Politics / Re: Wikileaks Megathread
October 13, 2016, 01:38:08 AM
You shake your head and go back to sleep. You see a parade of little boats carrying uranium from the US to Russia. A pretty line of putt-putt boats. You chuckle. Row, row, row your boat…merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily…life is but a dream.

Good times.

as Bill Ivey wrote to John Podesta: “And as I’ve mentioned, we’ve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking â€" and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging.” So, as can be seen on EVERY “NEWS” channel to one degree or another…..”news” is disregarded, discredited and politicized……to achieve the goal of an “unaware and compliant citizenry.” There goes the first and second amendments.

Funny thing about that: Even people doing a non-phone-in (or Skype-in) show say there's something lost when going from live to pre-recorded.  I found that out when "Post Serial", a weekly comedy program, went off WCWP (C.W. Post College), Brookville, Long Is.  Some alums of that program have gone on to bigger things in radio, e.g. Mike Mamon on WABC.  They stopped doing it because their schedules no longer permitted it.  I asked, why not pre-record, especially considering that some of their funniest segments were pre-recorded bits?  It was either Time Hernandez or Rich Fresita who answered that they got valuable feedback from people phoning them off-mic while they were on air.  Apparently they felt it made a big difference as to the quality of the program they thought they could do.

Sure that makes perfect sense, but in light of the circumstances he could phone some interviews in maybe a couple nights a week randomly there fore throwing off the terrorist and still continuing the show. Or get a RV and take the show on the road, pull his child out of school hire a tutor and homeschool or let the wife do so, whatever works and do the show from the road or somewhere else. I wouldn't stick around the home with this crazy guy coming around.

Maybe she couldn't hear it in her IFB. Otherwise it should be easily potted down on a mixer.

There should be a gate on the audio so that when not talking the mic effectively shuts off til a high enough talking voice commences.

Why not just do a podcast? No need to do a live show can upload the podcast at will whenever he likes until this clears up? Then you could play that podcast and put in the breaks and bumper music as Art needs, having that show on here then.

Here's another one for Art.

maybe he showed the wife a copy of today's cancels and the fact he may have to write a check to settle tabs and she backtracked.

I'm not unsubscribing til this has more time to sink in on all parties involved. Take a wait and see approach.

I have to agree - he's obviously right back in there right now.  I think that might be a great compromise!

And I was wondering where you were -- never saw you when I'd drop by.  So hi.  :)

Been busy, writing music. Making an album, I listen as a time traveler when I cannot get on here.

Maybe Art should just buy an RV and hook it up where he can broadcast from anywhere.  He could travel the country and nobody would know where he was until the show.

Adam on NoAgenda does that from time to time, rolls around in a RV and broadcasts from a random location. Take to the road Art, home-school your daughter.

Yeah, that's pretty huge. Also, I'd assume there would be more than 51 states by then.

It's already not in effect, contrary to what most think.

My 9 yr old prays for the victims of Paris every night since the attack, for whatever that maybe worth. She quite enjoys your show. Maybe you can go on random days of the week? Or just take a week off or do two shows a week? Like a weekend gig? Why stick to 5 nights a week? Though we'd love that, but I don't see how he can NOT talk to an audience, it's in his freakin' DNA.

And this maybe how you respond to terror...you don't back down!

You'll actually make better use of your time and actually laugh a little bit if you head over here...

Oh so Art jumped back on after we turned into raging monkeys throwing stuff at our cages?

Are there actual police reports of this "terrorist" cause someone else had said they went and looked for police reports which are public record, and nothing came up. I'd be happy to help get guests if he's looking for a new direction, please just say so. My wife works in publishing, we can get all kinds of people on the air, he could interview the leader of the band that was attacked, WTH, whatever he needs to feel more interested. I've already turned the show off.

I guess the terrorists win then? So we just back down and run away? I don't know but that seems kind of letting the bad actor win and get the best of you. I'd rather die on my feet on a stage in a club in Paris than run away. Even my buddy will go back to Batacaln and play in Feb. And they were literally gunned down, and they will stand up and not turn back from that fight.

Don't know if any of you have seen this one yet...Putler. I don't actually dislike him, but yeah he's kind of a gangster. At least he goes after the Islamic nutjobs.
