Wednesday night's Guest: Tess Gerritsen - Author

http://artbell.com/wed-sep-23-tess-gerritsen/

QuoteInternationally bestselling author Tess Gerritsen took an unusual route to a writing career. A graduate of Stanford University, Tess went on to medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was awarded her M.D.  Now retired from medicine, she writes full time.  Her books have been published in forty countries, and more than 30 million copies have been sold around the world.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Art always seems to have fun interviewing Tess. The two times she appeared on Coast with Art are two solid shows.

It just sounds so scripted. It doesn't sound like a conversation at all. Very cringeworthy.

It needs more screaming lady. :P

The more the merrier, indeed! :)

For anyone who is writing, calling or emailing radio stations, remember that you don't have to limit yourself to your local radio stations. By all means, contact any other radio stations across the nation. The more requests they receive, the better.

That's a great point.

No worries -- THANKS and the more the merrier!  ;D

The more people that contact them the more they are likely to listen.

That is awesome. I'm sending it to these guys in Cleveland who I don't think have anything going on overnight. Please anyone who cares to join me.  http://whkradio.com/ProgramGuide/Weekdays

I modified it thusly:

Did you know the legendary Art Bell is back with a new show - Midnight in The Desert? I'd LOVE it if you would carry it on KOKC and think it would get great ratings for your station. It currently streams on the internet and starting Oct 1st it'll be available via XDS satellite for broadcasters. He broadcasts midnight to 3am EST. Please check into carrying it as I already listen online but would love to be able to listen while in my car or on my radio without having to use a computer or tying up my smartphone. Here's a list of stations already carrying Art - http://artbell.com/radio-stations/ - and that list will undoubtably grow on 10/1. Info can be had by emailing affiliates@artbell.com.

A really cool aspect of Art's show is that since it's carried on the internet he gets callers from around the world - he's had many callers from Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia - and from the US too of course. But it's pretty cool that it's worldwide now - instead of just "Coast to Coast". Check out his new YouTube channel for some clips and highlights from the show -- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPX3zf5CH0R6GnOQAXABeQA .

Thanks and looking forward to hearing Art back on the air in Cleveland and beyond..

and submitted it here:

We have a new custom URL for the YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/artbell51

Please use that on all correspondence as artbell51 rolls off the tongue a little better than UCPX3zf5CH0R6GnOQAXABeQA

Nights like this remind me of those mid '90s episodes where Art was gaining affiliates at a great rate. I'm excited about this one. This feels right.

DING DING DING!!!!

Yes!

How good is that? Stations are gonna be lining up.

I don't believe so.

We'll be back next week.

What?  Did I miss something?  I thought we were encouraged to be Time Travelers and NOT to encourage this sort of thing.  Are you posting 'select' shows?

What am I missing in this equation?

The purpose of the YouTube channel is to give people who have not had a chance to listen to the live show or even heard of Art before a taste of what they are missing.

It's also marketing wrapped in a pretty package that can easily be shared via social media.

Most of what is on the channel are short clips highlighting the great and varied topics and guests that Art has and the quality of the interviews and different aspects of the show such as the great callers and wormhole questions (coming soon).

Occasionally we'll offer whole first hours to give people a taste of the longer format aspect of the show.

I don't believe having this will stop people from taking out a subscription. It's a tool to create awareness of Midnight in the Desert with Art Bell. The goal is to get people aware and listen live and the TT subscriptions will take care of themselves.

Fantastic Jaz!

Say, do you remember "First Caller Rose" (from Iuka Illinois) the sweet old gal who was so excited to learn she was actually speaking live on air with the one and only Art Bell. It truely is classic Art Bell time-capsual material. She was literally the first caller, first show, 10 to 15 mins in? easy enough to hunt down, if you're of a mind to.

Thanks

Thank you.

It's even easier to track down if you scroll up to the 8th post in this thread. Or you can just scroll a tiny bit down for convenience. ;) :P

Wow.....great work jaz!!! +++++1

This IMO will do more to promote Art and MITD than almost anything else. Now we all have to get these out there....everywhere on social media. Also for those writing to radio stations, be sure to include the YT channel in your correspondence.

Yes! Definitely share these clips and the YouTube channel with any electronic correspondence with Radio Stations. Also share it far and wide on Social Media. This is Art's Official Youtube Channel and it exists to give everyone a taste of Midnight in the Desert with Art Bell. That includes new fans, old fans and potential radio station partners.
