it's great, dan.  one problem...

it's the pictures.  i'm afraid putting actual pictures of the actual people in the banners is going to get me into some image misappropriation problems.

i'm not sure what you could replace the carr/dannheiser/galanti pictures with.  however, for the snoory pic, camazotz automat has been using pictures of people who merely resemble snoors.  for instance, the bigfoot banner features an image of now deceased drug lord Jamiel Chagra.

like i said, i'm not sure what to suggest for the other 3 guys tho since they don't really look like anybody.

i do love the banner tho, i'm just afraid to use it as it is.

addendum:  i must clarify what could be perceived as an inconsistency on my part regarding this policy.  upon review, we have two banners employing actual images of snoor's face... the starving children banner and the horse's ass ghost banner.  the reason i let the starving children banner slide was because he has what appears to be a dead baby obscuring half of his face.  HAHA!!  i let the horse's ass ghost slide because, frankly, the image distortion/position/context etc. causes it not to look 100% like snoors.  i just wanted to be sure you weren't thinking i was operating with complete inconsistency on this.  i wish we didn't have to worry about this legal bilge.

addendum 2:  disregard what i've said here.  after reading evb's post on fair use/parody/criticism, i have re-grown a pair.  from time to time, i start to puss out and i need someone to come along and remind me to "man up."  thx, evb.  we are moving full steam ahead.

dan... could you make a couple small aesthetic changes to the banner for me?  instead of a comma after the first few names, how about if you just extend the names across the banner for each of the respective pictures without commas?  in other words, less sentence-like.  it will flow much better, imo.  otherwise, it's an outside-the-park home run.

you know something... it just struck me that this site has a surprisingly high amount of female participation.  i say "surprisingly" because when i started it, i just assumed my overall approach toward things would likely result in a complete sausage-fest.  glad i was wrong.

and yes, i love that singles banner too.  the 2 pictures in it are my wife and me.  it was made by camazotz automat, i think as a bit of a goof.  i'm not sure if he was really thinking i would use it.  but if he thought i wouldn't, he thought WROOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!  MUAHAhahahaha. (cue fake lightning and dry ice)

One advantage to a little extra padding is that the face doesn't cave is as soon as it could.
HAHA!!!!!! i don't know why but this comment struck me as possibly one of the funniest things i have been exposed to in about a week.

and yes, you do look a lot younger than i had pictured... what with your face not being "caved in" and the like.

the first movie i recall seeing phoenix in was signs with mel gibson.  i enjoyed that movie, and i enjoyed his performance.  however, each succeeding shamalan movie has been worse than the one before.  thus, i would advise that phoenix stay away from shamalamadingdong if he wants to preserve his career over the long haul.  shamalamaramalamadingdong is today just a horrid director who is making turd in my drink after turd in my drink.

i'm sure phoenix will stumble upon this advice, as we are one of the more credible and relevant websites in 2008.

I don't think Snoory was born with a *cleft palate* or a *forked tongue*. I think he's an unintelligent asshole who made that up to take some of the heat off of all his mispronunciations and verbal gaffes. Noory is a KNOWN liar and has been caught in lies more than once. I would bet dollars to donuts that he made that whole story up out of whole cloth.
if he does have a hairlip, maybe that explains the otherwise senseless stache.

now that the bigfoot "discovery" has been predictably revealed as a fraud, the police chief has apparently decided to fire the cop.

hopefully this is only the beginning of their troubles.  i hope this biscardi arse gets his, too.

Check out which band is used as the vinyl model.
i am 28 years old.  math prohibited me from growing up with the music of zeppelin's era.  i truly discovered zeppelin when i was about 17.  the first album i bought was led zeppelin III.  i was speechless.  i had never heard zeppelin in album form.  then i bought led zeppelin II.  EVERY song on that album is, to me, an absolute milestone in rock history.  people always cite sgt. pepper's or the wall as the greatest albums of all time.  nonsense.  led zeppelin II is, imo, the single greatest event in the history of recorded music.  i'm sure many will disagree, but on this issue, i am deaf to disagreement.

addendum:  i saw jimmy page and robert plant in st. louis in 1998.  it was fine, and i couldn't believe i was actually looking at them.  however, the sound was horrid.  page's guitar work was buried in a sea of audio mud, as was plant's now inert voice.  i don't know if it was the sound man or the acoustics of the keil center, but a great opportunity was essentially ruined by the environment in which it occurred.  contrast that with the john paul jones (zeppelin bassist/keyboardest) show i saw in chicago, 2000.  there were about 1000 people in an intimate environment.  i was about 10 feet from him throughout.  it was THE most amazing musical performance i have ever been witness to.  the irony.  jones, the silent, shadowy figure from zeppelin who could anonymously walk around in public during zep's heyday is in 2008 the only member of zeppelin who is as proficient at his craft as he was all those years ago.  i always studied the intricacies of zeppelin's music closely and concluded zeppelin wouldn't have been a fraction of what they were without jones.  the chicago 2000 show solidified that conclusion.  to think page and plant are known not to return his calls!

Ah-hem hem!

Mr. Vandeven,

I truly hate to have to point this out to you, unpleasant topic that it is.  However, it has come to my attention that your, um, people, shall we say, are developing a serious case of potty-mouth.

Your swift attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

elb

you each get a gold star.

evb will stay here during recess to consider the ramifications of her actions.  i hope all of you will forgive her attempt at throwing you under the, uh, school bus, so to speak.

don't let your heads grow too large, however.  she still has more gold stars than she knows what to do with.

i think the whole overpopulation thing is a real steamy load anyway.  the same people have been saying the same things about it for 40 years now.  i drive all over the united states, and the vast majority of what i see is unworked, UNpopulated, desolate land.  many of you have probably heard this before, but a few years ago i saw a statistic that said every human on the planet could be fit within the state of texas in families of four, each receiving 2 acres of land.  doesn't look very POPULATED to me... never mind OVERpopulated.

the first sign of "overpopulation" would probably be the inability to access food rather than the inability to access uninhabited land.  however, we don't even seem to be terribly concerned even about that since we've bought into this dopey ethanol scam which takes corn resources out of the food supply and puts them into our gas tanks, all the while driving up the price of ALL corn derivative products, causing rioting and even starvation in some countries.

you know... i now think i recall hearing him say something about 2011.  he must have made that prediction a long time ago (maybe back in the 90s), because he would be hard pressed to continue to justify sales of his remote viewing bilge if EVEN HE can't use his "skills."  funny how those years creep on by so quickly.  wonder if he'll scoot that goal post back a few more years when the time comes.  he's engaged in the "scoot" so many times before.  why stop?

infiltration sounds great... not just specifically in this instance, but in multiple facets of snoor's professional existence.  when this place gets big enough, we will be creating an infiltration area viewable ONLY by certain members.  it will be a location from which salvos are launched and infiltration/sabotage can be plotted.

speaking of winamp bloat...
if you don't like the winamp bloat but you DO want to use winamp, you could always click here:
http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=winamp
scroll down and click v2.95 and enjoy.  that's the version i've run for years.  DO NOT touch v3.x in ANY variety.  it is a disaster.  and if you go beyond that, there's no point since you're encroaching upon bloat territory again, in which case you might as well just go get the most recent version.

actually, i don't have a beef with the host.  the only thing i have to say about him is to point out that i didn't enjoy his show.  for all i know, he might have been totally unaware of what was happening behind the scenes.

hi frys girl.  welcome to GNS.

i don't listen to snoors regularly so i'm not really up on wtf he's doing regarding aspartame.  you mean he is starting some sort of campaign to get it rendered illegal?   hahaha  go get em, snoors.  this should be interesting.

i wasn't sure of any of the specifics since i'm not up on snoory lore to the degree i should be.  biscardi does mention snoors in this press conference.  he seems very calculated, and he jumps in repeatedly to "handle" questions for these two yokels as an attorney would.

Okay MV -- THAT is not enough for them to have offended you so much.  You're not that petty. By now you now I am a nosey bitch with a passion for collecting irrelevant info that I'll likely never use - but for FUCK SAKE - you BROUGHT IT UP - so FESS UP!  What on earth did Cap'in Jack do to you?

It's GOTTA be juicy for you to hold on to it.

PS:  Before you image i' such a total social clod I don't know i'm OUT OF LINE with tis post  -- I do - oh most sincerely do - but OUT OF LINE is one of he glories of GNS.

SO DISH Darlin' -- PLEASE?

a few months ago, i was contacted by some arse who said he was the producer of that show.  why did he contact me?

i noticed someone was running a stream on shoutcast which was actually just a relay of my stream.  they were running it directly off of my stream and simply renaming the title of the stream to suggest they were responsible for providing the content.  that pissed me off.  soooo.... i logged into my shoutcast server and set it to disallow relayed streams.

a couple days later, afore mentioned arse sent me an email coincidentally asking if it would be ok to relay my stream.  i said, "yeah, sure, no problem."  i readjusted the setting on my server, and that was that.  see what asking can get you?

he asked me if i would put a link to their shitty, disorganized, amateurish site on ufoship, and i said i would if they would reciprocate.  i gave them the standard prominent link on ufoship (which, btw, was getting FAR MORE traffic than their shit-hole website).  they gave me a postage stamp hidden within a MOSAIC of seemingly irrelevant links.  thanks.

this guy also fed me the typical horse shit line, "we're going to be picked up by XM satellite radio in about 3 or 4 months."  "yeah, sure." i thought.  haha i listen to xm daily and i have yet to hear a peep about it.  no surprise.  knew i never would.

then i finally got around to listening to this show.  the complaint i lodged above can suffice in describing my reaction.  it's just NOT a good show.  it's the typical boring paranormal radio show with a host who takes himself too seriously as evidenced by his tard-ish intro.

sooo... based on the horrid nature of this show and the obvious idiocy of this so-called producer, i decided to remove the link from my site altogether and reinstate the ban on stream relays.  a few weeks later, i noticed they were streaming art bell shows ripped from my stream.  they couldn't relay anymore, so they did the next best thing.  real lamers.  go get your own art bell show collection.

that's essentially it.  it's a bad show surrounded by lightweights.  i'm totally unimpressed by it which is why i chose to disassociate myself from it.

by the way, here is a link to the bigfoot press conference held friday, august 15.
http://www.king5.com/video/index.html?nvid=273241

some douche nozzle named tom biscardi is apparently involved in this thing.  he seems like he'd be a real pleasure to kick in the face.

the more i hear about this case, the more suspicious i become.  biscardi seems like a publicity seeking whore who hopes to fool the public into believing his "work" of 37 years has purpose.

i hope the perpetrators of this hoax (if it turns out to be a hoax as i believe) end up regretting their decision.
