Dave seems slurring and mumbling more than usual. Even reading the news cribbed from Drudge headlines. Seems to trail off or gets cut off by board op during the 3x5 card interviews. And the board op also speeds up, and slows down, 'The Chase' maybe because Dave is 'not ready.' I also like he never corrects frequently caller "Corny" when he calls him "Mr.Norway."

Didn't they do that in "The Day After" made-for-tv movie that was so controversial back in the day? Because a lot of our ICBM's are based in Plains states, so would be an initial target for sure.

Yes. He was, maybe still is, the most highly decorated Marine in history and then claimed that certain industrialists and bankers contacted him to do a coup in the US. He wrote a book "War is a Racket."

The Bill Hicks/AJ Conspiracy is one of my favorites. And the earlier Alex was very much like Hicks in content also. Hicks was epic but didn't get much national attention, unfortunately. I like the Hicks/AJ better than Elvis still alive or Kaufman still alive because it involves not just being alive but reinventing himself as another public figure who amazingly turns an Public Access tv show and local radio into an international phenomena, money generating machine, and target of politicians and governments. You will recall Alex did some standup here in Austin a few times even. Amazing stuff.

Aside from a heart attack or stroke, considering his apparent size and anger, he will still likely be around. Or 'suicided.' As I mentioned in his thread the bankruptcy and legal structuring and ability, and internet- for now- will likely keep him going in some fashion. He really should set up a church set-up and REALLY avoid taxes and the rate increases Austin Energy has increased. Those are really sweet deals. Though we are seeing a lot of banks, systems, CC companies (almost also based in Delaware due to their interesting laws and Court system) cutting people off due to their speech. So who knows?

Quote from: K_Dubb on October 12, 2022, 04:01:27 PMHere there are a few bars that still require it in certain areas known for activism, probably will for eternity at this rate 🤷 I just don't go to them, I think it has been clear for at least a year that there is little if any practical benefit and it is just harrying nuisance to make it inconvenient for folks to slack off
I think air-travel has always been the 'testing' point on things. Starts off: fun, leisure, skirts, etc. Then goes (you could argue the deregulation and union battles) a bit cheaper but more of a hassle. And then now: like you are a victim and resented but has to be moved. Hazed, scanned, or groped by slack-jawed TSA people in government make-jobs, demand for a REAL ID compliant document, nickle-and-dimed for everything, and (until recently depending on route forced masked and show vaccines,) and then most, even in the airport, don't accept cash to buy an over-priced (captive market) drink or food item. But, somehow, illegals, without an ID, get a free trip to Martha's Vineyard or anywhere else in the country.

Quote from: K_Dubb on October 12, 2022, 03:38:27 PMWell I was talking about the vax card for the Covid Nineteen, which has stayed in my wallet.
I'm not sure which version of Corona-Chan has been released or mutated but there is long history of vaccine record demands. And, as I mentioned, just a couple months ago had to show card and id to visit an assisted living home to see a cousin (much older due to vagaries of marriages.) Interestingly residents were not demanded any vaxes but the concierge joked that she needed to show her whole records, including flu, to work there. But 'that's what they say.' One of those large concerns. Nice place, I admit, but seemed weird. And the whole live-care-to-die type of complex. Buy in and never leave. And almost sci-fi when I commented 'but there is nothing around' and reply was 'we got everything here, even movies, pickle-ball, and happy-hour, oh and that is our memory-care there- we just built!'

Quote from: K_Dubb on October 12, 2022, 02:36:37 PMLOL I would not have canned you you goof, tolerance is a classical liberal virtue going back to the Enlightenment and the measure of tolerance is how much disagreement you can stomach before you punish someone, when it is in your power to do so.  I think your vax position is utter horseshit but I still haven't shown my vax card to anyone.

Bears are what we call fat gays, we hate them so much we make them have their own separate parties, and it was at bearfest in Provincetown last year around the 4th of July when it was first widely reported that a near-100% vaccinated crowd could spread covid.  The unvaccinated owe the brave Provincetown Bears a debt of gratitude for pushing social distancing to the limit and stress-testing the vaccine.

You are basically passing PUtin positions undigested here.  Are you checking your opinions with counterpoints at all?  Nuclear missiles on his border with Ukraine?

Ukraine's NATO membership was never remotely realistic before this war and, even if they joined, that means nothing.  The Baltics on his border have been NATO members since 2004, no nukes stationed there or any real pressure to do so.  Now Pootie is threatening nukes in Kaliningrad in retaliation for Finland and Sweden joining  He is picking this fight with NATO and losing because most of the world can see he is an old-school imperialist asshole and running for cover.  Your anti-war stance is kind of jarring here.
I call some BS, though I don't know your lifestyle. But I've had to show vaccinations. I even had a 'vaccine passport,' before it was a thing. Yes, it was paper but certain countries demand to know if you had stuff. Also, even before on the Corona-Chan, to visit patients, certain nursing homes, and flights I had to produce it. One, oddly, even in deep-in-the-heart-of-flyover-haters Iowa scanned it to visit someone. Many European countries made people get X-Rays due to possible TB- Russian had a peculiarly bad strain. Even African countries demand proof of Yellow Fever vax before entry (Look up the efficacy though.) In your state they demanded in for hospital visits and even now still have rules. I think some schools or nursing homes here demand certain things and to work, right-to-work state, demand even flu vaxes and proof of such. Military was also forced to vax for things. You're claim it that 'no vaccine checking' is total bs.

Different cases. But, ultimately, the ability to pay might be moot. He, or associated entities, apparently, restructured some stuff in recent years. Plus there are various provisions under law with regard to bankruptcies (various schedules depending on personal, corporate, etc,) homestead exemptions, and other things. So might be, sort of, judgement proof. Though many the show or associated stuff might be gone? Idk. Also, and I don't know, certain 'caps,' on types of tort judgements, depending on what is their basis. This varies by jurisdiction. Having said that it still is a large verdict and the lawyers will make money, likely. And some of the grieving parents and other victim also. I await when new commercials are for 'conspiracy talk victim' instead of the usual 'were a Marine' or 'victim of a Big Truck accident,' which replaced the baby-powder and fake tit ones. Each generation of attorneys need new paychecks, after all....

Nuclear weapons aren't on Russia's border, they never have been. Ever. They don't need to be.

The old SU on the otherhand had silos ranged near Germany. Disused ones in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Now, before typing yet more shit, do some fucking fact checking.
Don't they still have them in Kalinigrad ( nee' Konigsberg?) I thought we had some in Turkey which, depending on view I guess, is pretty much on the border. That were withdrawn as a part of the Cuban Missile Crisis stuff. It could be argue SAC in holding patterns were, at times, pretty much "on the border" also. I also seem to recall rumors of tactical nukes in BRD during a time, and still there post unification. Though using a lawyers parlance under our control so not in violation of the German agreements and treaties with regards to WMD.

RCH had shows! He must be exhausted. Two nights in a row! Not sure what the heck was talked about. A lot of drawings, "renderings," rotations, filtering ("not understood by non-experts") and fitting a "model." "We are raising spectre of nuclear war to ignore the politics up there!" Secret codes even! "Distinctions without a difference." General Armageddon was just appointed by Putin! This was fallowed by disputed claims by expert guests and angry RCH.

Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in the Great White North! Happy Columbus Day to our Eye-tie friends, though Leif was first we shouldn't ignore Columbus. After all there are theories about him, like K_dubb would call 'code' or 'dog whistles.' And Celebrate our Indigenous Peoples Day, though I have some reservations about it, since they also came over, albeit a bit earlier. Celebrate all those hard working people, myths, and theories by shutting down post offices, banks, work places, and schools! Maybe also tear down or, at minimum, cover up some statuary.  Because I note most places open, except the usual suspects in the public sector who need the break. And banks, who take hours and holidays at every chance they got because a captured market.

Quote from: WOTR on October 10, 2022, 04:00:36 PMLets break this up into two...

It's Putins fault for starting the war. That makes it pretty nice and removes all responsibility for the consequences of our actions from us.

It's funny. I recall hitting a kid in grade one and saying "but he started it." Didn't work out too well for me. But it's believed by millions if a senile senior citizen says it.
Like in hockey or a street fight. It is normally the retaliation that is noticed that gets you into the sinbin or jail. Though with all cameras, replays, and all the kids on Chicom tiktoks this might be changing. There also is even the more basic  rhetorical plays on words on accusations and deflection. It is funny, but not hah, that these are used in international politics with serious consequences. Maybe we should go back to "sticks and stones....but words will never hurt me?" I think Biden might want to be the teacher to wash out mouths with soap and tell all parties "I will not mention certain tribes, deals, or corruption. I will not mention historical feuds and resentments. I will not mention Democrats started a Civil War and supported Black Codes, Jim Crow, KKK, and slavery. And the only Hunter to mention is an awesome tv show" a 100 times and they make us all bang them to clean the blackboard erasers. Luckily in his addled state he would forget and we all could go home as the clock hits 3. Or, maybe Two Minutes to Midnight.

You guys predefine your perfect evil conservative and then claim anyone who disagrees with you on anything is that. It's beyond pathetic. 🙄

I will address the Elephant in the Room, like an old joke, that involved rabbis I think, searching around and describing said animal. Like much in life, is not always, simply black and white. Some now should appreciate the 'non-binary' position1 Haha. Different tribes, sects, and areas, though, in general, have some common-ground and interesting rules, almost evolutionary. Almost Beyond the Pale! Not saying stupid or not clever! There are disputes but even the basics was revolutionary, often a good thing even, maybe, but the idea of matrilineal lines of descent was an interesting adoption. Seen in some other areas in Africa even- "hey, we got some lost Tribes?" Good luck on that right of return! But, sometimes, call a Spade a Spade, and when obvious call them out. But, I think, the beauty of it all is the ultimate hypocrisy on all created "sides." What did He call some of them? I forget. Haha. Some kind of new synagogue of someone?

Agree. I don't know why I had questions. But, still, sand, versus sawdust, dirt, old hay, etc cause me questions. You sandblast stuff, not use dirt or sawdust, and it more shifty, you got (if on beach) the actions of water. I would like to go to Pendleton and the Stampede up in Calgary. We used to have prison rodeos here, but, for whatever reason, they have been curtailed. Still have the normal ones. Not sure why the prison ones stopped.
