Something like that seems more than plausible.

Quote from: b_dubb on February 26, 2011, 11:46:47 AMThis sounds like bullshit. Where did u hear it?
hey did you guys hear that Art Bell quit Coast to Coast?!!!
Quote from: robey1129 on February 26, 2011, 09:29:33 PMhuh? I never said a word.
Thank you misssirveau for the story, perceptive and well written, and MV, for the "hint" to change my avatar....again.
Quote from: Marc Knight on February 25, 2011, 02:41:50 PMthis seems like a solid idea... and one i will likely end up implementing.
Because of the primary subject matter (a retired host and an ever unpopular version of C2C) perhaps you should consider a broader scope for the forum such as talk radio in genral.
Quote from: JustOneFix on February 25, 2011, 03:56:33 PMwhat's even worse is that the screen capture above is not from deadliest catch. it's from a copy-cat show called "swords"... as in sword fish. bleh.
Deadliest Catch has been doing that since day one. It's for a change.
Quote from: JustOneFix on February 25, 2011, 01:25:49 PMthe problem with the whole facebook thing is that i don't have the time to manage and/or maintain it.
Facebook group? Myspace page(quit laughing dammit)? I stumbled upon the forum while looking for Art Bell clips, lurked about for a bit and said "Damn this is a kick ass forum! I'm gonna sign up" The fact that this is an easy going group of people and no drama certainly adds to the capability for the forum to grow.
Quote from: JustOneFix on February 25, 2011, 01:28:10 PMyou'll get paid in small vials filled with the tears of disappointed children.
Will we get paid in beer? If so let me know and I'll PM you my preferred brands......![]()
Quote from: aldousburbank on February 25, 2011, 09:56:28 AMyeah, it's steadily growing (with occasional peaks and valleys), but it hasn't exactly grown at the rate i'd hoped. i thought by now (after almost three years) that this forum would be far busier than it is. you guys need to do some guerrilla advertising around the net for us when the opportunity presents its self.
Michael V.
Is it not true, that CoastGab is a steadily growing, lil' chubby baby?
Quote from: anagrammy on February 25, 2011, 09:57:34 AMthe problem is, no matter what we do, there are not enough of us on this forum to make a difference. we just don't have the numbers. with the numbers our community gets, it would be difficult even to make it APPEAR as if we have any kind of power. the solution? we need more people participating on this forum. we need more new blood and more regular participation from the veterans. i encourage all of you to find people who might be interested in using this forum and encourage them to post regularly. that's the first step.
We've been toying with the idea of taking some kind of group action--if Morphia echoes your sentiments as well. Her post is succinct and maybe she could just take out the part about Art's post on Fab Forum being clearly about Coast (don't want to discourage Art from communicating further using that means).
Otherwise, dropping streamlink is the only action we can take, and that makes us a Coast Outsider (smirk).

Quote from: anagrammy on February 25, 2011, 09:57:34 AMhaha
In fact, I think I will print Morphia's post and mail it to Premier.
Quote from: SomeVelvetMorning on February 25, 2011, 12:37:15 PMjeeze. that's just absolute douche city.
Noory said that Travis Walton disappeared for 5 days in 1975. He went on to tell how Jimmy Hoffa also disappeared in 1975 with Georgie being the last person to interview him. He said that Travis returned while Jimmy never returned.
Quote from: aldousburbank on February 25, 2011, 08:40:31 AMhaha, it never ends.

this should give you a pretty good idea
Quote from: onan on February 24, 2011, 04:10:46 PMit might surprise you, but i agree with you totally on the value of socialized medicine. i think it has a place along with our capitalistic system. i just don't want people to be forced to participate in that system if they would rather go the private route and pay for care themselves... without government interference.
It isnt popular to post the supposition that medicine may be better served with a socialist point of view on a mostly libertarian forum but so be it. Like it or not it is true. Mental illness does not lend well to those that can hold down jobs, forget the high paying ones.

does anyone know if Art is short for Artemus?
Quote from: onan on February 24, 2011, 07:22:38 PMif ever a forum was started for the purpose of making a loser feel powerful, nut-hawk zone apparently is it.
I have tried to register with that site a few times and have always been told something to the effect of "not accepting registrations". Whats up with that?
Quote from: haloedorchid on February 24, 2011, 08:55:12 PMwhat were the highlights of the interview?
Did anyone catch his interview with Charlie Sheen? It got Two and a Half Men's production suspended, apparently. That show should have been axed years ago. Anyway, Charlie Sheen is clearly out of his gourd.
Quote from: Max_TO on February 24, 2011, 09:04:02 PMi think that's the heart of the matter. there's a lot of money at stake. lots of streamlink subscribers continue to pay on the assumption they will catch art from time to time. lots of affiliates probably carry the show expecting art to grace their airwaves from time to time. it's a big selling point. without art... it's all greatly devalued.
...I really don't think he wants people to know Art has left .
Quote from: b_dubb on February 24, 2011, 10:36:27 AMthat, my friend, is a stroke of genius.
i vote that we call the group "Buck O' Five"
Quote from: IvannZ on February 24, 2011, 06:43:26 AMi'm so long out of touch with the show that i would be unaware of what they're doing, no matter what it is. also, regardless of what topics they cover, it won't make a difference for me so long as art isn't the host.
What topics would you like to hear on C2C? If this were a request board for the show, what would you like?
Quote from: aldousburbank on February 23, 2011, 07:27:49 AMa haircut and a real job.
Quote from: JustOneFix on February 23, 2011, 10:38:11 PMthat certainly was interesting. thanks for the link.
Something for the Beck haters(myself included) http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=174797.0
Beck got his start here in the Tampa Market, the thread I linked to is a pretty good read.
Quote from: b_dubb on February 23, 2011, 10:55:41 PMin large part, i think you're right.
imagine that you've been fighting the Japanese ... island hopping ... seen scores of men just like you being destroyed in unspeakable horror ... seen the POW's freed from prison camps clinging to life ... the reality of invading Japan would've been too much to consider. we would never have been able to get Japan to surrender unconditionally without the use of nukes. i don't think revenge enters into the decision. it was about saving American lives
Quote from: danDNA on February 22, 2011, 01:25:35 PMgreat work. you definitely know wtf you're doing.
