Radio and Podcasts / Re: George Noory is Comedy Gold
March 27, 2014, 01:31:40 AM
Some of his comments the other night really made me do several head plants.  Jorch asks his guest how someone would hide a 777 and the guest says that all they'd have to do is stick it in a hangar or cover it with camouflage netting.  A few minutes Jorch says "Well, I guess whoever stole it sure knows how to hide a jet".  The pause before his guest spoke was classic.  Yup, Jorch, I guess they'd know how to park the plane in a hangar or cover it with a net.

And now he has an app.  A portal app.

And now over 100,000 people have paid to get it!  (Any why wouldn't they?  The app's reviews are stuffed with fake positive affirmations)

This post-Connecticut Shooting hour was surreal.  The answer isn't controlling assault weapons, the answer is more guns!!!  Don't worry if you're faced with someone with automatic weapons, you can still get him with your 6 shooter if you sneak up on him, right George?  I always knew the CIA was behind Columbine.

I don't care what you say, this guy is a classic example of how one so afflicted seldom comes to terms with his or her own underlying douchebaggery.

Somebody needs to disprove Noory's outrageous claims on the air tonight that old oil wells have filled up by themselves overnight. Thats ridiculous.
Noory never has any guest with the opposite view on his abiotic oil theory either.

He had someone on once that told him he's gotta be one of two or three people out there that actually believe in abiotic oil.  He explained why the specific wells that people claim are re-filling are actually misinterpretations of short term data.  The guest told him he was dangerously misleading people and urged him to stop.  I don't remember who it was, but I'm sure he'll never be on again.

Classic Noory on tonight's show concerning abiotic oil:  "You can make it from anything...as long as you have the right ingredients."   ???

Beat me to the draw!  I was just going to post the same thing.  Worth noting, however, this was in response to Gerry Corsi trying to imply that if the nazis could make synthetic oil out of coal, you should be able to make it without coal.  I guess that's kinda like making wine without grapes or any other kind of fruit.

Don't mean to be a spoiler, but George certainly did his thing!   Clearly he hadn't even bothered to take a few seconds to search youtube for the video in question.  Seems to have treated Nye as just  someone with a unique point of view (to which he gives equally to his like-minded christian bretheren) because he can't follow the clear, logical explainations of why creationism is  NOT SCIENCE.  Not having a clue as the significance and breadth of this issue (despite Nye laying it all out), George seems to think his role as a good host is to bridge some middle ground between the creationists and scientists, George tries to get Nye to say that maybe we can all agree that perhaps everything he is saying is true and maybe someone [like god] created that!  Classic George!  Bravo!!!  Anyway, despite George's inability to really get a grasp on the arguement, Nye manages to get his message out.  I like Bill Nye.  If I had kids, I'd want them to watch his show.

Oh my god, how did I miss this?

First Hour: Bill Nye, "the Science Guy," talks about why he believes creationism is not good for kids.

Please, someone upload this or link to it, I must listen.

Paranormal - Conspiracy - UFOs - Etc. / Mark Edward
August 26, 2012, 05:45:57 PM
I recently listened to a show which in the first half featured Mark Edward, a mentalist performer and psychic de-bunker.  (Although an open minded one).

George Noory so consistently missed the point SO much it was totally remarkable.

George Noory: "Well, my aunt that was a doctor spent years trying to investigate the paranormal."

Mark Edward: (waiting for Noory to say something more as an arguement): "<pause>... hello??" (assuming maybe he got disconnected)

I really liked hearing from Edward because he's actually got a sensible approach, compared to the usual fraudulinos like Sylvia Brown and her ilk.  The problem is that Noory is a stupid person with stupid beliefs:  - There are no coincidences, insistence on the evil/good dichotomy, ouija boards are bad and very real connections to evil forces, etc.  Unable to put his stupid beliefs aside, he really came out looking like the idiot he really is.

I hope they get Mark Edward back, although I'd like to hear him interviewed by someone less stupid in the future like Ian Punnett or George Knapp.

I gotta say that Friday's "Open Lines" finally sent me over the top.  It finally made me register for this site.  It seems like the only people that call in now are half-wits that think Noory is great.

The best part of the evening was when Noory read a message from a woman saying he's an idiot, and he commented that she'd be a lousy person to take on a date.  Well, George, you're single because generally speaking people aren't attracted to idiots.

"Harmness" - need I say any more?  The deterioration of the show into "George and his half-wit friends hour" is astounding.  I'm kind of worried that it will be cancelled on my station soon.
