I just listened to the show and I really don't know what Hogue's problem was. I do think he's become so used to coasting through George's interviews that he's forgotten how to be engaged and challenged, and that was precisely what Art was doing.

Dark Matter has been on youtube...although one of the persons that started uploading them the first week stated that there were rights issues with some of the bumper music used on the show, so now basically they're up but without the music.

I'd forgotten how much Art challenged and disagreed with Richard. This is great stuff!

Loved the "Tasty Canadians" line at the start. A nice shout out to Ian.

Listening to the debut show with Dr. Kaku...and my goodness...what a difference between Art and George. Art engages with the guest, asks him poignant questions, guides the interview. George barely did any of that. It also helps that Art is interested in the things that Dr. Kaku is talking about. Just comes across as a much more natural conversation. I'm so happy Art's back!

All of those quotes posted made me both laugh and cringe. Typical Dave. Also during the secret bases interviews again he also did one of his "I was just going to say..." statements right after the guest made a comment, as if suggesting that he thought of it. He does this all the time. It really is difficult to get through an entire show these days, even when there are guests I'm actually interested in listening to just thanks to Noory.

Dan's been gone before but found ways to return...it'd be the ultimate irony if he jumps to 1040 a year or so after Pratt signed with the station. I don't know though if he'd be a good fit their since over the last few years he's usually taken the opposite views of most of their hosts.

I don't know what the ratings are for C2C on NW, but I guess they must be quite high if they're willing to do this. This is quite the drastic shift for them. I do remember reading an article when C2C was on CFUN that it was fairly high and the most popular over night show in the city. It's going to be strange on the radio here come Sep. Thanks for the article btw!

Listened to last night's show and thought the guest was quite interesting. It was pretty clear though that Dave started to run out of questions to ask him and not repeat asking him during the end of the second hour.

Also it is confirmed. C2C is going live finally (after I think two years now on NW98). Not sure what is happening to Sports Talk but Network Replay (classic radio hour that has been on at midnight for literally decades) is being moved to the website, good news though it will be available 24/7 there.

Wow. Tomorrow is actually a show about UFO's and secret bases. I might actually have to listen, something interesting instead of the constant health shows.

So NW is going live with Coast now? I wonder how that will affect Sports Talk since that has been a staple until midnight basically?

George gave me a laugh in the first hour of tonight's show when he thought the guest was saying that he had drama in his home when in fact she was talking about in a general sense.  "Oh there's no drama in my house." was his reply with an awkward chuckle.

What a moron.

I too enjoyed last night's show. Ian was engaging with his questions, obviously showing a lot of interest and excitement about the topic, unlike Noory on most occasions with his guests. I'll miss Ian.

I believe his first show in Vancouver was sold out as well. I watched some of the live feed video they did for it...he came out at the start of the show and taunted the crowd with a Detroit Red Wings jersey (this was a few years ago now when the Wings were one of our top rivals). He got a chorus of boos for a reaction. I actually had wanted to go to that event. That is how much George has deteriorated in my eyes since. Now I could care less. I did listen to the Peter Lance half of the show earlier this week and he was great on it. First time in several weeks that I've listened to the show.

Alex used to be one of my favourite guests to listen to...as someone else above stated, he can be very entertaining...but recently I've just found him tiresome, like George, and didn't bother to listen last night. In fact I don't think I've listened to a full show in weeks now.

^ That's probably one of the most annoying things Noory does during an interview that bugs me. I'll be listening to a segment and the guest will be talking, and then a second later George will repeat a question or ask something that the guest has just literally finished talking about. It really is like he's not listening when they're talking.

Just saw the listing for next week's guests. I guess this will be another week of not listening to the show for me. Sigh. C2C used to be must listen every day for me, now it's getting to be...must avoid :(

Yeah, NW was the station I mentioned last night that had the Ian repeat on. They had jazz music or something the first hour and then aired the repeat from 2pm onwards. I wonder if it will happen again tonight?
#18
I'm not sure why but my station is playing a repeat show with Ian. It's the show dealing with Jim Sullivan. Ian was in for George in this one, again, I have no idea why the station is airing an repeat. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I" had just come out...Ian mentioned this, so that is how far back this repeat is. The second hour guest deals with England and magic. Again. I have no idea why the station is airing a repeat.

I'm getting tired of these pre-millennialism guests.  They of course pretty much talk about the exact same thing over and over again, doesn't matter who he has on about it, they all eventually break down the same stuff. It's boring now.

The way George told that pizza roll story, you'd think he'd ate one with a ghost chilli in it or something. I've burned my tongue on a pizza pop or pizza pocket before, but I've not heard of a story where it caused second degree burns or whatever George claimed it was. Linda is on tonight so that means I won't be listening.

Mike Siegel was pretty bad...but not as bad as George has been. I liked Rob Simone's shows. He seemed genuinely interested in the guests and asked decent questions, unlike George.

I actually quite enjoyed the main guest last night...but George...was it just me or did he butcher the pronunciation of kabala after saying it right the first time (after the Rabi said it?)...oh and the whole I thought of the rock when I was six thing was ridiculous. Way to already make yourself more important than the guest George. The guest was hilarious too. I think he was picking up on George's usual bumbling and was poking fun at him lol.

I've been lurking around here for a couple of weeks and have found this thread to be a kindred spirit of sorts. I have listened to Coast to Coast since October of 1998 (Ghost to Ghost of that year was actually my first show) and what I attempted to listen to last night was not Ghost to Ghost. I lasted I think until about the third hour and then had to shut it off. I too have noticed George's bumbling and simple-minded ineptness during interviews now over the last couple of years (I know it's gone on longer than that but it's only been the last year or so where I really began noticing it). Not really listening to his guests, repeating questions after the guest has already answered that question maybe ten or fifteen minutes before, interrupting them, everything that has been covered in this thread basically. I used to listen nightly. Then I became selective, and now I barely listen at all. Maybe here and there. I will still catch Ian's shows, and George Knapp on Sundays...John Wells started off all right but then started to irritate me as well. It's really sad what's happening.

I can remember a while ago, probably sometime last year, a caller phoned in and tried to note (Ian was hosting that night) how different Coast had become in recent time and while Ian was his usual diplomatic self basically dismissed her concerns and said that it is still the same show that it had always been. That was when I knew that I was not alone and noticed the change as well. It's not the same show. I thought Mike Siegel's time was bad...but this might be worse. I was a big Noory fan at first as well...but not any more. Just thought I'd toss in my own frustrated experience.
