Hey NB. Good to see you posting.

I'm going to try listening to both Heather and Hoagie this week.  See which is easier to listen to without stopping the stream.  :P

Judging by the lack of activity tonight, it's obvious that everyone is riveted to this enlightening conversation.  ::)

I'm legit curious how much the number of live listeners has dropped in the past six months.  I figured BG would be the most active forum, but I've barely seen anything involving tonight's show lmao.

Probably not the greatest, but holy fuck I really like this song.

I searched "vaporwave" and didn't find any results, so let's fix that.

VoteQuimby/bateman,

When you contended with Heather on the gabcast, you behaved not just in an ungentlemanly fashion, but very much like an adolescent boy denied a video game by his mother.

I thought I was the only one that got that vibe of petulance when listening to that gabcast.

I "share" waking dreams when my dogs whimper and move their legs whilst asleep.

I think they are reliving the squirrel-hunt from the otherday/future.

'pologies Zeebs, if you see this, my animals are brutes...

My dog's a golden retriever and she tore a dove into pieces a couple weeks ago.  Not sure if it was already dead or if she got to it quickly.

Looks like replacement batteries are pretty cheap.

3rd party knockoff accessories are usually a gamble (I got a chinese knockoff xbox 360 250gb hard drive off amazon.  It works fine except for the fact it won't play original xbox games), but this looks pretty cheap.  Might be worth a shot.

My PSP is slowly dying.  I can't play anything on it without leaving the AC adapter plugged in, or else it will just randomly shut off (dead battery most likely).  I'm trying to play some stuff on it before it completely kicks the bucket.  It was pretty cool for its time and sure as hell has better game selection than the Vita (which is almost completely obsolete only a couple years after it was released).  I guess Sony can't develop mobile consoles worth a damn because Nintendo has had that market pretty much cornered with the DS line.

Sick burn by Art there with Noory's "coinshidenshes" line.

I can't connect to the chat, so I'm just going to post here for now.

MV tried calling me on skype an hour earlier and I missed it because Skype mobile is complete garbage.

I like how my two favorite radio shows of all time both ended in fucking meltdowns where the fanbase turned on the host(s).  Feels good.

Art doesn't like us anymore.

Did anybody else unfriend him after this or is it just me?

You guys did it.  You've successfully made Art hate BellGab and made his remaining fans look like sycophantic Pollyannas.  I'm proud of y'all.

I think the ship could be saved completely if Art just releases a statement saying he's taking a break for an indeterminate short period of time to address this situation, he made some rash decisions out of panic and that he'll back soon.

Yeah he lost an affiliate and looks like a disgraced loon right now but this could be overcome pretty easily if he wanted it to be. If he left for a week or two, did what he needed to do and then jumped back on the air and delivered a solid two weeks on the radio all of this would be funny and forgiven.

Also I think Art doesn't quite understand social media in 2015. All of this shouldn't have played out publicly and I think all the negativity is getting to the machine. But in 2015 people are just bitchy, entitled and complain about everything. That's what people do.

Hit the nail on the head.

Art mentioned that he ate a cost of $20k to start up the show after buying the equipment, while factoring in distribution and advertising. There's no way he recouped on his investment in less than five months with their subscription model.

What a wonderful business model.

Step 1.  Invest a ton of money in new equipment and an entire network for your broadcast
Step 2.  Gain revenue with advertising, premium subscriptions, and terrestrial affiliates
Step 3.  Bail out right when you break even.
Step 4. ???
Step 5.  Profit!!!

Even if this guy or girl who's been shooting at or lighting fireworks near Art's place gets caught, does anyone think Art is really coming back?

It's not a matter of that, it's a matter of whether the affiliates are willing to play along if he does come back.

Probably going to download as many MITD shows as possible and stick them into the archive on my hard drive.  Then cash out ASAP.

I was also going to add Stone Temple Pilots to the list of bands I liked that I had forgotten about. It was mentioned in that video you posted. So I guess Weiland just died. I did want to ask though, is that guy in the video some sort of reporter? He spends the first 30 seconds of what you posted with his opinion that all these bands suck. Then he goes into Kurt Cobain's addiction. None of his 'reporting' had much to do with the music. The best part of the video is when he showed the videos of the bands he was denigrating. The saving grace of this video was when he played a little guitar at the end.

He used to review for Pitchfork.  You can't find any of his stuff on the site anymore since they gave him the redacted treatment after the Conde Nast acquisition.  So he has a reputation as a bitter ex-Pitchfork writer, and I can't really argue with that.  Dude's an asshole but he's entertaining as hell if you follow him on Twitter or his podcast.

Hey Banana, glad you're still with us. I happened to grow up in Seattle and listened to those bands before mtv got a hold of them. I like Pearl Jam and Mother Love Bone myself...and Nirvana for that matter. I guess you could call it depressing, it was a lot better than what came before. Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crue?!

You should check out the rest of the video then.  Part of the video is his first person perspective of how teens at the time (late 80s, early 90s) were starving for something like Nirvana and were sick of bands like Motley Crue, EMF, Living Colour, etc and how much of a gamechanger Nirvana was.  And also how the record industry milked the grunge thing dry once they realized Nirvana wasn't really going anywhere after In Utero.

Bullshit bro.  It's a hallucinogenic.  Do some research.

Nah.  I've done a ton in one sitting, never hallucinated.  All it did was make me sleepy and horny.

Pearl Jam.  This guy puts it better than I can.

"That was fucking hair metal, funk metal bullshit.  Fuck that band, fuck Green River, Mother Love Bone.  That shit was fucking lame when it came out.  None of us liked those bands.  Those were fucking funk-metal jam bands.  Anybody who's trying to tell you that those bands were like, you know,  "proto-grunge", get the fuck out of here.  Those were fucking hair metal bands who didn't have enough money to move to LA.  They're fucking like high fiving each other on the cover?  Like, are you kidding me?  This was like the ultimate fucking bro-shit stoner, fucking lame-ass jam band, battle of the bands, MusicSmith fucking Stratocaster, velvet fucking top hat, fucking scarf wearing Paisley bullshit ever.  Man, did i fucking hate that band.  Ugh."

Great question. :)
Does marijuana increase libido?

I wasn't going to add this part, but last time I smoked, I was sexting for like 5 hours straight.

Also, don't give someone spice at a concert.  Not cool.

Alcohol does weird things to your emotions.  I've met people who are angry drunks, it's pretty common.  My dad's like a sentimental drunk; when he gets shitfaced he reminisces and cries.
