS ones I recorded myself on little tape deck in my room as a kid. I'm glad I kept those, had no idea some of them were *rare*.
