I used to live in the country. Now there are new houses and developments springing up all over the place.
The older I get the more I dislike neighbors.

Quote from: VegasI15 on March 19, 2015, 09:48:39 PMI think the statute of limitations may have passed for these women to bring charges, so there can never be a guilty.
No annoyance, I am glad you explained why you thought that way. Instead of just calling me "illogical." Your opinion is respected but I tend to differ.
To me it just seems like a circus now. Although these women are not on trial, their stories are. And each new person that comes forward, you would tend to think that at least 1 story could be verified. But alas, each new story that is unverified, makes the whole thing in my mind less credible. Just what I believe. If you find it disgusting I apologize. We will have to agree to disagree until the verifiable truth comes out. Which it never may.

Many people, including some in this parish, think the west should just allow them to kill each other, and spend so much time and effort doing it, they are unable to attack anyone else.
QuoteAfghan Militia Leaders, Empowered by U.S. to Fight Taliban, Inspire Fear in Villages
" Rahimullah used to be a farmer â€" just a “normal person living an ordinary life,†as he put it. Then he formed his own militia last year and found himself swept up in America’s exit strategy from Afghanistan."
Scattered across Afghanistan, men like Rahimullah continue to hold ground and rule villages. They are a significant part of the legacy of the American war here, brought to power amid a Special Operations counterinsurgency strategy that mobilized anti-Taliban militias in areas beyond the grasp of the Afghan Army.

DM was the best at obscure pop culture referencing, but some would sail far over callers(and occasional guests) heads and I'd feel bad for him.

Quote[size=12]Picher, Okla.
The Environmental Protection Agency calls it the most toxic place in America, but six determined residents still call Picher home. The city was once the most productive lead and zinc mining area in the world, but today it’s full of abandoned buildings and enormous piles of mine waste. In 1967, contaminated water from the mines turned the local creek red, the giant chat piles were found to be laced with lead, and Picher’s cancer levels skyrocketed. The area was declared the Tar Creek Superfund site in 1981, but most residents didn’t leave until 2006 when it was discovered that the town was in imminent danger of collapsing into the mines. Picher was declared too toxic to clean up, and a federal buyout program began paying residents to leave. In 2008, the city was further destroyed by a tornado.
Picher’s post office, city hall and high school closed in 2009, and the city ceased operations as a municipality on Sept. 1, 2009. In January 2011, Picher’s remaining commercial structures were demolished, with the exception of the Old Miner’s Pharmacy. Its owner, Gary Linderman, refuses to leave his home, and his business survives only because he serves customers in surrounding areas, many who have respiratory problems possibly linked to the toxic environment.

The story of Badfinger is certainly a sad one after they left the Apple label. A tale of seedy managers, and unfortunately suicide... but they sure had some good tunes. I never thought this song was done by anyone else, but it is a good one.

The French Connection II is also pretty good. If you like that type of movie also "The Seven Ups" (1973) with Roy Schneider is good (great car chase! And if you like Roy and Freidkin "Sorcerer" (1977) is an awesome movie. Although a remake of "Wages of Fear" it stands alone on its on. Gritty, tense, and exciting.
