No it's just as bad, it's just that he's actually a relief compared to Heather. Who knew? The amateur Heatherisms plus voice affectations got much older much quicker.

I didn't listen live, but recorded it like with every MITD thus far, and I'm struggling to get through the severe vocal fry, upward inflection, and usually low energy that Heather has, coupled with the technical issues that continue. She's awkward on air, quite stilted, and the dull guest didn't help matters at all. Some of her comments suggest that she is grasping at anything to open the show, because she's unwilling to talk about herself, like the republican debate mention only to quickly admit that she doesn't follow politics (something we already knew after the test show when she was stumped by the Bush question) along with the San Francisco baseball bat story that should be left to the awful news segments. Her responses to Paxson are Noory-esque with the incessant huhs and wows, and ohs to keep the conversation going whenever there is a brief pause. There are enough mhms being thrown around while the guest is in the middle of answering a question to rival Richard C. Hoagland. I had to stop about ten minutes into the second hour, after the embarrassing John Lear reference that Paxson knew nothing about, and likely won't listen again until a booking is of interest. It frees up some time for another podcast, at least.

It is just very sad. Something lost on the Internet generation is that just because you can talk and ask questions doesn't mean anyone wants to listen to you. Gone are the days when the professionals sound professional. This is like listening to a college radio program, and not a particularly good one. I thought people were too hard on her the first time around, but she's had time to improve. Or not. I'm hoping Art will come back on -- and is reading these posts -- but suspect this will be the last time I tune in if this is the show.

Why aren't you supporting Art by being a Time Traveler yourself?

The old bellgabbere's wanteth no change. God forbiddeth for it were to be a woman. The arrogant ones of days of yore believeth a 70 year old broadcasting icon should rolleth over for them liketh a trained orangutang and do their bidding. They hateth George Noory, but want Art to run his show just like George Noory.

Another lurker summoned by MVs email. It was only a matter of time. There's big money to be made here. I count 6 or 7 feeds most nights playing Art Bell re-runs. He's still very popular. The investors smell profit. He's coming back.![]()
