1) bomb (and type,) earthquake, ship anchor, some other natural event?

2) why was there a yuuge methane leak if, as the news was claiming earlier, that Russia shut down Nord Stream 1, and threatened 2, why would there be a gas leak after the 'event?'

3) Much has been made of Biden's threats, or comments, to the Nord Stream pipelines a while back but he likely doesn't recall them and might not have meant what he threatened or said.

4) Why did the 'events' happen just after the opening of "Baltic Pipe" a new pipeline from Norway to Poland?

5) Cui bono? This could be several parties or countries. Russians were initially blamed, and it could be, but doesn't seem logical when they make money off it, they could simply shut it down (as all the news was claiming,) and it will cost a lot to fix.

I was actually shocked that traffic was not that bad at all coming back, West, from outside far Houston area to Centex area (this was many hours ago though and I met them right at I-10 interchange, so roughly 1/2 way between.) And many might've left already or taken other routes out. Local AM talking about lack of hotel rooms in area. Not sure how true and at what cost.

As some might know I'm a big fan. Anyone watching the Greatest Of All Time show? So far, so good. Folks doing a lot of real daily doubles and not many missed questions. I don't like all the Disney/ABC categories and celebrities reading the answers. But, I guess, expected. Aside from that good stuff and I figure since primetime and hyped they will continue to do my hated categories like pop music, celebrities, modern tv crap. But, oh well......
I want Jeopardy! to bring back the news reporter and entertainer celebrity shows because it shows how clueless they are. Even about events they supposedly are reporting on!

I've noticed my old phone has problems with internet, especially wikipedia and duckduckgo, especially when using 'anonymous' browsers like Dolphin Zero etc. I get memos like "Deprecating TLSv1.0 and TLSv1.1" and such.

This time Midland/Odessa area. )Not, hopefully HS FB related.) Reports vary between victims, number of shooters, etc. No motive but one reported "group planned." What does that mean: cartels, rightwing nutjobs, Arab terrorists, crazy white teen losers, bank robbering gone bad, etc? Finally the national news breaks into football games.  Sad. Now the national news, not local news, says "the SUSPECT" has been killed- before there were at least two, reportedly THREE with two separate high-jacked cars (one a USPS vehicle.) They stopped all USPS mail deliveries so cops could identify, I hear.

"situation developing." Sad. As per normal sources are all over the place from 18 injured to 18 dead. Accounts vary from one shooter to multiple shooters. From one in custody to three in custody. And commentary about how surveillance could be better by tracking all cars and people in real time (this one from CBS.) And the obvious anti-gun agenda but the politician, Rep Blanco interviewed said "focus on the families first and resolve this scenario." Beto was in Las Vegas and commented his thoughts "he is headed home." 

"UPDATE: 1:06 p.m. â€" An officers on the scene tell KTSM that 18 people are dead at the scene. An updated number of injured has not been given by EPPD.  We are waiting to confirm from an El Paso Police spokesperson."UPDATE: 12:46 p.m. El Paso Mayor Dee Margo confirms to KTSM that there are multiple fatalities involved in today’s shooting at Walmart. Margo says that three suspects believed to be involved were taken into custody. El Paso Police are expected to give a press conference within the hour. "


Now they are saying one in custody and no more threats.  No descriptions of the suspect shooter(s) so far except a male. And still not sure if other perps.

As expected: lots of conflicting information. Mayor claims 3 in custody. Police says 1. "A fluid situation" and also whether there were multiple shooting locations? Reporters aren't helping a chaotic situation.

Anyone recall the awesome "underground" tapes of John Bean? Traded by cassette tapes. And then copied by some Shock Jocks in Tulsa who, admittedly, were also pretty funny. I'm not sure if the latter was all true? I've seen some claims that "shock jock" calls are all staged due to legal issues but I think some in the early days really did them. I think early Hendrie was legit because they called in versus him calling out. And John Bean's were done for his, and his own friends, amusement I think. He died after they started to go viral.

He had some interesting shows but, apparently, he "upset" the wrong people and was canned by his network. Interestingly, and soon after, he tragically died "from a fast acting cancer" according to the rare reports on him. I never knew about him much until a few years ago the final "controversial" broadcast which is worth a listen, especially considering Canadian broadcasting under the no free speech rules there and normally polite Canadian mentality; hockey aside. Not saying anything but an interesting show especially considering the "rules" up there, regardless of the truth or whatever. One wonders if he knew he was on last legs and decided "F It I'm going all in" or, possibly, other scenarios?

Thankfully they got the guy. Looks like he was "on the radar" for a bit. The Motion for Detention is an interesting read. The news didn't say how they got him just showed the "stockpile" of evil guns and mention "rightwing." They did mention Marine, Army, and then current Coast Guard also.  But they got him due to internet tracking and initial charged crime was possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm and/or ammunition by an addict or unlawful user of a controlled substance.

Over the years reading various books, especially in the world of business or politics, etc but also in novels (where I suspect in the "thriller" genre an AI might be just spitting them out and in "mysteries" that, supplanted with some small edits that old theories, ideas, and methods, are just re-marketed.)  We all know Hollywood just remakes stuff. And that might be ok, or even good, but I wonder if any new ideas, plots, thoughts, are happening? Will/does the internet actually HAMPER new ideas or thoughts? Does "sharing" too quickly inhibit independent thought? Does this hive-mind help innovation or make people drones? In the "old days" you had systems like calculus etc thought-about and made by people on their, relatively, own? Now? Most would go down the same path and, maybe, not figure it out? Or, as some say, the "collective" will benefit?

What is easiest, best way. I have an old laptop running Linux Mint and have Audacity but never used via a "line in". Is that program the easiest way, assuming I figure that out? Or is there a better program? Want to get some old cassettes into MP3. Audio not music. Not  forgotten Art, sadly, but some family interviews from old folks decades ago. They are not stereo and I figure I'm not going to try to adjust audio etc but would like, if easy, to have 'tracks' not the whole tape on one file. But could live with it. I also figure that the tape player (one player) would have to play at normal speed?

Hold a vigil and talk about how good Islam is and that should solve the problem. Is this a marketing gimmick? Apparently not?

Who want some foreign corporation, or anyone, to erase your memories simply so you can watch tv shows again? If the technique actually works I could see some possible therapeutic value for those severely abused, PTSD, etc but then only from a trusted person/source with lots of oversight- but just so you can watch tv and done over the internet for anyone? How/why would someone trust it to only "erase" your tv viewing memories?
