Totally agree. Don't get me wrong. Hearing some of the disco bumpers when he, finally, rolled out the new show in high-quality stereo was nice but...it was still better to listen in on WTWW and get some of the static. There is magic in the static and it also is "nostalgia" and the idea of "pulling in" the signal versus some bland, perfect signal. How many times on radio (in the old days) maybe even now sometimes, do you recall adjusting dials or antenna to listen to the end of a game, Art with a guest, etc. And driving those moments where you lost and frantically adjust? Strong Mexican (or other) stronger stations started bleeding in and frustrating you? Makes for drama and great radio!

With you there 100%. Made this point a few weeks ago on the MITD thread and no one seemed to agree...favoring weird-sounding compressed skype clarity over analog/nostalgia. I still listen to C2C every now and then for this reason-- though it does drive me insane when I can tell someone is calling in from an iPhone. Hurts the ears. Landlines really do sound significantly better and still have that grit.

It's just occurred that I legitimately wish I could hear Art's breathless commentary on this damn damned dam damage, because if there were ever a guy on radio who knows exactly what is going to happen with that structure, it is Art Bell.

Also, I am sure he is enjoying new and interesting ways to say... wait, wait, let me start over. New and damned interesting ways to talked about this damn thing. See? I suck at this. Pick up the stick, Fucker.

Totally agree. I don't care if I disagree with some of what he says politically, I just want to hear him talk about it!

And anyone dissing Devo, fuck you, that's personal!

There has been no corroboration. Just supposition by the press.  Wishful thinking by the press.  You're thinking like Hoagland.

Where were you when Kennedy volunteered to work for the KGB?  Where was the press?

Yeah it's a lot of anonymous sources, but that's how investigative journalism works, as evidenced by Watergate

My main point is just that I'm speculating that Art might be changing his mind about Trump.

it would be nice if you simply made a point rather than expect others to attempt extracting something useful from you.

I've made it clear that my purpose for posting earlier was not to argue about the news. I also explained my reasoning for why I "believe" certain claims by the media. We both know that we could go around in circles about this forever.

hey, that's cute.  you put quotes around a sentence and implied that it summarizes the thoughts of those who have the nerve to disagree with you.  well played.  however, you should ask yourself who popularized the "fake news" meme over the course of the last 18 months, what their motives were, and get back to me.

Was it the Globalists?

Nice try but the NYT can hardly be trusted to be unbiased. Did they not prove that during the election?  :D

I agree they're biased, I was infuriated at how much they puffed up Hillary during the primaries, but this is different. Reported widely by many news sources, and if you've been following along closely, a lot of dots are connecting. I read all kinds of news sites, liberal moderate and conservative, to get a perspective from all sides. New York Times just happened to be the ones to break this particular story, just like Washington Post happened to break the Watergate story.

Not trying to argue facts, just thought it was interesting that Art deleted ALL of his Trump posts.

Corroborated? Usually one would include references to back this up. I'll take it as just more conjecture on your part.  :D

Here's one, not gonna dig through the news for you but it's literally everywhere today,

What Russian ties?

Russian ties to the Trump campaign prior to the election. The ones that have been corroborated several times

Anyone else notice Art deleted all public Facebook posts praising Trump? Maybe he's finally getting a grasp on all these Russian ties.

I don't know why they do that. Even on my Windows computer it just wants to play a short part of the file and not download it. I removed the Windows Media Player and pretty much just use VLC exclusively. So I can't get it for you without a bunch of rigamarole.  :(

Here's something that might help you: http://ccm.net/download/download-13439-windows-media-player-for-mac If it will play the file, then you'll have to use some sort of audio recorder to save it in real time I imagine...

Hope this helps  :)

If all else fails, talk to the C2C people.

Thanks so much! I'll give it a shot.

yeah definitely. There's no denying that it's clearer. I guess I can't exactly articulate why I don't like how it sounds but something about it bothers me.

I haven't been a subscriber, or even listened, in a long time. Recently I did a cross country trip that included a LOT of driving, and I was able to tune into her Utah and Washington state affiliate radio stations that the Dark Matter site claims carry her show. None of them were carrying the show.

I subscribed recently again out of interest in her guests but I listen to one Open Lines episode and it was gross. I can't believe she's still on the "Everyone hates me and I don't care!" kick, and it seemed like no one was calling in. Also, I can't stand the audio quality of Skype callers (does anyone else agree? it sounds robotic and bad to me. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the landline audio). I remember semi-recently Art would always encourage listeners to call in using Skype headsets...

Anyways. Hope everyone is doing well. I'll check in on this show every once in a while, but it's looking like I'll just have to cling on to Knapp C2C shows for now.

#18
anyone have this Knapp show? Someone in this thread mentioned that it's good and it sounds really interesting. I'm a Coast Insider but this particular show is only available on Windows Media Player, and I have a Mac...

After reading some other articles I'm a little less excited. The fact that the Jodie Foster image is used for all of the articles also says a lot about how the media is going to treat this whole phenomenon if it were to ever truly gain steam with concrete proof. Joke about it, make clickbait articles, and then move on to Trump's next SHOCKING statement, or some terrorist attack in Europe.

This is incredible, why is it not all over the news? Could it actually be a Dyson sphere?!? Man where is Art Bell when you need him. Real "Contact" stuff here. SETI!

The fact that he didn't spend any extra time talking about Art really says a lot. I don't ever listen to Noory really, so I don't know how he's talked about Art on the show in the past, but he's got to understand that there are a LOT of carry-over listeners from Art's era that are very interested in how Art's doing, but have no access or interest in Facebook or Bellgab or even know what MITD is or was.

Did HW say that Art left the first hospital because they didn't have CNN News? That's bizarre.
Dave wins a point for hosting this "update." Probably got a few C2C Insider subscriptions out of it but I might have to deduct the point for mentioning that Art was a heavy smoker with COPD. Classy as ever.

I hope Art's feeling better despite all of this background BS.

It seems like Art's always loved CNN and has relied on it as his primary news source for decades (name dropped it constantly in the 90's, etc). But since his Trump endorsement he's been following the "anti-CNN" narrative. So yeah, I thought it was weird too that Art needs his CNN so bad that he relocated hospitals....

nathan; just curious,  did you cancel your subscription after Art quit?
If you did, I'm assuming that's the reason you cancelled.

For me, I wouldn't pay for a subscription to the show in its present form.
I don't have an axe to grind with anyone, and I don't have any ill will towards Heather.
This is just my honest opinion.

I quit longer after Art. Maybe in May-ish? I've heard enough Heather to last me a lifetime.

Hi Nathan. Listen to a few shows, then ask yourself if you'd pay a monthly subscription for it. Then you'll have your answer.  :)

I had a subscription for months but eventually cancelled.

How's this thing going? Still getting better every night? I haven't listened since I started a new job a while back.

I love that art on the podcast.
I will check it out this week-see if I can bring akwilly with me to discuss burning poop.
Thanks for bumping the post nathan.

No problem. Hope to hear from you on the air sometime. The sasquatch interview was bonkers (in a good way)
