I'm a big space fan but NASA is off the rails. Defund it! That Artemis launch was scrubbed because of an engine that last flew on the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 1999. They're using old hardware and technology. Can someone please tell me why the Artemis program is estimated to cost $93 BILLION?

The Space Shuttle cost between $1B and $1.5B for each launch. The program was canceled for being too expensive. The Artemis program, using Shuttle-era technology and hardware will cost $4B to $4.5B per launch. At least with the Shuttle, the orbiter and Solid Rocket Boosters (SRBs) were actually reusable. Not so with Artemis.

Something else that isn't talked about much. The Artemis capsule will NOT take people to the surface of the moon. It only takes them to the Lunar Gateway, a small space station that will someday orbit the moon. Astronauts transfer from Artemis to the Lunar Gateway. Then they transfer again to a SpaceX Starship for the trip down to the moon's surface and back. Unbelievable. You can't make this stuff up.

It's true that possession of recreational drugs was decriminalized in Portugal many years ago, but buying and selling is still very illegal and will definitely get you in trouble. There are many "dealers" operating in the tourist areas but they all sell fake goods. You will not find real drugs on the street unless you know someone.

CBD shops sell flowers but with very low THC content. It is also possible to get a prescription for cannabis from your doctor and have it filled at any farmácia.

Beer is definitely cheap here. 99 cents/litre.

North Americans don't even make the top ten list of expats moving to Portugal, but I do hear American accents more and more often.

I'm not familiar with torrents but I'm learning. Now I see that the overall progress is only 54% (after how many days?!) yet I've got over 1200 files. I think this means that the files are not complete. If my hunch is correct then after another week or so I should have complete shows. 

My error was expecting these to download quickly on a 500mb fiber connection. Apparently that's not the case. Patience is required. Thankfully I haven't been tempted to listen to Leo Laporte.

Apple sure doesn't like VPNs and torrent software. Took me a while to get it all working. Looks like I'm downloading the file but I'm really not sure.

I'm in Europe. Would you still recommend NordVPN? Looks like the basic level would be sufficient. Epic browser has a built-in VPN function that I've used a few times to access a site in the states.

A good quality VPN is probably something I should be using to surf bellgab.

We watched a few of the videos but they're not as good as the interviews. Graham explains a lot more in the long format radio shows, plus you can listen with your eyes closed. He's a helluva presenter.

Thank you! A sick friend (not really an enemy) is listening to these while recovering. So far I've only found a few with Art Bell. I know there are more. Perhaps I should learn about torrent.
