There are a couple different types of difficulty I get from the search field.  Here is one example:
I searched "Rogue spiders" and the post came up.  But, when i clicked on it, i was routed to the home page (Problem 1).  I see the avatar but I would like the user name too.

This is because the forum was recently using a modification called "Pretty URLs."  What it did was change the URLs of every page to something like:

http://bellgab.com/talk_radio/art_bell

Recently, that mod had to be removed and all of the URLs changed back to their original form because it was making it almost impossible to merge similar threads and perform other maintenance stuff.  However, Google has not yet finished indexing all of the forum's URLs since reverting back.  That means if you click one of the search results and it points to one of the "pretty" URLs, the forum software will dump you onto the main page because the URL doesn't exist and the forum software prefers to send you to the main page rather than give you a 404 error.

The problem will fix its self as Google re-indexes the forum with the URLs as they currently are.

Thanks for a response MV, my views were just from being a Gabcast fan with opinions derived from listening to the shows alone.

1) As I quoted, there was an episode where you said something to the effect of-not having to worry about running the board-while Eddie was still a host, but this was some time before the "first come first host" versions of the Gabcast.
2)  Thanks for the insight, interesting to see exactly why the "first come first host" came about for those Gabcast episodes.
3) Yes, I agree with that, I think the only people "peeved" were the Gabcast host clique themselves.

Just for the record, nobody will be asked to pay to post on this forum.  I understand the arguments in favor of it, but I think it would kill participation and leave paying users with a giant pile of stagnation that isn't interesting to read.  Their first payment would probably be their last.

However, certain features will eventually require payment.  Yes, it will be called Turbo Mode.  That change is coming when the 2.1 version of this forum software is released, which could be in one week or two years.  I am hoping this will generate enough revenue to discontinue the forum's use of Adsense, which is a cancer on the free and open expression of thought online.

I think people got peeved when MV took the Gabcast control board back when he started hosting the Gabcast fulltime.

but i never did that.  i simply said that going forward, the show would instead be hosted by anyone on the forum who volunteered to host, first come first serve.  eddie or i would run the mixer and put each show on the air.  eddie didn't want to do it, as evidenced by the number of shows he did after the change (i think zero?)

the "regular" gabcast hosts invited ponyboysunset to be a regular host, for whatever reason regretted their decision a short time later, came to me to clean up their mess, and the volunteer hosting situation was my solution.

to my knowledge, the only people "peeved" by the whole thing were the gabcast clique, which is largely why you no longer see them posting on this forum.

...mostly because of his pointless tweets and commentary...

if you think trump's legislative agenda (the bulk of which the gop has masqueraded as supporting for generations) is on hold because of twitter, you should just stop paying attention to politics because you've got shit instincts and even less impressive critical thinking skills.  further, if you don't understand why trump tweets and can't see how he's repeatedly been able to steer multi-day news cycles to his benefit by doing so, then i can't help you.

i get it.  you like your politicians to be politicians.  polished, polite, deferential, proper, conventional, losing with honor... that's the PB (and mccain/romney) way.  i'll bet you've been so proud over the last 30 years as your ideal gop hack politician has grown the debt, brought in tens of millions more illegals, sold manufacturing to hostile nations, and blown lives and treasure on stupid foreign military adventures that certainly don't honor the lives of our fallen soldiers.

just as you did on the morning of nov 9, you'll have further pounds of egg on your face in a couple of years.  your analysis, i say again, has eaten fat wrestler ass for two years now.  i don't even know why you would bother sparring with someone who has so little respect for you or your opinions, and i don't know why i'm bothering to hear lectures about advancing conservative ideas from some dummy in san francisco who was disappointed to see HRC lose.

So, Conservatives want taxes lowered at the same time as they want trade deals abrogated

i said renegotiated or abandoned if they don't benefit the american worker.  i don't think the average conservative is against trade deals.  just those designed to fleece the middle class while benefiting a global corporate elite who hold no allegiance to any country.

which would result in higher prices.

so when our leaders sell out their own people in order to shore up the wealth of a global corporate elite who sleep with said leaders, just sit back and take it mr. and ms. america, because "higher prices."  i wonder how forcefully you express concern over "higher prices" when the ACA is discussed.

Well, given that conservatives wouldn't know reality if it bit them on the ass...

i mean... ok?  i don't really have time for this.

Your mind is like a steel sieve. I remember your posts quoting white supremacists sites concerning the genetic superiority of white people even if you don't

show us the posts and attack him for the specific messages they contain rather than attack him based on your own characterization of some website and his willingness to "quote" something from it.  i'll bet the simon wiesenthal center has quoted nazis in the course of arguing a point.  it's how a quote is being used that matters, not the fact that it was used or its source.
