Back in the 90's one of my nighttime hobbies was building/running a MUD (kind of an old text-based predecessor to MMO's like World of Warcraft) and listening to the show as I played, he inspired me to do little 'events' where some grey aliens would land, abduct players, et cetera. I'd reward the players based on their reactions so it wasn't a waste of their game time, and it was a lot of fun. Long night drives were always much more interesting with his voice, his callers, the stories they'd tell...

Nothing has really quite filled that void since.  I've tried Noory, and still try Clyde Lewis off and on... MITD showed promise for a while, but Art needed his life and his family for his last days. Nothing wrong with that.

RIP Art. I'll always remember the long nights on 90's AM radio listening to the wild tales of the UFO and paranormal. When it was an addiction of mine and would never miss the old five hour shows and Dreamland on sundays. I remember when UFO disclosure was going to "happen any day now" and people would call in with their anecdotes about lights they saw, dreams they had, abductions... I'll always remember the Antichrist Line, the Vampire Line, the Time Traveler Line.

Thanks for all the entertainment, mystery, and discovery. And rest well, Art. Roswells.

My thoughts regarding OP's rant above.

Weed is legal in several states now.  Now, because of pot's Schedule One status, the medical industry really hasn't researched interactions between psych meds and THC/CBD.  So, with weed being legal, we're seeing weed being mixed with all sorts of interesting prescription medications.  We are witnessing many new kinds of crazy blossoming at once.

Now I'm actually pro-legalization, but if you're on psych meds, it is recommended that you don't mix them with psychoactive substances.  Because I'm not sure we really need new kinds of crazy blossoming about these days.

Nice backtrack!  ;D

I had a 'meh, fuck this bullshit' moment of clarity.  It's been brewing for a while to be honest.  Almost actually voted for your guy to be honest.  I had my reasons, but those reasons are passed and I have to accept the reality I am in.

Not surprised by Trump's win to be honest.  And to be honest a strong part of me is relieved that Hillary didn't win.  Examining all the evidence on the table:  Trump fought dirty, but he didn't cheat.  Clinton cheated her way to the nomination.  Assange was in the right.  And the Dems fucked it up so badly I'll be registered as Independent for the next-go around.

Surprising election results, but I'm not convinced that Trump is the next Hitler anyways.  He is going to make a buck, and I doubt anybody but his friends will get a cut.  It's going to be a shit show, but the good news is it won't last more than four years.  SNL will be a riot and punk rock will make a comeback.

In other news, Joe Arpaio is now free of his duties in Maricopa County, so he's free for Trump's Attorney General position.

This is the darkest timeline.  Time to sport a goatee.

I agree. Heather could have just said these things on MiTD.

Yeah, she didn't say much.  I want the last fifteen minutes of my life back.

So I go downstairs when I get sick of listening to this Trumpnut George was talking to, to take out the trash, I come back up and Heather is basically being shooed off the show and saying good bye.  How much time did she get?  Thirty seconds?  And what was said?  I  missed it :p

what did i tune into?

Heather's attempt to create a consciousness experiment to heal Art Bell's pneumonia was cut short by a sudden storm and a blackout that cut her transmission.

Odd.

I don't think a show about black magic is appropriate right now.

OSOM looks like its dead in the water.
I like Robin, but I'm not interested in Alternative Health. I like Hoagie, but he has trouble getting out of a few comfort zones.

Yeah as soon as she went on with her anti-vaccine bullcrap, I tuned out.

The John Titor interview is lost to the fifth dimension, with the Henry VIII "Turkey Leg" painting that Holbein painted, the version of Star Wars Empire Strikes Back where Vader says "Luke, I am your father", and the Berenstein Bears.   ::)

(in other words, it doesn't exist here in Dimension C-137)

A synopsis of my observations of Heather & the MitD saga:

I wanted her to succeed, and in the first couple of weeks, she was getting better every day.  But then she plateaued, and that plateau kind of ... hung there in that low spot.  That slightly-better-than-noory-except-when-she-sounds-smug-which-is-often plateau where her show has just been hanging.  She's no Art, but TBH, Art isn't even Art anymore.  It was great to hear his voice last week, but there's a bitter quality in him now that is new to me.  Well, maybe not completely new because I think I picked up on it during the XM days when he was feuding with the SXM suits about streaming rights.

MitD is pretty much done, IMO.  I think Heather should take a long break from radio, take whatever she earned from MitD, and invest in some time in a broadcasting school.  If she dreams of playing the big leagues, by all means she should chase those dreams.  She could do this, but she lacks much of what she needs to do what she is trying.  You don't play centerfield for the Yankees when you have the overall experience of a Little-Leaguer at best.  She needs some professional training.  Like Art has.  Lots of.

I think Art should find some nice desert town in California just over the border, invest in a 215 card, vape or munch on some dank edibles until he's seeing UFO's, then do a pre-recorded podcast once he's chilled out and has the right vibe going for him.  Heather should go to Broadcast School, and give MITD's timeslot on DMDN (if Keith even wants to keep the network rolling) to Dark City or some new show not tied down to whatever contracts existed before (I imagine they pay serious $$$$ to keep Art's choice bumper music for MitD, and that really isn't necessary/won't work without Art at this point, all you have is a bad C2C Clone)

That said, the callers who called out Non Titor made Heather's show far more entertaining than usual.  Last night I tuned out of "The Force" guy who was just basically ripping off that "The Secret" pop woo and throwing "Jedi" terminology on it... to watch Star Wars Rebels instead.

Heather's done with Non Titor.  Thank God.
#24
Loving the callers, hating the guest.  This guy doesn't even have his John Titor lore straight.
#25
If he keeps this up I might just resubscribe to the Time Traveler thing.  :p

Well I'll be damned, he came on.

Copy what? How? The phone is locked. How do you access that?

You don't need to unlock the data to rip a raw image file of a given storage medium.  Rip an image of the encrypted device, then try to unencrypt the image.  This isn't rocket science.  They have hardware access, and the ability to virtualize just about anything.

It's a four digit code; 10000 permutations, but locks up if four wrong codes are inputted, whereupon it automatically deletes all the files and photos. Apple claim once deleted, they're irretrievable.

So make 2500 copies, try four codes on each copy?  Run 'em all in virtualization on some high-test government cloud?  Schmuck office manager me can figure this out, I'm sure the FBI can too.
