In the Smoky Mtns of East TN I have seen the TN Highway Patrol (State Troopers) investigate and help the Park Service.  I saw them investigate the Derek Lueking case.  I was hiking to Mt LeConte lodge and saw his abandoned vehicle. 

I live near the Smoky Mtns (GSMNP) and have heard of feral people and isolated people living "in the hills".

There are a few cases that remains show up but several I know of never have remains or physical evidence.

Judaculla Rock attributed by the Cherokee to the "slant eyed giant" Judaculla or Tsul Culla in WNC near WNC University.

In the land of the Cherokee (Eastern Band) in the Caney Fork Community of Cullowhee, NC near WNC University is that particular rock. 

Attached is an old photo of it.  According to oral tradition the monument predates the Cherokee and its admitted they inherited it (unlike all the stuff the Eqyptians inherited). 

I also like Fortean travel adventures.  In October I am going to Ireland.  I'll start a Fortean Photo Thread or "Travel photos to send to Art Bell" thread.
