Radio and Podcasts / Re: Midnight in the Graveyard

The first word of MIDNIGHT is the keyword in the name of Art's show "Midnight in the Desert."

It's also the nickname of the show. Think when Art answers a call and says, "Hello, you're on Midnight."

"Darkness in the Desert" is a very cool name, but as a marketing guy, I like how "Midnight in the Graveyard" just rings in correlation with "Midnight in the Dessert."

"Ghost to Ghost Digital" was always a terrible name idea. Yes, it is a digital medium, I get it, but that doesn't mean you have to tack the word "digital" onto it. It kind of sounds like when some out of touch person still uses the word "cyberspace" or "hyperlink" (instead of just "link").

End over-analyzing rant.

I second what MV said on a previous Gabcast.

These Skype callers (call quality wise) sound great.

I miss the 1997 call quality sound.

Why are these callers so stupid?  Annoying.

Concerning the photo of Art that Jimmy retweeted...

I've attached the real photo in this post, but in case that doesn't work, the photo is linked Time.com profile piece on Art below.

I've often have wondered if anyone here used to listen to George's "Night Hawk" show on KTRS/St. Louis and if so, was the show any good.

I'm a graphic designer, so any additional Photoshop work that might be necessary, please feel free to PM me.

Not a game changer by any means, but I had a radio and media blog that generated decent traffic via organic search results. The blog, which is still online, is idle since the start of 2015, but I can't think of a better reason to bring it out of mothballs by writing about Art's return and how people can listen to it.

Another idea, which could get complicated as far as generating funds from the community, but doable is to pay for some Google Pay-Per-Click ads or even Facebook advertising for Art's new show. For Google, maybe promote basic keywords such as "Paranormal Radio, "Paranormal Podcasts," "Alternative Talk Radio," etc.

I recently emailed back and forth with Keith. At the moment, it doesn't sound like the Midnight in the Desert podcast will be available via RSS (for those with Android or iPhone devices that wish to play the show via apps like DoggCatcher, BeyondPod, Downcast, etc.).

I politely explained to Keith that such apps do allow for a secured RSS feed to be accessible via the assigned username and password issued by DarkMatterDigitalNetwork.com (case in point, Bryan Alverez's WrestlingObserver.com allows this).

If listening to Art's show via RSS is important to you, you may wish to email Keith and let him know. The more people that contact him, the more incentive it hopefully gives him to consider this route (not sure how well the Dark Matter website will play podcasts on mobile devices -- it might vary by OS and browser).

Art put the cutest pic on FB. I don't feel at liberty to post it here though. He sure looks great!

Like MV, I'm not over him shaving the mustache.

The potential consequence I see as a result of Keith leaving is Art and trust.

Hiring a webmaster and/or a tech guru who can build an infrastructure that can accommodate what Art deems necessary for the new show is easy. But with Art, I suspect there will be a lot of issues concerning with trust, which more than anything, may give him cold feet about truly moving forward with this.

I would hope that the best case scenario is that maybe some of the competent people at BellGab are in a position to help Art. I hope I'm not out of line for merely mentioning this, but it was on last week's GabCast where, MV or someone stated their means for streaming is all Art would really need -- and they pull it off without a hitch.

So it sounds like Keith was way over his head with this project to begin with, and the fact that Art told him to stop being an asshole finally made him crack.

Poor Keith. The fact that the world evolved and no longer relies on straight hand-coded non-mobile responsive websites was too much for him.

Just a suggestion: To see all of Art's posts here on the board you can go to the top of this page and click on members. Click on Art's name and then click on 'Show Posts'. You can go back and look at everything that Art has posted. It's a good way to see Art's updates without tying to read through pages of postings.

I booked marked Art's profile page some time ago and always check to see his recent posts. I think it might be a good idea for the mods here to add Art's profile as a link at the top of this page.

I know my back is at an all-time worse when I'm unable to put on my socks or tie my shoes. Luckily, I only get such flare-ups once or twice a year for a few days. I can't imagine how demoralizing it is for those who have it worse.
