My sister (50-ish, excellent health and fitness, works in the publishing industry) got the first shot last week. She jumped the line because her son works for a Walgreens. He called her and said that if she could get there by 6, she'd get vaccinated. She talked to the nurse about it, who told her that a lot of people who work at the places where vaccinations are being offered are bringing in relatives and even friends to get the shots.
Both she and my 70-year-old cousin said that the side effects were mostly fatigue and headaches, lasting about a week.
I'm 72 and have some health issues, and the State of Michigan tells me there are 660,000 people ahead of me in the line.
