In an era where craftsmanship is in short supply, in virtually every field, it's such a treat to hear someone perform with such skill and expertise, who actually takes great pride in what he's doing.

Oh So True.  He is the master of his craft, in a trade that he invented, and has never come close to being equaled!!

will george be banning guests that do arts show from  doing c2c? not that it matters now that art is back

That would be cool!  I could see it play out this way:

1. Art could try to book all his old guests from c2c.

2. Most guests would gladly accept, to be interviewed by somebody who knows the topics, and can actually respond with thought provoking questions!  Not irrelevant random-ass responses like "Could that be a portal?"

3. Meanwhile, SNoory would systematically ban each MITD guest from further c2c appearances.  HA!! The plan's working!

4. In short order, the new format of c2c would then be left with worthless guests, and a turnip for a host. Or just be plain old "screened" open lines.

5. Art could conceivably tear down the remaining rotten shell of his former Great Empire, just by coming back to the air!!  Its diabolical and potentially brilliant!

Has RH been following him every night all week? I had no idea... Maybe I'll let this roll and see what his show is all about... I only noticed because I was doing something and didn't kill the channel right away.

No actually RCH has just discovered Ancient Ruins on Pluto!  This is his latest passion since the photos have been coming out.  It seems as if our whole solar system was once colonized!!

Don't worry, we will let a bit of time pass and try again, I think people thought you were going to be there every night, I should have explained it was for mainly open lines interaction, we will try again, as I said people hate change. You were just great and given time you would relax and be super.

Art

She did do well Art!  The technical difficulties made it seem quite awkward, but those can't be held against her.

When you hit the air tomorrow with Crystal Gayle and Graham Hancock, the crowds will roar.  Listeners might want to know something about me, I will think carefully on what I am willing to reveal.  I cannot blame anyone for wanting to hear more of you doing your magic.

Yes, maybe listeners thought I'd be with you every night, and were spooked by that.  If they realized it's just an occasional Open Lines possibility, maybe we'd all relax.

As I said, it is such a joy knowing your non-compete is over and we can look forward to tuning in tomorrow night for another ride into the unknown.

What a treat to be on the air tonight... we were on shortwave, Art!

Nice Job Redacted!  You did better than all the technical bs would imply!  I understood your appearances were for open lines nights, It was stated. :)

For the record, I am an insufferable skeptic. I don't believe in Bigfoot, ghosts, or alien abductions. I am willing to consider such possibilities, however I have yet to see any convincing empirical evidence of their existence. Nevertheless, Coast to Coast with Art Bell was the only radio show I always made it a point not to miss. Not because I wanted to deride the sometimes preposterous guests or topics, but because Art always made the whole thing so damned interesting. It was fun, like telling ghost stories around the campfire.

When that bumper music started, and that inimitable voice came out of the darkness, talking about Mel's Hole, or Atlantis, or cattle mutilations, we could forget, at least for a few hours, what a crummy day we'd had. It wasn't the subject matter so much as the way Art did the show. He was a master of the art of radiocraft, <snip>

Excellently Put   !!  ;)

QuoteWhat was I supposed to get? You think the wormhole would suffice? Maybe, Art must have thought differently.

I was really just making light of your post. And not in a sinister way, just goofing.

In all candor, I was pleased to learn (Redacted) was selected. I have the benefit of knowing her through several discussions. Some of those discussions are public, others were only between the hosts of the Gabcast.

She is known to Art through all her work on the Gabcast. I guess he saw something he thought was better than the wormhole.

I think the wormhole would have been more helpful then a repeatedly disconnected redacted.
Again, if you read my entire post, I stated she did fine, but technical difficulties kept her silent.  I know her contributions to Gabcast, and to the show in general, but they were of no use at the time.

Everybody is a nobody to someone.

Really.  That's all the insight you got out of that post?

My .02 on this topic.

I guess I don't mind the sidekick thing if it's just a weekly thing for open lines, but for most nights with a guest, I would redact (redacted), or any other sidekick.

I thought she did good, and can add flavor to the show if Art becomes lost for commentary for the moment.  ALTHOUGH, personally, given the show's concept of interactivablity (IE.. we paid to use the wormhole, so he shouldnt need input from a sidekick)

I think instead of relying on a random Gabcast nobody, the fans can help give the show direction!!!
