The article about the cult members who've left Meier recently is interesting. I've been reading about Scientology lately and there are a lot of similarities. The biggest differences seem to be lacks of drive and celebrities amongst the Meier congregation.

I'm somewhat reluctant to post the link since Horn thinks there's no such thing as bad publicity, but here goes.  It's a 2-part blog post with this being the second part:

I was banned based on a comment I made in part 1. I'm in good company on that "banned" list. Horn does not deal lightly with doubters on his blog. So, when he invites people from here to go to his site to debate with him, he doesn't really mean it.

Over on his own site, Horn is trying to blackmail some poor guy into apologizing for bad-mouthing Meier.

I've heard that the way to judge a religion is based on how its believers behave when they have power. Based on how pathetically Horn is exploiting the little leverage he has in this case, I think a Meier-run world would be worse than the inquisition.

Actually, his site is fascinating and doesn't make Meier look good, in my opinion. He has gone through almost every piece of evidence Michael Horn has ever presented in favor of Billy Meier and shredded it. If you have an interest in how people can believe something in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, read some of it. And, no, I have no connection to that site.

I think I remember that guy. If I remember correctly, his English got a lot worse as time passed.
