My vote is for George Senda to be the new MITD host. He would be infinitely entertaining!

HAIL FALKIE!

And Praise MV.

Radio and Podcasts / Jim Bohannon
December 01, 2016, 09:16:01 PM
Apologies if this has already been posted (feel free to merge me if so). I tried to look for a discussion on Mr. Bohannon but I'm pretty drunk right now so wasn't able to locate it.

Other than MITD and "Coast" and Richard Syrett I've started listening to quite a bit of Jim Bohannon recently. I actually enjoy him quite a bit. Unlike the nuts on the right (Mark Levin) or the left (Ed Schultz) he does discuss quite a bit of politics but he's very even keel and actually quite rational. He actually reminds me of Paul Harvey for his ability to stay even keel in discussions and presenting entertaining subjects and stories. He also has some very entertaining cultural guests as well discussing different aspects of society and topics that are of great interest. I can't imagine Jim Bohannon going off on a 30+ minute diatribe (ahem, Alex Jones and Clyde Lewis) either. He's quite good with callers as well.

All in all, other than the programs I've listened to for years I actually enjoy listening to Mr. Bohannon quite a bit for hearing different facets of discussion across the spectrum.

Have any of the rest of you listened to his program and what are your thoughts?

intowhich the other program im alluding to. What I mean is the radio specteum in general between the times of 12a.m. to 5 a.m.  of the other program towith I reference.

WHAT?!?!?  SHE JUST GAVE RESPECT TO NOORY? ??

Boooooooo!!!!      I remember that shit. Alot of that shit was justified!

"Somebody go back and get a shitload of dimes!!!'  - Taggert, Blazing Saddles.

God FORBID she mention Bellgab.

Well, damnit, I'm sorry. I was pretty drunk at the time and didn't think I'd actually get through to speak with her. Normally I don't ramble so much but when I've been drinking some I tend to go on a bit. So, yeah, I regularly lurk here.

Anyway, the big point I wanted to make with Heather was that just because you're a fan of her program doesn't mean you can't be a fan of Syrett's "Conspiracy Show" or Noory. I'll probably get mucho hate for that, but it's not about praising Noory (I've certainly had some not so positive things to say about Mr. Pizza Roll in the past even if I still overall enjoy his program)or being an apologist to him so much as being one of those rare people who enjoys most of the different programs. My point was that I think there's a tremendous amount of vitriol and hate towards George that just seems unwarranted to me.

I did give Heather great praise for how I feel she's doing a fine job and I truly enjoy her program. And perhaps her change from her posts as (Redacted) to her personality now is from understanding what it's like to sit in the type of chair George does every night as well (well, he mostly stands according to him, but still).

Anyway, hopefully she didn't block me for my call - it wasn't intended to be offensive toward her in bringing up George.

And thanks to JesusJuice for bringing up the previous history of some comments.

Just listened to the episode last month where George called into GabCast with MV and (Redacted) and the other drunk people there and I have to give him props for that. Going to have to listen to more GabCast as I dig the jive I heard there. Now before throwing pizza rolls at me, I just wanted to throw out a few things. I'm a long time lurker here and may become a bit more active as long as my Budweiser supply doesn't diminish while posting here from time to time as the board has picked up some.

I've gone back over the last 3-4 years and listened to ALOT of classic Bell (my favorite episode is with Patsy/Harlot the Witch who was crazier, and probably nicer, than my ex-fiancee) and I've started to really dig the guy much more than I did before just listening to mostly Noory. I think the first time I really got into C2C was back in hearing the interview Noory did with Benjamin Creme (I guess that was around 2002 or so?). As far as Art, he's a great conversationalist and interviewer and I'm really looking forward to more of his shows on MITD. Hopefully he won't quit again after a few weeks.

With that said, I don't think much could touch the almost Tom Selleck epicness of Dave's moustache. That's just a thing of beauty, man. And Dave sure does get a tremendous amount of pain here - some of it very deserving (his poor preparation for interviews at times, his Nooryisms - "Could it be a portal?" / "I don't believe in coincidences!", and his "Golly gee!" persona of an overall nice guy that borders on fakeness at times) but I really have to give the guy major props for calling into a program where he knew he was going to get nothing but grief. And while I shake my head and sigh at some of his comments he makes ("Jesus, George, a typhoon thousands of miles away isn't going to affect the weather in Hawaii!" / "An angel isn't a spaceship, George!") I still regularly listen to Coast as I find Noory interesting at times and I honestly think he does a great job with callers in seeming to genuinely care and want to give people a voice on the show. Meh. I like the way George is open and friendly with callers as Art, and bless him as he's great, can come across a bit acerbic at times with callers.

Anyway, just throwing in that two cents about how he called into GabCast. Hopefully I don't get slaughtered too bad and no one tries to hold me down and force Carnivora down my throat for it. Meh, as far as me, I'll continue to listen to both shows to be amused in different ways by both characters with both Art and Dave.

For everyone dissing George Noory all I have is two words for you:

Barbara Simpson

It's just proof that instead of Noory we could have a far, far worse host we could all really get behind in despising. In many ways, we're blessed to have George even when he makes some asinine comments or statements on the program (and God I hate when he makes some dumb-ass comment to a caller pouring out an emotional story with: "Oh, well I hope you're doing okay now!" or some such tripe).

Out of all the hosts, I personally prefer Ian. I like George though even if he irks me sometimes - I liked Art too, but I personally got a little tired of listening to some of Art's stories about life that went on for twenty minutes talking about Ramona (before her passing, R.I.P.) or his damned cats and how intelligent they were before realizing: "Oh, we have a great show tonight now that it's halfway over...". C2C with Art basically got to a point where it was an open forum for Art Bell to express his thoughts on life instead of actually discussing different things with callers and/or guests. And while Art had some interesting things to say, I don't think you should let all your personal stuff out all the time. So, I'm going to be a naysayer here and say I prefer George to Art in the last decade or so just so I can start off my stay here at Coastgab warmly by other members.

Anyway, it's my first post, I am glad I found this place as I'm a huge fan of C2CAM.
