Messages - Mind Flayer Monk

#3481
Good work George, ask the Beanie Baby researcher about ISIS.

I'm enjoying the guests abilities to blow off GN and seem interested.
"Yeah, they sure do".

I used to use those lines on smoke breaks when I wanted to be left alone. There is always some nonsmoker that assumes you go out to smoke because you really want to talk about work.
#3482
I'm hoping for Annie in Alabama to call in.
#3483
pizza roll story.

I just went to the Beanie Baby Store website. That is a good product, very cute, reasonable prices (something like $6 each).

Noory is ballsy tonight. He's playing Wanna Take a Ride, followed by pushing the Coast Insider subscription. Then, he said they'll be talking about "the darkside of mass delusion" after the break. Hhhmmmm.
He must have fired himself up with Pat Boone's In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy

He also asked if that dog was Hoagland's girlfriend barking at him. What a jackass.  ::)

Upset by Hoaxy's dog barking in the background. Joorch asked 'Is that Robin barking?' Which technically makes Mrs H a bitch, and Joorch a spiteful cat.

What an asshole.
#3487
GN: Just described a dog barking in the background as "an amazing story".
He doesn't pay attention to anything at all.

Alright, I think this is going to be a good show. I do predict GN will latch onto some other of the guest's topics and show us why Jorch is regarded as such an idiot.

This author's books sound interesting to me. The Beanie Babies one has some interesting notes as well:
"Beanie Babies were ten percent of eBay's sales in its early days, with an average selling price of $30--six times the retail price."

Here is another book the author wrote:
Good Advice from Bad People: Selected Wisdom from Murderers, Stock Swindlers, and Lance Armstrong
Bestselling author Zac Bissonnette has gathered more than seventy-five jaw-dropping gems, including risk-management advice from the man who triggered the world’s largest hedge fund collapse and tips from gay-prostitute-patronizing pastor Ted Haggard on how to build a marriage that lasts a lifetime.

I'm wondering if Zac is here to trick Jorcho into revealing how to take 10 millions listeners down to 2 million listeners.

Predicting great things for tonight.

Tonight.....

In the first half, Zac Bissonnette, a personal finance writer, talks about crowd manipulation, mass delusions, and crazes. Followed by Open Lines.

Tune in next week, when Baz Cassonette, a crowd manipulator, will talk about personal finances.

:)
Tonight's guest wrote a book about Beanie Babies
The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute

I have always been interested in collectibles and the price swings they take on ebay so I am looking forward to this show.

That Sentionauts video was very interesting (disappeared temporarily).

I'm going to toss in ELO's Prologue and Twilight from the album Time (1982). Close out the show every night with Hold On Tight.

It's also got a long ramp-up (like Ride My Seesaw) but it fits some of Art's shows.

Anyway, love that piano in Twilight.

Those kids were hardly out of diapers when I was listening to it all live.  Damn kids, and now they won't stay off my damn lawn...
Just kidding Pate. How about some Italian disco since you brought up Tosca.

Frankly, I believe it is incumbent upon us to work with Israel to ensure that that does not happen. Whether it means striking Iran, or tough negotiating, whatever it takes. It must be done. As BiBi said, NEVER AGAIN!

I disagree. Israel and ourselves have computer hacked Iran (flame virus) to the point we know everything about them. We even had their centrifuges spinning too fast (Stuxnet) and ruining their systems. We know exactly what they are doing and I think if they were doing something dangerous, they would be Libya part 2 right now.

Trying to rehash stuff is a mistake.

I think they rehashed stuff is still good, just do it less. For example, once per week.

Just keep it to very little politics. That is around everywhere, all the time.

And the mascot, Charlie O

[attachimg=1]

I was reading Jim Hunter's autobiography today and came across this from Jim Hunter. The later events (the bad season) are from 1974.
-----
...early 1969 I borrowed $120,000 from Mr. Finley to buy that particular plot of land promising to repay the debt at a rate of $20,000 per year plus 6% interest for as long as it took. The acreage in question was just a few hundred yards east of where I live today but miles ahead in soil content and productivity, it's rich black dirt fed by the Perquiman's River.

A great buy. Or so I figured. But come June, Finley started hounding me and my dad for his money back. All $120,000. Right now. "But I'm supposed to pay you in installments," I said. To which he responded, "I know, I know, but I'm buying a hockey team and a basketball team, and I need the money."

I told Finley the truth. I didn't have the money. Not at what he was paying me a year ($75,000), and I wasn't about to go robbing Peter to pay Paul. Not after all my daddy taught me. But Mr. Finley was in one of his Charlie O. (the mule) moods. He wanted his money back. End of conversation. For a while, at least.

Then the call started. Day and night. Night and day. Only on the days I pitched. Of course, Finley denied knowing I was pitching. This is from the man who knew how much popcorn they sold every night, what lights were out in the restrooms.

"Cat," he'd say over and over again, the same raspy voice, "do you know who this is?"
"Yes, sir, Mr. Finley."
"I...need...my...money."

It never varied. Or ended. "I...need...my...money."  I'll admit it; it got to me. Try having your boss call up just before a sales presentation. See how you do. That's why, as I mentioned before, I started eight games in August and lost everyone, ending the season 12-15. It got so bad that when I went to the ballpark I wouldn't take any calls. "I...want...my...money."

Checking into it, man there were a LOT of shows before they bought it. I see Dave has not logged in since Feb 11 but you can be sure he is here under another name as is Lisa and I bet Tom as well. They read every word, right guys?

Art

I imagine logging in and reading Bellgab is the best part of the job for some people over there. Noory does his cock of the walk routine at work and everyone gets a little secret smile.

Can we be sure Jesus even existed as the man we're told in the bible?
I've seen some people claim we do (mostly from Roman texts), but then others claim Jesus is just a fantasy man in the tradition of other religious figures that came before him.

Well, he would have to survive 40 days in the desert.
