This just isn't the case. Here is a link for 6 months for $24.99, and you can call them to apply a new promo code once your six months are done.

Is that for the internet subscription?

You can download an app on a tablet, Kindle, smart phone, etc.  If you use an app, you're not going to need an antenna or separate satellite radio.  If you don't have something to download an app to, you can get a dedicated satellite radio.  You will need clear access to the southern sky for your antenna.

Thanks dude.   So let me see if I got this--so I need to get the Siriusxm internet radio thing and from that I could download an app to an internet enabled device.  Then once that is done then the device plays Sirius programming live anytime I want.  That sounds doable.

But what is a "dedicated" satellite radio?  But access to southern sky--for me probably not doable.

I guess also an alternative to live listening would be to record and listen later...maybe with a portable satellite Radio if on the move.

How can you listen to Art on Sirius live IF you are not near any computers or windows?  Can you do this with satellite radio?  Does anyone know?

I also don't think C2C is worried about Art returning--in fact it's my guess they had a clue what Art had coming AND then they signed Noory for a decade to keep a steady established(though uninspired) hand on the rudder to keep the show safe.

One of the things that I always enjoyed about Art was his appreciation for the best in television.  There on some good shows on the tube, believe it or not, and Art usually managed to find them.  I happen to know that he's a fan of Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead (two shows I'm also crazy over), from comments his wife has made on her FB page.  It'll be nice to hear his comments on the shows as Breaking Bad starts its final season next month and The Walking Dead begins Season 4 in October.

I so agree!  Will be cool to hear Art's take our the very current pop culture.

Just checked the Coast to Coast AM website (oh I feel so dirty now) and they are still offering Art Bell Somewhere in Time (usually circa 1995-2003) as part of their Coast Insider service as well as including Art in their weekly offering of Classic Shows (usually circa 2006-2009).

Interestingly this weeks classic show from Art is entitled Dark Matter & Hubble: An astronomy scholar at Caltech, Richard Massey, discussed the latest findings about dark matter and dark energy, and how the Hubble Telescope is used to gather this data.

Coincidence or Synchronicity?

Coincidences...there are no such things as coincidences!

Hard to tell. You need the radio near a window. If it doesnt work, listen via the internet.

How about if you use an I phone or Kindle?  Do they have the same problem?

How are the reception on these Sirius radios?  If you are in a huge building with a portable is receptiion hard?  Do you need to be by a window to connect with a satellite?

Which is fair comment IF you haven't got to invest possibly a great deal of money to listen.. But if you do, and he's not on the air in 8/ 15/ 24 mths?  You won't get your money back will you?

One thing you can do is cancel the subscription month to month...art quits, cancel the subscription.  The radio though you will be stuck with...i'd get the cheapest one available.

About those jibing about how long until Art retires again--my advice enjoy each show like it will be the last...then you won't be caught by suprise this time!

That said, i'll give Art 5 years but it could be sooner!  LOL.

Personally, I don't care what it's called... it will always and forever be The Art Bell Show.
Glad I didn't reign in my excitement.  This is exactly what I was hoping for.
It's the return of Art freakin Bell fer chrissakes.  Just in time for the holiday season no less!

This is the coolest thing to happen on the internet, ever.

Yes, the name is fine...the key point is Art is back, baby!  About Sirius, Art is the only reason i'd pay for it.  Does Sirius have portable radios?

So is Art going to pull an Art Bell and have a message late at night or will he wait until early Tuesday for maximum impact?  It seems one or the other at this point.  Can't wait!

I could speculate, but that's all it would be. If so, Cumulus would be getting money out of it for sure. This kind of thing, without looking at the contract or knowing other details of it, is really hard to have a feeling on one way or the other. I am quite sure that Art got the exact deal he was looking for. Cumulus is a fairly big umbrella though, so I don't know that he would even need to do that.

EDIT: I just double checked to be sure because I wasn't 100% certain, but if he was just doing internet or satellite broadcasting, he wouldn't have needed to renew his AM/FM license.

Clearly I have am not 100% what Art is doing because I don't know the man. But I know how entertainment media industries work very well, so my speculation on all of this is coming from a knowledge of those things. If he doesn't own an AM/FM show I will be shocked, because the evidence points to that in an almost undeniable fashion. I just wanted to make it clear that I don't personally know Art, so I am not getting any of this information from him and don't want to be implying that I am.

I could see where they could supplement Cumulus with some other stations to get full USA coverage...for one I know down here in Southern Florida that we have no Cumulus stations.

Likely, yes. We talked about this yesterday morning, but given that he is using artbell.com for all of this means he outright owns the show he is doing. That's a ton of ad revenue, likely millions of dollars worth, and unless he owns the show, he wouldn't be allowed to use it without it being linked in network, which it is not, at least at this time.

So could that mean Art could syndicate out his presumed show out to various stations Cumulus and not Cumulous?

Woah, it's close now.  My prediction:

The announcement will be between noon and 3 PM today--a fairly early Monday proclamation is a good time to maximize the attention for an announcement with regards to other media outlets.

You know with Limbaugh and Hannity off Cumulus soon--i'm thinking Cumulus.  Doesn't Hannity air in the evenings?  Regardless Cumulus looks to have a lot of room soon.

Please most people are not too high about this--they are simply happy Art is looking to be back.  They won't be crushed if it's not perfect.  They don't need to be warned by "wizened wise old pros" to slow down.  The buzz kill thing isn't needed.  Let people be happy about Art--they will be okay.

Well wasn't specifying you necessarily--with regards to argument/observation or opinion or whatever...meh I still stand by my take regarding that.

About where Art lands--most  of our guesses seem to be either XM or Cumulus.  Can anyone think of any OTHER alternative to these 2 options?

I find the too high a pedestal argument silly.  It's just people happy Art is coming back.  He's a true radio talent but no one is saying he's perfect in every way.  Who is?  But he's a talent and his outlook and personality is unique and it resonates.  Go Art go.

You can listen to pretty much any station on tunein.com or on one of their iPhone / Android apps. So no matter what / when / where Art comes back most people will be able to listen.

Thanks--though at the moment i'm technolgically deficient and bereft.  Though if it came down to it, I guess I could overcome that.
