Politics / Re: Joe Biden 2020

I am not just frightened with Joe Biden appears on a jumbotron, but any president. It seems 1984ish no matter who it is.
That said.. anyone catch the boos' with their booze at the Covid Bowl last night?
The socials seemed uptight about the reaction of the cardbboard cutouts to Joe Pa..

...question for those who know. I have always felt there was more excitement to the "Chase" opening song when Art was on.. obviously. But now i see another reason why. When you listen to the version used in the 90s and early 2000s before Premiere firmly implanted its talons into the program, a different version of the song was used. One that I cannot find anywhere..
Does anyone have that late 90s version?

”It’s a BellGab Covid Christmas.”  Coming to the Hallmark Channel!

Already singing the tunes..
"Ill have a Bellgab Covid Christmas without Art"

"I'm dreaming of a White Pahrump, just like Heather used to know"

"Hark, the Hoagland with his Moon Base!"

"Joy to the World, Noory is Off"

I shall be so busy catching up on all the posts I've missed..
What a whirlwind of time since I was here. But I lurk.. maybe from a larger distance as of late. You know, COVID and all that.
Sorry to break up the conversation. Proceed as normal.

Clyde the Glide is especially on fire lately... we will see what new management does. But he may be the last best hope for late night AM radio. But I never listen live.. PODCAST it the next morning drive....

An hour's drive, would have gone if someone worth hearing would have been there.  The two women are of zero interest, and Friedman has become the cheesy lounge act of ufology who does little more than speak badly of everyone in the field who doesn't bow down to him.

And he will sing ... he will sing.

LMH's voice doesn't get any easier on the ear, does it? Anyone would think she was, like, 77 years old... er, wait....

It's that hard core .. in your ear... facts and alien cow impregnation kind of chatter...
Interesting that HOWE was back with other guests.. the night that KNAPP could not do the show some several weeks ago, Howe was slated to be the only guest. That night "technical issues" kept the show from being broadcast--first rerun on Coast in years.

Gotta say it was nice to see all of you guys (and wonderful gals!) last night in the chat room. You helped take the edge off of what was for me like all of you ,a sad day. Will miss you a lot Art. Your voice and stories carried me through a lot of nights. Playing Ghost 2 Ghost all weekend. My favorite episodes! And to you folks here in BG, thanks for renewing my love of "spooky" shows and helping me  find Art again. I guess I owe Art for bringing me here to make some new friends. Stories? got one or two. One of the first times I listened was when he was in California doing West Coast AM. Flying nights out of a desert local and listening on the ADF radio in the aircraft.  Arts show was mostly politics at the time but he was slowly getting into conspiracy and the paranormal. Someone called in about some "black" helicopters flying with no lights. I had to grin, because we were the black helicopters. LOL! We weren't well known yet so no one knew what we did. Funny! If I knew I wouldn't get in some deep shit and had a landline ( no cell phones yet) I would have called in just for fun. And no, we weren't UN terror troops, just guys doing some irregular training. But listening became a habit so when he moved to Nevada and changed to Coast to Coast I listened whenever the band was right and I could hear him. Once he was syndicated I listened whenever I could.

Thanks Art You will be missed W6OBB de AD5NW  R.I.P.

I honestly had a plan to write a book about him.. I needed some assistance on the formative years but had everything necessary to compile the previous 30. I just needed to score the ultimate interview: Him.

Jorch: "We are so saddened to hear about Art's untimely passing, but have a look at these products!"

That freakin' pissed me off right there.  He goes right into shilling.

He is either naive to understanding how to make GREAT radio .. how to shift away from the advertising and just do real good radio.
Or he is breathing a sigh of relief that the anchor won't weigh him down anymore. No more coming back rumors for his competition.

If this doesn’t deserve one I guess nothing does.  I took a peak in here this morning and was a bit surprised.  I always thought Art’s latest show departure was for health reasons.  He gave enough hints and this seems to confirm it.

The culmination of all of the decades of entertainment.. A Friday the 13th when the United States bombs another nation. And Art Bell leaves the earthly dwelling. Have lurked here for a bit but not posted for a lot. This event brought me out of the malaise ..

I am seeing a differing amount of views on here at this time. Showing how fragmented social media life has become..

There seems to be something very very appropriate about a Friday the 13th death for the talk show legend who changed all of our collectives lives...

Of course, the other thing on this as has been noted by others here, is that George claims to be a big fan of the Twilight Zone, yet only cites the same two or three episodes over and over.

I missed last night's show.  I don't believe Craig B Fraudlet was the originally scheduled guest.

I have Coast Insider, I need to find exactly what Fraudlet said on Jeb Bush becoming President in the 2016 election.  It was something like "I'm not giving you my prediction, I"m telling you what is going to happen.  You don't actually have a say in the matter, it's already been decided."

Of course, Fraudlet now completely denies he ever said any such thing.

Why do so many people still pay for 'coast insider'...?

I wanted to check: did Art Bell not begin discussing paranormal topics on C2C until after 1993?   Or was '93 the year that marked the change?

I know AB is on record as having discussed the Waco siege on C2C.  However, I'm not clear on whether the programme made the leap to an all-paranormal show that year or 1994.

I recall Ghost to Ghost starting around 93/94 or somewhere in there. Love the story how Lear was the original "UFO" show that caused the surge in paranormal interest. He struck while the iron was hot in the 90s at this point ..

Um, here’s just a sample of George Ralph Noory and his NORCOM business-practice actions from years ago. There’s another five pages or so of filings against him, but darn, some of us have lives and there’s enough against Noory to keep investigators busy for days.

If this man acts in good faith in business or even personal matters, then George Noory must be right and the rest of the world is wrong, huh?, or how he’d spin it. Some massive “conspiracy,” no doubt, to suppress his greatness, truth, love, light and being the self-professed “anointed one” of the world:

There you go, all. There’s a lot more â€" one heck of a lot more â€" in those Missouri public records where that mere “handful” of bad-faith business tactics came from. Wow! Even a housing lawsuit leveled against his condo home, then a lawsuit against him for that Jaguar car he bought.

Looks like he gave people his word and had no issue with lying and even breaching contracts? Then people today feel they might have been ripped off by this huckster? Look up the history of George Noory and you will deduce it’s a history of lies, cheating and being nothing like the “light and truth” he claims to be.

Cordially,
James Alex Gerard

Yep and also another rule , only 1 prediction per caller.
They are breaking all the old rules multiple times tonight.

It all seemed wrong last night.
New Years predictions was probably the best show when Art did it--I think they were more fun than even the Ghost to Ghost shows. Always enjoyed them..
It went down hill after he left.

Last night I gave good Dave a chance..
I first was somewhat amazed that George Noory didnt do the prediction show.. it was almost like a kick in the face to the tradition in a sense. But that was fine, no big loss..
Schrader, who i love on his own show, always seems to become way too overdone on then ADS, the Giam TV, the dating stuff, and the content seems to get lost. I that was particularly the case last night.
I had little to no interest in the show.

The tradition for me is now officially over. No enjoyment at all came from it.

The newer internet shows and podcasts have siphoned a lot of the C2C audience over the years (combined with terrestrial radio's ever-decreasing relevance in general) so this is actually a clever play by George - not only does having these hosts on neutralize some potential competition, it feeds the smaller audiences back into the 'top' property in the genre.
Very clever indeed.........
