Bellgab never shut down it just took a while to transfer all the NPC's to a new server and now the transfer is complete.

Where did you get the picture from?

So, I assume BG is now running under a new owner?

Hey, are you the same guy w/same screen name from the Paracast Forum?

IF yes, then we communicated there. I had a different screen name there.

Negative, the other guy would be an impostor in this scenario.

Gotcha. I didn't realize the connection between Ellgab and "team Dave".  Sounds like that forum was set up to snipe the BG users and turn it into a circlejerk for the other network?

I never signed up on the "new site", which I guess I can now wear as a badge of honor.

Does anyone here have a quick rundown of what the fuck has happened in the last several months?  All I know is that BG got shut down and everyone moved on to the "new site".  Now BG is suddenly inexplicably back online and everyone hates Dave Schrader now.  I can't keep up.

Dick Valentine is a national treasure, seen them live many times.

Saw E6 live once and met Dick after the show.

He wasn't that great of a guy, it was actually pretty disappointing to meet him.

Yeah that happens, can't recall which of the early call-ins it is, Mish Shedlock or Howard Bloom, one of those two I think. ???

Thanks.  I guess Noory is still trying to impress the executives in Los Angeles...

I don't listen to Coast To Coast anymore, but does George Noory still invite that shitlib cuck who always talks about "political news" at the beginning of the show and then spends 5 minutes bashing Trump?  Fuck that guy.  I don't get why Noory lets people come on and shill the fuck out like that, I bet Art is spinning in his grave with the amount of political bias Noory lets infest the show nowadays.

I do remember when alex was just shortwave. Yep I do miss the 90s. 8)

Same here.  I remember scanning through shortwave on my portable radio one late evening in the early 2000's and coming across an Alex Jones Show broadcast.  I was pretty surprised at the time because I thought he was internet-only.

Trying to.  I still can't make it more than a few minutes without being totally lost on Richard's explanation of any given topic.

To the extent there is a legacy, it's nearly nonexistant

Art Bell's legacy is the existence of the countless "Paranormal" radio shows (podcasts) out there today.  He pretty much invented the genre of "paranormal radio" and paved the way for what you now hear as mostly pathetic attempts to copy what he once did.  A good long read of "The Art of Talk" is really all anyone will ever need to fully understand Art Bell as a human being, he pretty well explains the fact that he was an unapologetic asshole who didn't let life's "inconveniences" get in the way of his beloved radio career and all of the money and women that came along with it.  It is what it is.

For me Art's legacy is simply the magic of his old shows, and I wouldn't care to make it any more complicated than just that.

Ahh, our precious PBS and her insight.. I agree completely. The upper case, cursive  letter “A” has been Art’s way of signing his name for as long as I can remember. I’m certain that’s Art’s signature.

Wish we could hear from Vickie too.  OMG, An Art Bell wives round table!  :o

Unfortunately the man we thought we knew had a past that I’m sure he wasn’t proud of.  Instead of facing it he ran from it. Trying to forget and bury the sorted life he lived. He left behind wives, children and hopefully he had to live with regret.

Then Art Jr. was brutalized. He claimed he did all he could to help him, but did he? Art seemed genuine in that he wanted to protect Art Jr at whatever cost.

Boy, would I love to hear about all these children coming together to become whole. What a testimony that would be for all of these beautiful people.

Isn’t it crazy though the way he pined over Ramona. Then Airyn came along, then more kids. He became outwardly the most protective, loving husband and father.  It’s crazy. He tried to be straight and then along comes HLW. He had no control.
A very intelligent man with many gifts, who could only live by allowing his senses and desires overtake any sensibility.

I hope that through all the love and support Art received from BellGab and all the fans that supported him, that we in time can see a happy ending for all of Art’s children from Big Brother Vincent to Baby Alex.
I think Vincent should take the lead as big brother, he sounds so confident and an overcomer. They’ll all need him to help walk through the reality of this melee. He seems like a strong individual.

I also hope that when Airyn finds that there are heirs from past relationships she’ll step up and try to help contribute to restoration

I believe that might help us, whom have been sickened by this reality to have some restoration too.

Might be living in Dreamland but there’s always hope....

Praise MV  Praise BellGab...

That's a good point about how Art played along with guests, but just as we're different listeners today, I wonder if some of the genre guests just aren't as good at stringing along the yarns. Have the guests that made Art's technique possible no longer around, or their aging presentations too dated, and the newer personalities not as good at the game?

Art was a smarter man and a better host, it's just as simple as that.  He knew how to keep the conversation fresh and free flowing unlike anyone else in talk radio.  Look at HW's style where she just asks her list of pre-planned questions and inserts as much fluffy bullshit as she can between them as needed to fill time.  She simply relies too much upon the guest to make the show interesting.

In contrast the interview style that Art Bell had with a guest was kinda like thoroughly reading a book, he would listen very attentively to what the guest was saying and then peel open each "chapter" of the guest's stories as they hit on interesting details.  He had a real talent for finding the most interesting tidbits and exploring them, a "free flowing" style, it wasn't just running down a list of boilerplate questions like other hosts do.

The biggest problem with HW and many other hosts is that they are simply not as genuinely passionate as Art was about the guest's material.  Art himself used to say that show prep was a very tedious process for him, probably because he took the time to actually learn the material and understand the topic before the interview.  He didn't just ask a list of pre planned questions that relied on the guest to make the show interesting, he had a very "dynamic" interview style that made his show very interesting no matter who the guest was.

You cannot fake passion or intelligence on a topic. It's a talent that cannot be taught, and HW is living proof.

Huh??  She literally opened the show as "Midnight In The Desert".

Anyone catch Weebler when he plugged his Dreamland guest Nick Redfern as being a guest "starting in 1912"?
